THE BASS LAKE LODGE - FALL 2014 FILLING UP QUICKLY!

Traverse City House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-6)

Welcome to the Bass Lake Lodge! Where you will find the beauty of a quiet lake and amenities to make you feel like you are at home. Pets are NOT allowed and No Smoking inside the rental.

The Bass Lake Lodge is located on Bass Lake six miles outside of Traverse City. Bass Lake is a small, spring-fed lake that is nestled between Silver Lake and Long Lake. It is a 343 acre all sports lake which offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. It also offers beautiful fall colors!

There are four islands on the lake, each one making it more unique. There is a small public beach and boat launch which is located one mile away from the house. The south end of the lake is surrounded by State Lands and a girl scout camp, which offers a nice spot for fishing.

The Bass Lake Lodge is centrally located; six miles to Traverse City and seven miles to Interlochen. (Interlochen is home to the Interlochen Center for the Arts National Music Camp.)

The Bass Lake Lodge is 1350 square feet and is filled with knotty pine paneling and tongue and groove boards throughout the home, which gives it a beautiful 'cabin' feeling.

Remodeled in winter of 2009 - new carpeting, light fixtures, drywall/paint, porcelain and limestone tile.

The bathroom was remodeled in winter of 2010 - new tub, porcelain tile and commode. A new couch, reclining chairs and dining room table set were added as well.

A custom kitchen was added in the fall of 2011; offering hickory cabinets (filled with everything imaginable to make cooking meals a breeze). A new 'larger' refridgerator (with an icemaker and water dispenser) and a dishwasher were added. The porcelain floor tile accentuates the coordinating countertoop and backsplash - which give you lots of room for preparing food.

The landscape of the home has soft grass (summertime) and lots of flowers. A bonfire pit is located near the water and is surrounded by a large concrete patio. (Firewood is provided for your convenience.) There is a large deck on the back of the home which overlooks the lake and a beautiful sunrise. There is a 4' x 40' dock with a 8' x 16' patio on the water. The rental includes the use of a row boat and a 5 person paddle boat (summertime only). Life jackets are provided.

There is also (private) WIFI at the rental.

Come to The Bass Lake Lodge to relax and enjoy beautiful Northern Michigan.

About Jennifer

Originally built by my Father and Grandfather, the rental has been part of my family for many years. Throughout the years it has been remodeled, with the most recent updates being done in winter of 2009 and winter 2010. I grew up down the street from the rental, then resided in it for several years until a job transfer moved me out of town. At which time I turned it into a vacation rental. Since then, I have moved back and now live across the street from the rental.

The neighborhood is definately the place to be! I refer to it as my own little piece of Heaven. Most of the residents in the area have been there for quite some time. It is located off of the 'beaten path' but is still close to everything!

I have put a lot of thought into the rental with the intention of making your vacation as easy and enjoyable for you as possible. From linens to everything you might need in the kitchen as well as firewood and life vests are just a few of the no charge extras that I provide. It is exactly as it is advertised, no surprises! Previous guests have thanked me and provided me several nice comments on the rental, check out my comments from previous guests to learn more!

I hope you will be as excited to vacation at The Bass Lake Lodge as I am to live in this wonderful area!

Jennifer purchased this house in 2000

Why Jennifer chose Traverse City

This home was built by my Father and Grandfather. After purchasing it and living in it for several years, I turned it into a vacation rental as my job took me out of town for several years. I enjoy the rental business and decided to keep it going after I returned to the area.

What makes this house unique

The Bass Lake Lodge is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood that is conveniently located to Traverse City, Interlochen and many other area attractions. It is set on a 343 acre, all sports lake which offers great fishing, beautiful views and lots of wildlife. The rental is filled with lots of extra amenities that will make your vacation that much better! The rental has a fantastic view of the sunrise as well. And, the owner lives nearby in case you need anything special.

A true Northern Michigan experience

  • 5 of 5
Far enough away from the busy-ness of Traverse City & close to quiet, solitude, nature and relaxation. Fishing is great--bass & bluegill. Fantastic sunrises. Bring your camera & binoculars. Our autumn stay was ideally timed and I look forward to spending time on Bass Lake in the summer & winter as well. Can you imagine the lake frozen...ice skating, ice fishing and staying cozy & warm by the wood burning fireplace. And in the summer! What a great place for swimming & playing in the sun. Stay here and you'll experience the best Northern Michigan has to offer at an affordable price in a clean, comfortable home.

Wonderful vacation destination

  • 5 of 5
My family of four (kids 7 and 9) had a wonderful time at the Bass Lake Lodge. We have vacationed in Traverse City many times but the first time on Bass Lake. The location is great! We found the cottage exceptionally clean and comfortable and stocked with everything you would need to feel at home, and then some! My son (9) caught 7 fish in the lake. The lake was very quiet. Not really a sandy bottom for swimming but throw some water shoes on and the kids did okay. Great value for what you get!! We hope to return some day.

Relaxing and Peaceful Vacation

  • 5 of 5
Our family of five enjoyed our stay at Bass Lake Lodge. We arrived to a very clean home which is always my first concern. There was a welcome basket of items for making s'mores, which my kids thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you! Jennifer keeps the house equipped with what you need to enjoy your stay. We cooked many meals in the kitchen and it was stocked with what we needed to do that. The little extras that Jennifer provides is so nice. We brought our own beach towels but it was so nice to have hers as extras and the firewood for the campfires are just two examples.

We brought our speed boat and enjoyed using the lake for swimming and boating. The dock for putting the boat in is very close to the house which was very convenient. The lake was not busy which was amazing with 3 kids who love to be out in the water. The pier at Bass Lake Lodge is very nice!

The area is nice and feels safe even for a morning/evening run which I did multiple times enjoying the different scenery. You are close enough to town but far enough way to enjoy the peacefulness of the lake and area. While here, we went into Traverse City a couple of times and visited Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Our only complaint for the week was the weather. Who would have thought mid July would be to cool to do much boating?! As for the house, lake, and area we couldn't have been more pleased. We hope to come back and if we do we will be staying at Bass Lake Lodge.

Thank you again Jennifer for the use of your home. It was a great place for us to spend time as a family:)

We used this great cottage as our base to explore the Traverse City, Northern Michigan area. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. If we vacation in the area again, we would love to stay here!

Thanks!

Fantastic Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5
This place was amazing! My family of four, including two young boys, had an awesome time!. Everything was perfect, from the basket of s'more fixin's to the games and books for the boys to the fishing it was just perfect. The neighbors were really friendly and helpful. The facilities were perfect for us and the new finishes on the house were great. If you want to catch some bass then I would definitely recommend this lake. I was practically throwing the lure into their mouths. I caught a bunch from the dock! I would definitely recommend this place and would like to go back in the future.

Late Fall Getaway

  • 5 of 5
This was our second trip to Bass Lake Lodge and it was well worth the trip. Jennifer has done many updates in the five years since we were there the first time that make the lodge more beautiful. The kitchen has been updated and is well stocked with all you need to prepare meals at the lodge. The bedrooms are nicely furnished and the living room is cozy and comfortable. We spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace with movies on the tv, because our plans were to spend a lot of time relaxing....and that is what we did. We did make a trip to Elk Rapids and Cedar, we went to a craft show at one of the middle schools and found Moomers for some ice cream. The black squirrels came to the deck every day just so say hello, and chattered in the trees when we came and went. Because we came so late in the year, there wasn't much opportunity to use the deck, but the views from the living room of the water were beautiful....especially with the snow blowing and covering the trees. I would definately recommend the Lodge for your trip to Traverse City, it is close enough to do and see the area, but far enough away that you can stay out of the crowds (if it is that time of year) if that is what you like. Thanks for your hospitality Jennifer.
