About Cande'

We love the Smoky's, Hiking, Nature, The beauty of the Mountains.

Cande' purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Cande' chose Pigeon Forge

In 2006 we built this cabin in the Smoky's after many years of visiting the surrounding area. We hand selected this lot because of it's Fanatic View! Panoramic sitting high on the mountain. It's great location to everything, Shopping, Hiking, Great Smoky Mountains, Dinner Shows. You could be there for a week and do something different and new every day.

What makes this cabin unique

This 3 story cabin is truly 'a log cabin', real 'D' logs, No paint, no carpet, no sheet rock, all wood, floors, ceilings, walls. very homey, beautiful and nice! The pictures of both the cabin and the views do not do it justice. This cabin like most is on a well. The difference between the others and our's is we have invested a considerable amount of money to have the best water available. Our water is treated just as city water is. The result of which is perfect water, We also have installed reverse osmosis for both the ice maker, and a faucet at kitchen sink for wonderfully delicious drinking water. Well water problems are not an issue at Red Hot & Rockin.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for the quick response. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend at Red Hot and Rockin. The views are majestic with a sweeping scene that changes throughout the day. Both sunrises and sunsets from the hot tub made for a memorable stay and perfect viewing position. The house also offered those great views from just about every room. We enjoyed the wildlife views as well. Had about 2 dozen wild turkeys pass by each morning. The house was very comfortable and inviting. It made leaving the house even for a trip to the Smokies a decision to ponder. Thanks again.

Fantastic Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Red Hot & Rockin Cabin before and each visits gets better. The view was fantastic as it provided much relaxation on the deck. Red provides the privacy everyone would want. The cabin was very clean and well provided with utensils. We had a few lady bugs but no more than what you would expect being in the mountains. Cande' was quick to respond to any questions we had. It was evident she wanted to make it a memorable stay for us. Disappointed we did not see any bears we did see wild turkey in the yard.

If I could give the owners a 5+ rating I would.

We will be back again in the fall.

The place was amazing. The ladybugs were a bit annoying but it didn't take away from the experience. Could not get the wireless internet to work or the Netflix but got over it quickly

Owner's Response: We agree the lady bugs can be annoying. We have done all we know to do to keep them out but they seem to love the cabin as much as our guests...ha We do warn about them in the material we provide our guests. Red Hot & Rockin' HAD some issues with spotty wifi, Netflix sometimes not connecting or the connection being lost. We were in right behind this guest for our annual spring clean trip and my husband switched a cable to a different port and that seems to have fixed the issue, no reports of problems since.

Best view of the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the cabin. The cabin was very clean and welcoming. There were a few lady bugs in the cabin but they did not bother us one bit, I think we all know that if a bug wants into a cabin then they are getting in. Cande warned us before hand that the lady bugs were bad this time of year but we were well aware of that because we also have cabins in different parts of Tennessee, I would not expect to stay in a cabin on the top of a mountain and not see any signs of wildlife in or around the cabin. This was our first time staying in "Red Hot and Rockin" and we will definitely be back, the pictures truly do not do this cabin justice. If you want to feel as close to heaven on earth as possible then this cabin will not disappoint. The only warning I have is that if you plan on being productive or sight seeing, do not I repeat do not lay in the hammock, it will be to peaceful and relaxing to even think about moving for atleast an hour lol. Thank you Cande for sharing your little piece of heaven on earth with us, we will be back.

Owner's Response: The hammock is inviting, with a view like that to cozy up to who wouldn't want to at least try it out. As this guest warned you may just get too comfortable and not want to leave. The bugs are annoying and we are annoyed we can't keep them out in spite of all the ways we have tried. As this guest mentioned we do warn about them. The cabins has fabulous views, is comfortable, clean and well situated to the national park and other attractions. Red Hot & Rockin' is a great place to call home while you are away from yours.

BEWARE OF BUGS!!!

  • 1 of 5

BEWARE OF BUGS!!!! Me and my family recently stayed in this cabin on March 2015 and was very disappointed by the amount of bugs we came in contact with. From WASP SCORPIONS and LADY BUGS (in the hundreds) it was just ridiculous. We contacted the owner to address our issue and although they were respectful and nice we pretty much got a "oh well deal with it" type of response.

First there was a wasp inside the cabin which we killed, thinking maybe we let it in, but shortly after more appeared and we realized that they had a way in from the outside. Which made our whole trip hell because we were paranoid that we would get stung or something would fly in our mouth while we were sleep. Then while playing pool at the bottom level my wife screams and notices there’s a scorpion crawling on the floor. Not to mention we also later found another one in the bathroom by the toilet while using it, and to put the icing on the cake there was the lady bug issue. Now when we first checked out the cabin we noticed a few lady bugs here and there, but hey they’re harmless so we thought nothing of it but as time pass (literally a couple hours) more appeared the 1st night we vacuumed over 200 lady bugs just on the bottom floor window seal with a wet vac. Then sprayed bug spray (which btw we ran thru 3 can of spray in 3 days) around the window where we figured they were coming in from, came back a hour later and there was tons more. The next day we sprayed before we left out to enjoy the strip and came back 5 hours later the whole window seal and floor was cover with them ( which I have pictures that I will try to attach).

All and all I will say the cabin was nice and clean minus the bugs. It looked exactly how the pictures looked. The scenery was beautiful and I will say they did mention a bug problem but nowhere near on this scale. I’ve been to Gatlinburg plenty times and every cabin has its spider or two, but this is by far the worst I’ve ever seen. But again im not here trying to bash the owners nor the cabin because they actually were very nice. I’m just here to give people the fair warning I feel I didn’t receive. I’m from the city I understand some people will feel this is just nature and will have no problem with this, but for the people like me YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!!! If I would’ve known the extent of their bug problem I definitely wouldn’t have stayed.

Owner's Response: We really do want our guests to have a wonderful time and it is very disheartening and frustrating when things happen to spoil it. This guest says from excerpts above; all and all I will say the cabin was nice and clean minus the bugs. It looked exactly how the pictures looked. The scenery was beautiful and I will say they did mention a bug problem but nowhere near on this scale. I am from the city I understand some people will feel this is just nature and will have no problem with this. I am not here trying to bash the owners nor the cabin because they were actually very nice. How exactly that all adds up to a rating of one we aren’t sure. We do warn our guests about the lady bug issue in various ways. We address it in our rental agreement, our check-in information, our Facebook page and we have even text messaged upcoming guests when we had a report that the insects were in abundant supply. The next three guests after this guest says they saw minimal bugs with no issues and rated Red Hot & Rockin’ and their experience with us, 5-star, as have the majority of our guests. UPDATE: April 1, 2015: Our cleaning crew tells us it appears lady bug season has ended. Just a quick education for those of you who do not know; Every year when temperatures start getting colder in the fall the lady bugs (Asian lady beetles) in that part of the mountains migrate to the cabins looking for warmth, sometimes in more abundance than others. They are attracted to light colors and south facing windows mainly. They stick around until warmer spring months then leave again. We at Red Hot & Rockin have spent a considerable amount of time, money and resources trying to combat them, we have learned to simply embrace and get along with them during some winter months. Until next fall adios lady bugs!
