Situated
in one of the Historic districts of St. Augustine, a stone path lined with indigenous ferns leads you to your
own vacation get-away, Garden Villa. The
Garden Villa provides the perfect vacation get-away for those who want to
express their artistic personality, or simply desire to sit amongst the birds
and the butterflies of the luscious garden and enjoy a good book. This two-bedroom, one-bath Garden Villa is
the main section of a home built in 1936; while the adjoining guest Villa is
rented separately.
The
neighborhood surroundings, the streets, the home, the ambience, all portray the
ever-lasting presence of history that makes St. Augustine so enjoyable. Enjoy free and secure on-street parking at
the Garden Villa and indulge yourself in a short ten-minute stroll through the
streets lined with spanish moss covered oak trees where you will come upon The
Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park; this Historic site is where St.
Augustine began in 1565 as Spanish Explorer Pedro Menendez de Aviles
established the first and oldest continuous European Settlement in the United
States of America.
After
walking around the same site that was once walked by the famous explorer you
return to your Garden Villa. Upon
entering the Federal architectural styled Villa you’re greeted by your very own
guard dog, (a statue no-less), that sits patiently for your arrival in the
foyer. The staircase leads you to your
rest and relaxation rooms; while through the foyer and into the living room you
will find ample seating for you and your friends or family to participate in a
discussion or to plan the details of your next adventure. If catching up on the weather or the current
news, the entertainment center offers a TV with cable that offers a variety of
channels for your viewing pleasure.
If the
walk and sights has brought on an appetite that you can no longer ignore then
you will find all the amenities you would need in the well appointed kitchen
with newer appliances to make a meal fit for a king. Enjoy your meal in the formal dining room as
you enjoy the garden views through the glass French doors leading to the
screened lanai. Or if you’d rather; cook
your meal on the propane-fed BBQ grill within the screened lanai; which offers
you a great way to enjoy your meal with the security of having an opaque paneled
roof to keep the occasional Florida rain from spoiling your plans.
As the
sun begins to set, and the heat of the day dissipates, take a stroll through
your garden that is symbolic of a world full of peace and tranquility. Enjoy the evening within the garden as you
relax on the park bench beneath the trees sipping a glass of southern sweet tea
while partaking in all the beauties that the vegetation, the flowers and the
vast variations of birds and butterflies have to offer.
The day
of activities and sights nears an end as you head upstairs to the full bathroom
in order to prepare yourself for a much needed restful night sleep in
preparation for the next day’s adventure. Along the path from the full bathroom to the two bedrooms you spot the
media/reading room where you can relax and divulge yourself in one of the many
great books located throughout the Villa, or to simply watch a movie as your body
winds down.
Finally,
you have the choice of two bedrooms to lay your weary bodies. The master bedroom offers a queen-sized bed,
along with a TV, and plenty of storage to place your clothes and belongings
during your stay. While the secondary
bedroom offers two twin-sized beds, a closet, and a table-style desk to setup
your laptop and connect to the free Wi-Fi so that you can browse the many
sights and restaurants St. Augustine has to offer on your next day’s adventure.
From the dog who
greets you upon your arrival, to the tranquil lush garden, to its close
proximity to the Historic downtown St. Augustine, the Garden Villa has many amenities
to make your get-away in St. Augustine accommodating.
