The Lone Palm' is an amazing home 100 paces from the ocean at world famous Shacks Beach. Furnishings are all new and pristine, lovely high count cotton linens and big fluffy towels too. The partially shaded yard is fully fenced and the property is gated and very private. 'The Lone Palm' offers a total of 5 bedrooms, broken up into two large apartments. There is a 2 bedroom unit on the second floor and a 3 bedroom unit on the first floor... the perfect combination for a group or extended family getaway! The units may also be rented individually. Whole house rate is $500/night.
The House sleeps 10 adults comfortably.
ABSOLUTE maximum capacity for whole house is 14 people.
OUR 2 BEDROOM HOME......
The upstairs unit, known as 'The Upper Palm', is a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom unit offering a queen size bed in each bedroom as well as a full size sleeper sofa in the large livingroom. It has an awesome open floor plan with high ceilings that opens up to a huge deck overlooking a 50 acre horse farm and the ocean. Both bedrooms in the upper unit are air conditioned and also have ceiling fans. Rate is $250/night. The Upper Palm sleeps 4 adults comfortably.
ABSOLUTE maximum capacity for the 'Upper Palm' is 6 people.
OUR 3 BEDROOM HOME.......
The ground floor unit, known as 'The Lower Palm', offers 3 bedrooms/1 bath. 2 of the bedrooms have queen size beds, the other bedroom has a bunkbed (full size bed on bottom, twin on top). There is also a twin daybed in the den area. This unit is newly renovated and has an open, airy floor plan. All three bedrooms are air conditioned and also have ceiling fans. Rate is $250/night.
ABSOLUTE maximum capacity for the 'Lower Palm' is 8 people.
The 'Little Loo' is an additional full bath with shower, outside, overlooking the farm.
About the area.........
Isabela, Puerto Rico is located in the quiet North-West corner of Puerto Rico. Just a short 3 1/2 hour direct flight from JFK or Newark and there are no passports required for US Citizens.
Our home is just 10 minutes from the small Aguadilla Airport (airport code BQN) or a manageable drive from San Juan (SJU)(1hr 45min)
Situated at the end of a dead-end street, our house is just 100 steps from a quiet, private 5+ mile strip of undeveloped beach front. Isabela is a very serene area with very little to do...just simple pleasures.
The house is equipped with television with a nice library of DVDs. We do not have cable TV........enjoy the getaway!
If you need to be in touch with the cyber world, there is a nearby coffee shop with internet access, you can bring your laptop or use their desktop.
Towels and linens are provided as well as beach chairs.
Our VERY nearby attractions include 'Tropical Trailrides', just a short walk down the street, Ola Lola's Garden Bar, a lovely way to experience the local flavor, Villa Montana, a nearby quiet upscale resort w/restaurants and spa services on site, Shacks Beach, an amazing snorkeling/diving beach and surfing beach.
Our Isabela Beach House can be your headquarters to explore and enjoy the many nearby activities and attractions. Within minutes, you'll be at prime spots for World Class surfing, windsurfing and kite boarding, scuba diving and snorkeling. Only 10 minutes away is the 18-hole Punta Borinquen Golf Course, President Eisenhower's favorite, literally located at the northwest tip of the island on a plateau overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Across the street is the Punta Borinquen Tennis Club and nearby are bowling alleys, running track, theaters, shopping centers and a water park. The new ice skating rink provides cool times. Also only 10 minutes away is a new beginner to extreme skateboard park that is also a little kids play ground and water park.
The property is very versatile:
~ Great for an extended family vacation. The house is big enough that everyone can vacation together yet there is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space :)
~ The house is great for a girls get away! Spa services are available just a short walk down the beach at 'Villa Montana'.
~Awesome family house! The island offers a list of great daily adventures: rain forest with water falls, caving, horseback riding, beach beach beach! (list at house will give you lots of choices and details)

We first visited 'Shacks Beach' in 1999 and fell in love! We purchased 'The Lone Palm' in 2006. As a surfing/diving family, we find the area ideal. Located in the North-West corner of the island it is easy to find the perfect break on any given day.
Although the house is located at Shacks Beach it is not in a congested area, it is located at the end of a dead end street. A very serene setting with no traffic or noise.....except for a few horses riding by and a talkative nearby rooster :)
We are literally 100 steps from the ocean, accessed by a path through a canopy of palm trees.
Our very own beach offers amazing Kite Boarding, Snorkeling, Diving, Swimming and Beach Combing.........Miles of uninterrupted beach to stroll!
Within a short walking distance you'll find 'Ola Lola's' garden bar & cafe as well as Tropical Trail Rides, Villa Montana Resort, & Eclipse Restaurant.
The experience provided by the Lone Palm was truly amazing. The owners along with their local property overseer Danny made everything very easy and convenient. We very much enjoyed having morning coffee on the huge deck along with evening drinks after the sun set listening to the waves in the background. During the day the house is conveniently located to many activities including surf spots, local restaurants, fish markets, and scenic hikes to waterfalls. Our group of 6 all had nothing but good things to say and we all wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much for an amazing experience!
The Lone Palm was a pleasant surprise in our travels this year. The owners and the caretaker of the property were eager to help us in any way, provided everything we requested and then some and were extremely hospitable. The apartment was well maintained and comfortable and the location was a nice combination of private but centralized. Beaches, surfing, horseback riding, dining and much more. We plan on returning and thank everyone for making our stay so enjoyable.
Girls getaway was fabulous! There were 3 of us. My highlights were sitting in a chair on the beach (seriously paces from the house) with a book and the horseback riding. It is very well maintainedand clean with a quiet relaxed atmosphere.
The house host was attentive and checked in with us daily via text messaging to make sure we were set and encouraged us to ask any questions... And we did! We did not have many questions though because the owners were so informative before we even got there.
I can't wait until I return to Palm. It's a "no worries" kind of place :)
Just to let you all know, I did not get the slightest impression that the December party expressed.
We spent Christmas with our extended family ages 6 to 69. Everyone had a great time. The house is clean and well equipped. The location is great. The beach out front is beautiful and quiet. The house is very close to lots of activities. The house is on a quiet street but has easy access to other activities. We surfed each day at surfers beach, visited Rio Camuy, San Sebastián Waterfall, and visited Crashboats beach. The property manager was very friendly and helpful. We recommend this property for family vacations.
My children and I arrived at 3am and woke up to the prettiest, well stocked house with the sun shining in every window. We took the short stroll to the beach and were amazed by the aqua water, white beaches and almost complete privacy. The snorkeling was beautiful, my kids were able to go out on their own and I was able to completely kick back and relax. We ate breakfast and lunch at the house most days as it was like being home with a large, fully functioning kitchen. On the hotter evenings we used the A/C in the bedrooms which was a plus. Overall it was one of our best holidays and I would definitely go back but only if this house was available!!!
Private, relaxing, perfection
Our small extended family stayed at the house, renting both the upstairs and downstairs. It was the most low key, perfect vacation I have ever had. This house is wonderful, it had everything we needed plus the luxury of "Danny" who was like our concierge. He had every answer we needed, a wealth of information on the local area. We are accustomed to renting vacation homes where the keys are mailed to us, or left in a lock box......not this house, this is 5 star service. Place was very nice quality, clean and PERFECTLY located....end of a narrow private dead end street, on the beach.
Definitely bring snorkel gear the reef is amazing! We will be back and can't wait to bring friends
