7 person cabin with Moyie River frontage

1 bedroom (full-size), 1 loft (1 full, three twins), 2 bathroom log cabin with amenities of home. Kitchen, dining table, den, TV with DVD, phone service, front and back porch offer beautiful outdoor views. Washer and dryer facilities; outdoor pit and propane BBQ pit. You can take quiet walks and enjoy the outdoors or walk down to the river where you can sit and meditate or enjoy fishing. Rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing is also available. Idaho laws state you must wear life jackets. There are many nearby lakes you can fish, also.

Gus and I fell in love with Idaho three years ago. Our dream is to retire there one day. Currently our children are in school, so we cannot make that move, yet.

Bonners Ferry is a charming small town. It offers shopping, good food, and a friendly atmosphere. From the moment, Gus and I crossed the Kootenai River, we knew we had found home. People are so friendly, there's little to no crime, and our love for nature made it where we had to have a small piece of Idaho.

What makes this cabin unique

The Moyie River is a beautiful river that offers white water rafting adventure. Idaho law requires you wear a life vest any time you are in the water, and you must have a licensed guide when rafting parts of the Moyie River due to the caliber of white water.

If you enjoy snow skiing, Schweitzer Mountain in Sandpoint, Idaho has great skiing. Fast in and fast out - you can get in many runs. Tubing is also offered.

Many lakes and hiking trails are in the area, as many antique shops. Be sure to visit 3 mile Antique Store, the stores in downtown Bonners Ferry, and Sandpoint for your shopping fix. If you crave homemade pastries, go to The Bread Basket early for a delicious cinnamon roll. You can get bulk goods at Sharon's Country Store next door. The best pizza is found at Papa Byrd's pizza in Bonners Ferry. Make sure you have a hearty appetite, because the pizza is HUGE and the portions are large. Wallace, Idaho is about 2 1/2 hours south of Bonners Ferry. This is where they filmed Dante's Peak. For adventure, grab a bike and ride the Hiawatha Trail.

Gus's Log Cabin is located in northern Idaho approximately 3 miles from the Canadian border. The cabin in situated on 4 acres surrounded by national forest land. You have access to the Moyie River where you can fish, tube, kayak, or canoe. You can sit on the deck and enjoy watching the wildlife: Canadian geese, ducks, eagles, moose, deer, and elk; or you can just enjoy the mountain scenery. Banff, Canada, is only 4 hours away and Calgary is about 7 hours. Casinos are located in Bonners Ferry and just north across the Canadian border. A day in Sandpoint, Idaho is a must. Skiing can be enjoyed at Schweitzer Ski Resort located in Sandpoint, which is an hour's drive south of the cabin. Be sure to take the short hike to Copper Falls and enjoy fishing in one of the many nearby lakes. Robinson Lake is one of my favorites.
