Come and completely relax in this comfortably rustic three-bedroom home perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the scenic, storied Mendocino Coast. Located on a quiet, gated road ideally situated West of famed California Highway One, this cozy retreat is perfect for a family vacation, a weekend with friends, or a romantic getaway.
A beautiful eight mile drive from the historic village of Mendocino, this is the perfect home base for wine tasting, beach combing, kayaking, hiking, biking or shopping. Simply relaxing is fine, too, and you will find the peaceful setting and sea air perfect for sipping a local wine on the expansive porch, soaking in the private hot tub, or reading that book you've been trying to find time for. Treat yourself to the many fine local restaurants, or stay in and create a gourmet meal of your own in the fully equipped kitchen.
Each of the three bedrooms feature brand-new luxury pillow-top Queen-size bedsets. There are two bathrooms; one featuring a vintage claw-foot tub perfect for a warm bath, and the other a double shower. All linens are of course provided, as well as an assortment of games, jigsaw puzzles and books to enjoy. Relax or be inspired; it's up to you!

My wife and I have long enjoyed the Mendocino Coast and visited frequently as weekend get-aways. We were fortunate to meet many locals and eventually locate a home for sale that we fell in love with.
Our favorite feature of this vacation home is how utterly relaxing it is. Even when we visit with all intentions to accomplish work away from work, the relaxation gene kicks in unexpectedly, and all tensions or stress from our work-a-day life melt away.
We loved our stay at this private ocean view home. Although it is a partial ocean view it is quit nice and the sound of the waves and the fresh sea air make this feel very ocean front. The many French doors let in lots of light and when open the ocean sounds and breezes move through nicely. We liked the privacy in this gated community. The home is tucked in the trees with plenty of space and no homes within view. The hot tub on the deck is spacious and offers a nice ocean view. We found the home well stocked with everything, especially the kitchen where we even found cast iron skillets, our favorite way to cook. The upstairs bathroom has a clawfoot tub and the double shower is downstairs. The home is somewhat modest but cozy with plent of room and a good value. There was no extra charge for our dog and the cleaning fee was very reasonable at $100. It is close to Mendocino with its many art galleries and small shops. Go north or south for magnificent coastal drives, hikes, and beach walks. We highly recommend parking in the town of Elk and walking down to the beach. Several sea caves and natural bridges make it a special place. We also found a large abalone shell! Don't count on the WiFi, it did not work for us. My iPad worked well though with Verizon service.
We absolutely loved this place, its cosiness, how close it is to the coast, amenities and many other attractions (Mendocino, Fort Bragg, Cabrillo lighthouse etc..), its beautiful views of the ocean from the hot tub, its charm and especially how helpful and accommodating Stephen has been ever since we first showed interest in his place until I forgot a couple of earrings and he sent them back to me straight away!
Our dog loved running around the property, our 15 month old really liked opening all the different drawers in the coffee table and discovering all sorts of board games (there's a whole closet filled with just those!) and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed Stephen's attention to detail in the house (very well stocked up on towels and kitchen stuff amongst others!)
We look forward to coming back again for another birthday or romantic getaway very soon!
If you want a beautifully maintained home that has all the amenities you could wish for with complete privacy, this is the place for you. The owner was very prompt in responding to all my inquiries, very complete in instructions for the house, and delivered as promised. The beds and bedding were superior and the ocean view, while not panoramic, is stunning all the same. If rest and relaxation are your goal, this home will deliver.
We stayed here for just two nights but it was amazing. The owner is very helpful with local info. The house is well-stocked with dishes. It is remote yet close to the town of Mendocino. I wish we had longer to stay. Seeing the ocean view from the hot tub is just the best!
The house was perfect. Just as it looks in the pictures. Low-key, Cozy and very comfortable with plenty of space. I was there with my parents and our dogs for a winter escape and it did not disappoint. We all thoroughly enjoyed the proximity to lots of great things to do (Mendecino is wonderful as are Sonoma Napa and Anderson valleys. To name just a few). After a day of exploring we loved (dogs and all) sitting on the porch and watching the ocean, on a few occasions we saw whales go by. Fantastic! Stephan was easy to communicate with and very helpful. We cannot wait to book our next trip to Albion!
