You can walk to good restaurants, stores and rental shops for bikes, snorkel gear, kayaks, videos, whatever your needs may be. The Kihei boat launch is less than a mile away and from here you can go on snorkeling and diving adventures. A car is not a necessity but if you want one for a few days, there are convenient rental agencies in town.

The truth about construction noise: Some travel guide books have mentioned that there is noisy construction next door. That project ceased building 2 years ago and there is no construction nearby to cause a noise problem.
