La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Townhome Rental Photos and Description

Townhome, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

Beachfront with private pool, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom Casa Pamela is a luxurious vacation home located in the exclusive gated and secure community of La Puntilla, just 5 minutes from Bucerias and 20 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport on Mexico's Pacific coast. This area of the Mexican Riviera is quickly becoming known as 'Riviera Nayarit'. From Casa Pamela you can walk into the nearby fishing village of La Cruz de Huanacaxgtle (La Cruz) in less than 10 minutes. A casual walk on the beach to Bucerias will take just over an hour or you can drive or take the bus into Bucerias in 5 to 8 minutes.

Casa Pamela is the epitome of elegance and comfort and is decorated with whimsical artwork and Mexican Folk Art throughout. Sliding glass doors across the living room, dining area and master bedroom span the entire width of the house and provide a spectacular view over the pool, the gardens and the ocean. In the living room, in addition to comfortable furniture, tucked away in an armoire you will find a new 32 inch flat screen TV with English Language Satellite, DVD player, VCR and video collection, CD player and CD's as well as a collection of books and board games. In the dining area there is a large glass-topped dining table surrounded by four high back wrought iron chairs, accented by a mirrored wall and beautiful artwork.

The king-size master bedroom and en-suite master bath with soaker tub and shower opens onto the poolside patio where you can watch the spectacular sunrises over Banderas Bay from the patio, or right from your bed!

The second and third bedrooms, both have a queen-size bed and a twin bed and look onto the landscaped front garden. There are two full bathrooms with marble showers adjacent to the second and third bedrooms.

The three bedrooms are air conditioned and there are ceiling fans and sparkling white marble floors throughout the house. The fully equipped white tiled kitchen is complete with refrigerator, four burner gas stove with oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and blender. As well, there is a laundry room off the kitchen with full-size washer and dryer.

Bring along your laptop and use the complimentary wireless internet or connect to the high speed modem. We offer FREE PHONE CALLS to the US and Canada -- no computer required.

Step outside to your own private oasis surrounded by shimmering waters and a spectacular oceanfront view. In the morning, relax on the patio with a cup of coffee and watch the sun make its way over the mountains. Spend the day lounging in the beautiful pool or sunbathing on the poolside patio. The beach, relatively private and without vendors, is just steps away across the palm lined common garden. At night, the lights of Bucerias and Puerto Vallarta shimmer in the distance across the Bay of Banderas.

Enjoy a cool, relaxing drink in the shade of the full length overhang where you can read a good book, play games, watch the birds and sea life and the wide expanse of the Bay before you. From Casa Pamela it's an easy and enjoyable stroll into the village of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle for shopping and restaurants or a visit to the shops and restaurants at new Marina La Cruz. There are several fresh fish markets at the marina where you can purchase a variety of fish, shrimp, oysters, etc for very reasonable prices. A Sunday Market offers fresh produce, Mexican treats to nibble on and a hugh selection of good quality Made in Mexico crafts.

A security guard is at the gated entrance 24 hours a day, and a security patrolman is on the beach in the evenings and throughout the night. Our English/Spanish speaking Property Managers will greet you after your arrival to answer any of your questions. A guest handbook in the house details pool, lawn, and housekeeping service, and we provide a list of things to do as well as a list of some of our favourite restaurants and places for evening entertainment.

Casa Pamela is wheelchair accessible and as a non-smoking home, we invite you to smoke outside or on the patio only, please. A well behaved pet may be permitted, with prior approval.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a great time at Casa Pamela--very nice accommodation! We took the bus into Puerto Vallarta one day--a nice town but far too touristy for me. We preferred the little village of La Cruz. The market/store near Philo’s (Restaurant and Bar in La Cruz) is the one to go to, it has all the fresh produce and lots of it!It would have been more convenient to have a rental car, but you were right, the roads were very congested during the big Mexican holiday week! I would love to come back one day for the Tequila tour and do some fishing. All the information you provided before our arrival was great. We ate at Hidden Paradise just down the beach, had a great meal at Frascati in La Cruz and spent Thursday evening at Philo's for open mike night! One night Lettie and Jesus cooked dinner for us and another night we bought a delicious barbequed chicken and brought it "home" to Casa Pamela. Wonderful meals the entire time! Thanks again for everything, we hope to return to Casa Pamela soon!.

Our home away from home!!

  • 5 of 5

We are 2 couples from Colorado and we have been renting homes throughout Mexico and Belize for 20 years. We rented Casa Pamela Nov. 2013 and again in March 2014 and have it scheduled for Nov. 2014 again! The rental manager, Marilyn, is one of the few I have dealt with that answers immediately and sends thorough and complete directions for the area and the house. The house is beautiful and in excellent condition and located an easy and quick walk to La Cruz where we buy fresh fish or meat at Kenny's Meat Market, fresh produce at the little stores. We have met a wonderful cab driver and he waits for us every day to give us a ride back with our groceries. He is learning English and we are learning Spanish from him. We enjoy the evenings cooking out on the grill and relaxing while taking in the ocean scenery (can't find a better view with all the boats and the lights of PV and Nuevo across the bay) and taking evening swims in the pool. Casa Pamela has always been spotless and, a big surprise for Mexico, all appliances, toilets, etc. work!!!!!! Everyone who works to keep Casa Pamela in such great condition are friendly and fun to get to know, the maid, the gardener, the pool man, the guards. We also love Canelo, La Puntilla's dog. He is sweet and friendly, but will leave you alone if you want. He will also go for walks with you!!! We have always felt extremely safe at Casa Pamela and now we can't wait to get to our second home in the sun this November and already have plans to go back in March 2015!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to submit such a thoughtful review. We are so glad you have enjoyed your stays at Casa Pamela – but what’s not to enjoy I always think, especially with the luxury of having your own private swimming pool. I agree the house is in the perfect location being such a short walk to La Cruz for shopping and restaurants and the views can’t be beat – from early morning sunrises, the views of the sailboats anchored in front of the house and the twinkling lights of Bucerias, Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta across the Bay. I will be sure to pass on your kind words and comments to the staff including Chava, the housekeeper, Chilo and his group of gardeners, the pool man and the security staff at the entrance gate. I am sure Canelo will welcome you back for your third stay next month and I look forward to being able to accommodate you many more times. It has always been a pleasure working with you and your group. Thanks once again and enjoy your next vacation at Casa Pamela. Marilyn

Threadbare linens and totally stripped

  • 1 of 5

We stayed here 3 times, and on each occasion we were assured that the quality of the property and contents would be improved. However, it has disintegrated to the point of actual threadbare linens on the beds. And as indicated by the dishonest and rude leasing agent, this property will b closed for bookings in April 2015. Thank you to the owner who issued a partial refund for the dishonesty and for stripping the property of the art and decor. The pictures are as deceiving as the leasing agent, to say the least. The propane explosion at the hospital in Mexico in January that killed several people was a horrible reminder of the propane tank on the roof of the property that wasn't serviced since 1997. Propane tanks MUST be serviced every 10 yrs. Everything has been documented with pictures and emails. So not only is the place falling apart, literally, it hasn't been properly maintained by the owner AND was a death trap. Our dollar store clock that we brought, and the maid broke and we threw away, was taken out of the garbage and hung on the wall in the living room. Dirty cutlery and kitchen tools, dirty hairy unvacuumed carpets, dirty gadgets and broken doors. Dead fauna inside and out, prior to and during our 2 week stay. The Satellite receiver has been replaced with other outdated receivers on each of our visits because it hasn't been updated for years, according to the models used. Cracked glasses, mismatched pots and pans, stained towels, dirty and stained bathrooms, peeling paint, rusty fan blades, mismatched patio furniture that's fallin apart, and not one of 3 shower heads that work more than a half open garden hose. We gave fair notice of simple and inexpensive solutions to upgrade to the level of an average 3 star resort in Mexico, which is not hard to achieve. The ONLY thing this place has going for it is its on the beach with a private pool, too bad it's so neglected and horribly rundown. We DO NOT recommend this place for anyone.

BEWARE! Construction noise next door!

  • 3 of 5

Casa Pamela is a lovely home in a great location. It looks just as the pictures show. It was quite comfortable for 3 couples. The only problem was the LOUD construction noise from the attached house next door. Beware if you are visiting anytime soon that you will not be able to enjoy the pool from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 pm due to the saws, hammers and drills. This has been going on for some time and looks to be a very involved project that is not anywhere near completion. The owners are well aware of the problem. They would not discount our stay after we complained.

Dirty and rude

  • 1 of 5

The Dishwasher was burnt, yes, burnt. The racks were somehow burnt. Have pics. The film that was left on the dishes, cups and cutlery were brought to the attention of the mngrs. Nothing. I cleaned what we used and we also bought plastic cups, mugs, knives, dishes and a tea kettle. Pics of that too. There were mice, and mouse droppings, cockroaches and sugar ants. ALL food was kept in the fridge. Some pics, and emails to confirm those statements to be true. They advertised a 42"TV and it was only a 32"tv. The Satellite box was so old it didn't work and the mngrs took a week of our 3wk vacation to replace it with one of theirs that they don't use anymore. The box spring in master bdrm is bigger than the mattress. The screen door doesn't open and close properly in the mstr bdrm. The screen doors in the living room had to be kept shut with hair bands. I Do not recommend this place.

Owner's Response: It is surprising you do not recommend Casa Pamela as it is 10 months after your second stay at the house (in less than one year) and you are booked for your third stay which you reserved before the end of your last visit. After receiving this review I offered you a full refund but you declined. A new dishwasher was installed in late January however the white film is caused by the high calcium content in the water in La Cruz. New dishes and cutlery were purchased last fall and there were only three groups at the house before your arrival so I am at a loss as to why you felt the need to purchase plastic dinnerware and cutlery. I understand there were mice in the house after your arrival on December 21 but the mice were not seen in the house a week before that. I believe they may have been in the box of your personal belongings you left (without authorization) after your first stay in April. As we cannot be responsible for your possessions, your box was removed from the house and stored in an outdoor (secure) storage shed in La Cruz. The box was returned to Casa Pamela sometime during the 10 day period when the house was vacant just prior to your arrival on December 21 2013. As soon our property manager was made aware of the mice, the exterminators were called and the situation was resolved in three days. At that time you did mention to him that you saw one cockroach. Sugar Ants are a nuisance in any tropical country and they seem to be able to smell a crumb from a mile away but storing food in the fridge and off the counters is the best way to try deal with them. I’m sorry if your vacation was negatively impacted with the box spring in the master bedroom being one inch larger than the king sized mattress. However, when the new mattress was purchased, that was the size mattress that was available in Puerto Vallarta. Three years ago when the old TV was replaced with a new flat screen model, the largest size that would fit in the entertainment unit was a 32 inch model and I have since corrected this error. The TV and the Satellite box (as well as the dishwasher and mattress) are the same items that were in the house during your first stay in April 2013 but we did not receive any feedback during or after that visit. The screen doors were replaced in winter 2013 but with the high humidity the sliders do stick. We will have the screen doors serviced before your arrival in December – your third stay at Casa Pamela in less than 2 years.

A marvelous property!

  • 5 of 5

My family and a friend's family spent 10 nights at Casa Pamela over Christmas 2011 and New Year's 2012. I think that the most descriptive comment that I can make comes from our shared comment the first morning of our visit, sharing coffee as we sat looking at the Bay of Banderas from a back yard table: "Wow, I can't BELIEVE it's really this nice." But it was.

Initially concerned about safety, we felt VERY safe, between the laid-back nature of La Cruz, the on-site staff, and we learned that the governor of Nayarit lives within 200 yards of the Casa... With enhanced security there!

The descriptions and photos of Casa Pamela are perfectly accurate. The home was clean on our arrival, and everything was well-maintained. We had the need for some minor maintainence while there, and the local property manager was quick to respond. Marilyn, the leasing agent, was prompt and professional in all of our interactions, and we had the added plus of meeting her and her husband while at Casa Pamela.

Her recommendation of Gecko Rent-a-Car netted us a new Chevy Suburban and great service at hundreds less than we would have paid from on-airport rental agencies.

We dined five of our ten nights at Frascati in La Cruz. The service and the food were incredible at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Most memorable for our 9-year-old niece: the pool, and the inexpensive horseback rides sold by people going up and down the beach during the day.

I have spent much of my time back recommending Casa Pamela to family and to friends. I offer the same recommendation to the reader.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at Casa Pamela -- but then, what's not to enjoy! It is unfortunate people are staying away from Mexico with all the bad press, but if they only realized this area of Mexico is very safe, but at the same time, everyone should use caution, just as at home. It was a pleasure meeting you and we thoroughly enjoyed your niece as she was such a pleasant little girl and she obviously loved to swim and was very excited when she saw the horses on the beach. We have always enjoyed our meals at Frascatti and the staff at Gecko Rent a Car in Bucerias really do go out of their way to accommodate visitors. Many thanks, and I look forward to being able to accommodate you again.

Our stay at Casa Pamela was wonderful. This was our second year of spending a week here and we again found the house and pool to be delightful. The area is very safe and has none of the problems that are in the news for the border cities. Our arrangements and payment transaction was very smooth and convenient with lots of helpful information regarding the restaurants and shops nearby. We have found this to be a serene get-away for a break from the Kansas winter weather.
