For discerning visitors, the choice is clear - a little less crowded, a lot quieter, and more residential in character than its bustling neighbors, Seabrook Island’s maritime forest and ecology are becoming a clearly desirable alternative vacation. Our beaches are nesting grounds for the loggerhead turtles and the forested acres inland are home to fox, deer, bobcat and a dizzying assortment of bird life. You are welcome to bring your own wildlife as long as we discuss with you how your pet will be managed. Amenity card charges are included for rentals from May - August and available during non-summer months.
Our shady, and secluded vacation home lies within the gated community of Seabrook Island on a cul-de-sac in the Lakes Section of Seabrook. The property has hardwood floors throughout, a fully furnished kitchen, two-car garage, 2+ bedrooms (queen, twins) and 2+ baths. Enjoy the forty foot living room/dining room and a separate small den with queen sofa-bed. An expansive, tree-shaded deck runs the length of the home and overlooks a lagoon just steps away.
The deck contains patio furniture and gas grill for use by our guests, and is accessible through sliders from the living room, master bedroom and den. Two Island cruiser bicycles are available for guests.
A beautiful wide swath of ocean beach is 3 minutes by car, 10 minutes biking and is adjacent to the property owners’ pool complex. Club membership privileges are available, giving users access to two world quality golf courses, the equestrian and tennis centers, and use of several pools, all within moments from the home.
The charming city of Charleston, SC is 22 miles from Seabrook’s gate, a picturesque 30 minute drive through the Low County. This typically Southern city, with its vibrant history and world-class restaurants and shopping received the #4 ranking in 2004 Travel and Leisure’s Top Destinations in the United States, offering an ideal break from the days of tanning, biking, and general relaxing on the Island. Aquarium, IMAX, outdoor markets, historical homes abound.
The Newton Farms supermarket, various restaurants, Starbucks, and specialty stores in the newly built Freshfields Village are two minutes from Seabrook’s gate.

Both a clothes washer and dryer are available for use by our guests.

Peter and Janet Smiles purchased this house in 2005
Fell in love with the Island and its natural beauty, especially its variety of living accommodations and its non-development feel.
Beautiful home! Quiet, secluded, perfect home away from home. The deck...... is fabulous, we had a visit from the alligator, saw bald eagles, lots of deer, and two many different birds to name. Our family will be back to this property. The property owner was so easy to work with...Thank you for the use of your beautiful home!
We have been vacationing on Seabrook Island for over 15 years and can not believe it took us so long to find this gem of a home. This home was spacious, clean and THAT DECK is AMAZING! There were 3 well maintained bikes (not always the case), beach chairs for renter use and we were able to bring a four legged family member. We would definitely rent again.
We stayed at for a week for our honeymoon. The property was impressively clean and well maintained. They provided pretty much everything you would need for your stay (incl. all small appliances, bbq, dish soap, etc., all the little things & more). It's the perfect little hideaway yet still close to everything that would make for a perfect, relaxing vacation. Dealing with the property owners was a pleasure, they made communication very easy, and can tell they put a lot of time and effort into making your stay as comfortable as possible. We were impressed by everything about our stay, and will hopefully come back sooner rather than later! I would highly recommend staying there, whether you are a couple or a family, there is lots to do within minutes, and you will never get bored of the scenic drives and surroundings! Thanks you for a perfect honeymoon!!!!!
The house is beautiful, comfortable, the deck view is spectacular and the Smiles are incredilbly nice to deal with. We're already planning a return trip for next year. Seabrook has so much to do, we were exhausted every night and the vacation flew past. If it were possible to give a ten-star rating for the house and the Smiles, I'd give it!
We have been coming to Seabrook for 26 years and in the last few years have stayed at this house multiple times. We consider it a lucky find. It's a great value and very nice. The house is spacious and clean and the back deck on the river is very tranquil and peaceful. Our two dogs enjoy the nearby beach where they receive several walks a day among all the other as fortunate dogs. Seabrook is paradise at its South Carolina best and Peter and Janet are great to deal with. And, the neighbors are fine. We've met them and they are very nice. They just like to have their property respected. Nothing unusual in that. Thanks Peter and Janet for sharing your home with us.
If you are looking for a relaxing vacation surrounded by beautiful scenery this is the place for you. The house is so beautiful and relaxing. We loved it!
If you are looking for fun things to do without leaving the development there is the beach which is very close and very calm, great for little ones and your family dog. There is also a pool which our family enjoyed.
For things to do off of the development. We visited Angel Oak, The Charleston Tea Plantation and of course we went into Charleston for the day, it was all amazing.
There is also a neighborhood alligator that will visit everyday in the lagoon, our family named him Herman, he just visits and doesn't leave the water. He is accompanied by some turtles as well. My family so enjoyed this.
In the South they have a saying, "Start your day off slow and taper off from there." For our family it is just what we needed, thank you for many wonderful memories. The Shellhamer's, PA
