SKI LODGE ON 80 ACRES, FIREPLACE, HOT TUB, POOL TBL, HUGE!

Stephentown House Rental Photos and Description

Ski Lodge Near Jiminy Peak, 7 bedrooms, 6 bath, sleeps 14-18

This is a gorgeous, newly finished, secluded lodge on 80 acres with seven bedrooms, (two king, two queen, and three rooms with two twins each) and six bathrooms. It is only minutes from downhill skiing, cross country skiing and snow shoeing and a mere thirty minutes plus from the cultural and recreational centers of the Berkshires. Adirondack furnishings and antiques lace this home with clear pine paneling and an immense breakfast bar. Enjoy the property with perennial garden, dock, and 2,000 square feet of deck. The lodge is designed with large windows to take advantage of the spectacular views in every direction.

You will not want to leave this amazing home.

Where the living is easy in any season!: How can you decide between relaxing on the dock gazing out at the lake, sitting in the hot tub watching the most incredible star show imaginable, or challenging your children to a game of pool or darts in the game room? Perhaps a movie on a 52' screen television or an evening in front of an immense stone fireplace in the great room would make your day? This place is much more than a slice of the Berkshires (and that is saying a lot) it is a little slice of heaven! This home is our dreams come true and available to only a select few.

.

There is plenty to do!: Outside the house you will find a trout stocked 12 acre pond, 2,000 square feet of deck, dock, hammocks, gas grill, canoe, beach, perennial garden, hot tub, lounge chairs, picnic tables, horse shoe pits, outdoor campfire pit, walking or snowshoe trails.

Enjoy the Berkshire cultural offerings including Tanglewood, Norman Rockwell Museum, Clark Institute, Hancock Shaker Village, Mass MoCa, Mt. Greylock State Park, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Cherry Plains State Park.

Stephentown NY. 45 minutes from Albany Airport, 1 3/4 hours from Hartford CT., 2 3/4 hours from Boston, and 3 hours from New York City.

Sorry there is very limited availability.: We never intended to become second home owners - and surely not someone who rents out their home. We just could not resist this place when we found it for sale. Unfortunately, our children were not willing to give up their college educations to fund the improvements required! Selfish of them don't you think? So, for a little while, this place will be available. Enjoy!

A Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5
Our large extended family rented this lovely house overlooking a scenic beaver pond for our Christmas get together and the house was spectacular. We enjoyed the large open dining and living room area with plenty of room of all of us to sit and eat at one time, the grand stone fireplace, and the hot tub on the deck was just what we needed after a day of skiing at nearby Jiminy Peak (10 minutes away). Ping pong, pool, and air hockey as well as several TVs provided more than enough entertainment. The owner came to show us how to work the hot tub, fireplace, and wood stove and shared some history of the property as well. A great place for a relaxing weekend and family reunion. Our cell phones and blackberries all worked from the house, not that we used them much in such a relaxing environment. Don't be alarmed when you drive down the driveway as most of the house is not visible from driveway but is built to capitalize on the spectacular view. There is a trout stream running through the property so we plan to return in the Spring for some fishing.

This house was everything we were hoping for. We were a large group & there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Lots of indoor entertainment w/ pool & ping pong table. Fireplace & wood stove kept the place toasty & warm. Lots of stacked firewood. Hot tub was beautifully clean. Beautiful views of the lake. Everything was clean & functional. Kitchen & baths are modern. We wanted for nothing during our stay. If you're looking for privacy & seclusion, this is the place! One caveat: no internet access or cell phone signal. (I would actually pay extra for this!)

Stephentown is on the western edge of the Berkshires. The Berkshires are known for their beauty, their summertime cultural events and their wintertime skiing! The lodge is located just 10 minutes from Jiminy Peak and an hour from many Vermont ski areas. The snow has been fantastic the past couple of years! At the end of a ski day it's nice to come to a place with a fireplace, hot tub and incredible ambiance.

Other Activities: snow shoeing

Notes:
The kitchen is designed to handle a crowd! There are 2 dishwashers and 2 ovens. You are welcome to use all the things we use for our own family. There are big bowls, big pots, barbecue tools, frozen drink maker, coffee pots small and large, 4 slice toaster, crock pot and clam steamers. Outside you can serve on a 2,000 sq ft deck, or bring treats down to the dock. We've put the big screen tv in the upstairs living room. That way the group that wants to talk by the fireplace in the great room can enjoy the quiet. By far the best show is the star show! Stephentown is definitely inthe country - and without that ambient light - the stars are just amazing! Sitting in the hot tub and watching the heavens is definitely an experience you will enjoy.
