Overview

Port Angeles House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-9)

You'll enjoy a one of a kind vacation experience in this lovely home. There are so many things you can do while vacationing in our area. Lake Sutherland boarders on the Olympic National Park. Such features as Lake Crescent, Merrymere Falls, and fantastic hiking trails are only minutes away. You will be a short drive away from such day trip adventures as Hurricane Ridge, SolDuc hot springs, ocean beaches, the ferry to Victoria, and Forks the home of Twilight fame. Lake Sutherland offers seasonal fishing to those with a Washington state fishing license.

Each bedroom is a master suite with its own bathroom. Enjoy sitting in one of two sunrooms that overlook Lake Sutherland. Grab a book and relax, or play on the lake. You can bring your boat or jet ski and tie off at our dock. Our lake is a great place to ski, wakeboard, tube, fish, or simply relax and take in the scenery.

The fall colors are spectacular. Our winters are generally mild. In the late fall, winter, and spring a creek flows by this cabin. Crack open a bedroom window and fall asleep to the sound of our gentle creek.

About Winston Wilson

We recently bought another waterfront home across the lake on a large parcel. It has become our primary residence with the possibility of adding a rental cottage on that property. We love the lake life.

Winston Wilson purchased this house in 2000

Why Winston Wilson chose Port Angeles

We had lived in the home we are currently renting on VRBO since 2000. We love Lake Sutherland and bought a cabin across the lake that has becoming our new home. The mountains that surround our lake give the feel of being in one of the great western mountain resort settings.

What makes this house unique

I love to go out on the lake and Jetski, water ski, wakeboard, tube, pull our grand kids behind the boat, or just sit out on the dock and read a book.

Amazing house with heavenly view!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for 5 days! It was our first time visiting Port Angeles, we came for my first marathon race (North Olympic Discovery Marathon). We are so happy that we stayed in this gorgeous home! The view is breath-taking!! The house is specious, cozy, and clean. You can definitely see that the owner took a lot of pride, hard work, and love in building the house. My kids (6 year old daughter and 2 year old son) LOVE the lake, they enjoyed fishing and kayaking the entire weekend!! My daughter actually caught her first fish, which is pretty AWESOME! They are having so much fun that they don't want to leave. :) We look forward on staying in this house again on our next visit in Port Angeles. Winston and Connie, thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your great review. I often ask our guest to take the time to put in a review, I wish more did. We do appreciate the time you took to write up a review and the fun story about your daughter catching her first fish. I was about her age when I caught my first fish and at the age of 63, I still remember it clearly. Thanks again Winston and Connie

Absolute Dream

  • 5 of 5

We just got married on 3/15/15 and my parents bought us a week at this cabin. The owners were very nice to my mother and when my new wife and I arrived in Washington they helped us when we got lost. Very caring and kind. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous. The pictures do no justice. The location was so serene and beautiful. The house was spotless and we loved every minute of the stay. It was fully equipped with everything! The owner's even bought us roses to congratulate us on our wedding. The location is perfectly situated between Port Angeles and Forks. My wife (a huge twilight fan) enjoyed the fact that we were so close to Forks. (40-50 minutes)

We absolutely look forward to returning to this wonderful hidden paradise. It was the best honeymoon ever. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Owner's Response: Connie and I are always thankful when our guests take the time to give us a review. We were on our honeymoon 43 years ago, and the memories are as vivid today as if it was yesterday. Part of our trip took us through Sedona and the Grand Canyon area, we stopped late one night at this quaint little hotel that was like you stepped back into Andy of Mayberry. It was run by a sweet older couple that treated us so kindly and encouraging regarding this brand new adventure that we were on. May your years ahead be blessed and full of great memories. Again thanks for the kind review, Winston and Connie

Winter Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

Two girlfriends and I stayed at Winston and Connie's home for an extended weekend in November. The house was perfect, everything we were expecting and so much more. There are three full bedrooms, each with a private bathroom: one upstairs and two all the way downstairs. The main level of the home has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, breakfast nook and great room (where we spent most of our time). There's a small TV upstairs in the den outside the third bedroom and a one down in the master bedroom. Not that you'd want to watch TV here anyway but we did hook up our Chromecast one night for a movie. The house is equipped with great wifi (used with our Chomecast and for work VPN). The house is right on the water. There's a dock out back with a diving board! We took a few dips in the water even though it was very, very cold. Had to test it out for our return trip this summer!

The house is just outside of Port Angeles; we were about 20 minutes from downtown. We drove in for dinner at Michael's one night and then realized we could cook better at home. We also had a day trip to Forks and La Push and a short excursion to Marymere Falls. Less hike, more nature walk. The closest grocery store is in Port Angeles- there's an Albertson's and a Safeway. If you're coming from Forks, there's also a nice Thrift Way there.

I cannot recommend Winston and Connie's home highly enough, they built it with lots of love and it's wonderful to share. Winston was always on call and incredibly hospitable, although we only needed him once (and I don't even recall why). There were little touches all over the place that made this feel like home: spices in the cabinet, laundry detergent by the washing machine; small comforts that we surely appreciated. We cannot wait to come back again.

Girls' Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Three of us cuddled into this spacious and comfy home for 4 days. We found it carefully cleaned, and well-supplied for our needs. Enjoyed a little kayaking, sunning, birdwatching and sleeping! (Great beds!) Enjoyed a sunny October afternoon on the lakeside patio, which had a very useful BBQ for at home dinners. House is central to many Olympic hikes and scenery. We had a great lunch at Lake Crescent Lodge... highly recommended.... and close! A quiet, serene stay. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!

Owner's Response: Connie and I love it when our guests have a great time and let us know about it. We built this home to entertain our own family, when we found another home on the lake that was a great fixer upper, we turned this much loved home on the lake into a vacation rental. It means a lot to us that all the work that we have put into this labor of love is appreciated. Thanks so much for taking the time to share with us about your stay. Winston and Connie

In my Backyard all along!

  • 5 of 5

While driving from Tacoma WA, up the Olympic Peninsula, we found this Lake Sutherland property very easy to find. However we also found it to be secluded, in it's own way.

After driving through the " gated entry " we came upon an extremely charming home.

While walking into and around this home, we found 2100 sq. feet of heartfelt beauty!

There is so much space for one to collect thoughts, if needed, however Reality IS In Front, Around and In this home.

While enjoying the sun porch area, we were taken in by the lake but the wildlife as well, as just to capture your heart. Smiles and Laughs are to be had in this area. I will never forget My Eagle, who perched on top of a tree, 20 feet away! :)

If you are looking for adventure, you have just found It!

Other than is what is already available here, wonderful excursions, outdoor adventures etc are a breath away.

By far the best, Girls Getaway, VRBO stay thus far!

I will give this area 5 Diamonds!

The owners have impeccable taste, as well as being a close phone call away to answer any and all questions.

Thank you Winston and Connie!

I will be back........

Owner's Response: We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at our Lake house. If you get up early in the morning you also may see river otters playing off of the dock. Yes there is an abundance of wildlife to take in, depending on the season there are several varieties of ducks, there are Canadian geese, deer, squirrels and jays, and always so much to do. Thanks, Winston and Connie

The Best Cabin on the Lake!

  • 5 of 5

We just spent the last week of August enjoying this wonderful cabin with another couple. From the moment we walked in the front door, we were charmed with the accents and decor that filled every single room. Before breakfast, we would have our coffee sitting on chairs on the dock, where we saw both otter and eagle! It was fun to grill pancakes for breakfast, and dine at the big table overlooking the lake. We went hiking each day, to Crescent Lake

trails, Ruby Beach, The Hoh Rain Forest, Sol Duc, the Hurricane Ridge Trail, and the Elwah trails. Each day was sunny and clear with vistas and views beyond compare. When we would return to the cabin for the evening, we would sit near the water under the umbrella table and enjoy conversation about the day, and watch the fun water sports on the lake.

This cabin was perfect in every single way. We highly recommend it to all the world.
