Nice Place... not nice beach

I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was happy with the location.
The vacation rental was very clean.
The property manager was more than helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.

My family of 4 stayed here for 8 nights in Jan.
The condo itself was nice. The beach was the worst one I seen on Maui. Rocky sand and stinky, seaweed ocean. Not a place to swim. Sunsets would be nice, suntanning would be fine too, but if you're looking for a place to step outside and be directly on a nice beach to go for a swim you're looking at the wrong place. Best, closest beaches would be Kamaole beach (2?).
The unit was nice, but like another guest mentioned it's NOT two king beds. One kind and one queen. Which, the queen turned out to be more comfortable so our 4yr old daughter got the king bed all to herself... somehow that seems wrong... ;)
We verified the unit would have a blender, and it did but it was broken. We needed one for our baby and 4yr old. We asked the management to please get us a replacement or new part which they never did. Pretty disappointed as it was a pain to prepare food without it (specific diet for baby).
We were also disappointed in the few items it was stocked with. For example we were only given 3 rolls of toilet paper for a family of 4 for 9 days. And the tinfoil was stocked but the roll was empty. There also wasn't any cooking oil or anything. Would have been nice for a few more things to be included so we didn't have to buy a full container of oil or large block of butter for it to only be used once or twice. Lot of wasted food :(
Grocery store is right behind condo... 2 minute walk which was very handy.
Overall I would rate it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Decent place but not great location. Because we had kids and wanted immediate beach access I wouldn't stay here again... I'd find a place that has a nice beach right out front. If the beach isn't top priority for you, then it's a good choice for a fair price!
