The Beaver Lodge is a gem hidden in the woods surrounding Gorrel Lake. The log lodge is on the lake, and provides a nice private setting for your vacation. There are only 3 houses on the entire lake. Enjoy the lake from the sun deck at the end of the pier, the provided pontoon boat, or one of the other smaller boats provided at no additional fee for your use.
You will find The Beaver Lodge to be fully furnished for your use. The kitchen/dining/gaming area downstairs is often a 'hub' of activity, with a fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, dishwasher, pool table, video games, foosball, air hockey, board games, cable TV, full bathroom, and much more. The glass/screened porch off this level provides a hot tub and sitting area.
On the main level, you will find the wet bar, family room with Satilite TV, fireplace, and a nice vaulted ceiling with a view of the loft area. The 'Lake View' bedroom on this level has a queen bed. The second of three full baths is on this floor in the hallway between the bedrooms. The 'Library' bedroom on this floor has a set of bunk beds. Off this level, you will find a nice glass/screen enclosed porch area (best room in the house ) facing the lake.
Upstairs you will find the loft, often the favorite sleeping area of younger guests. It has two sets of bunk beds, and a nice view of the family room ,the electric train that chuggs around the the open space above the main level, and the fireplace. There is also the 'Grand View' Bedroom with a queen bed, the 'West View' bedroom also with a queen bed, and the third full bath located in the hallway between the bedrooms. All 4 bedrooms are fully furnished with quality furniture befitting the true log cabin interior.
The outdoor area provides a nice area to relax; lay in the hammock, picnic in the gazebo, stroll through the woods, or sit around the fire-pit.

Steve purchased this lodge in 1980
We built this log cabin on this special property in the year 2000 on Gorrel Lake for our family, and are proud to be able to share this property with you.
While this is a very remote and private location, basic needs can be met in Barryton, less than 10 minutes away. Many of our renters come the same week each year, and we enjoy getting to know them and see their families grow and enjoy The Beaver Lodge.
This was our second year at Beaver Lodge and we had a great time. There were six adults and two kids, aged 4 and 8. Plenty of places to sleep and lots of things to do. Fishing was good. My son used the kayak and caught 53 bass during our week's stay. The rest of us also caught fish, even the 4 year old. The weather was fantastic in the 70's with only one day of rain-- a perfect day to visit Big Rapids--about a 30 minute drive. Looking forward to next year's family vacation at Beaver Lodge.
We had 12 people coming in from all over Michigan to celebrate our daughters graduation from Ferris. The lodge worked perfectly for our family. Plenty of room to spread out, the game tables were a great hit with our college aged kids and the adults. We're looking to book a week in the summer so we can enjoy the lake and outdoor activities! Thanks for opening your lodge to us... WIFI at the lodge would be a great addition.
We stayed at Beaver Lodge with our kids, grandkids, nephew and niece and great nephews. We came from NY, OH, WI and MI. There were 7 adults and 4 kids, age 21 mos.to 7 yrs. As described by other reviewers the house was clean and extremely well stocked with everything you might need for 12 people. The pool table, foosball, air hockey and shuffleboard were great. There was also a round table and chairs to do crafts for kids or use for additional dining area. The boats were also great for just going around the lake or for fishing. We went to Big Rapids one day that it rained and had lunch at a brewpub. My son and his family brought golf clubs and bikes but did not use them as we had plenty to do at Beaver Lodge. I would definitely recommend this property for a family or group vacation. The only problem we had was with the water temperature when someone was showering and someone else flushed a toilet or also took a shower. We mentioned this to Steve and I am sure he will take care of it as he seems to be a very conscientious host and wants everyone to have a good time.
We had a wonderful stay at the Beaver Lodge last week. Family members from 5 different states all converged for a family reunion getaway, and the Beaver Lodge did not disappoint. Every amenity imaginable for both indoor & outdoor fun was at our disposal. The closest town was 30 minutes away, but with all the Beaver Lodge had to offer, we had no need to go anywhere else! Steve was incredibly accommodating and attentive to every detail of our needs - including wheelchair accessibility. Family ages ranged from 2 to 74, and there was something for everyone. The boats (oh, so many kinds of boats!), the playground, the hammock, the fire pit, the hot tub, the pool table, the air hockey, walks in the woods, board games. . . the options really are endless! The lodge was clean, stocked with everything you might need (and a little more - including kitchen spices), and actually had comfortable seating enough for the number of people it slept - surprisingly, not everyone thinks of this important detail! Thank you, Steve, for sharing your home for a wonderful week full of memories that will last a lifetime.
We rented the Beaver Lodge as a place for our family to stay and celebrate my wife graduation from pharmacy school. We had a great time. The lodge itself was simply amazing. The listing description was accurate and if anything undersells this amazing property. Steve (the owner) was very helpful and nice. Even though it rained, snowed and sleeted (can't control the weather) we were still able to take the canoe, rowboat, paddle boat and pontoon out on the lake for a few hours. The environment is peaceful and full of things to do. Beautiful location. No matter what you like, hiking, canoeing, fishing puttering around in a pontoon boat, playing pool, fooseball, video games, reading, relaxing by the fire, chilling in the hot tub, etc this a great place. We look forward to staying again soon.
Excellent place for family to stay. Was hot most days so stayed on the lake with all the boats. Not much to do near by but really don't need to leave because there is so much to do at the lake house. If traveling to lake house be careful and do not following directions to the actual cabin from map quest or yahoo. It will take you down a road that will tear up your vehicle. Get the actual directions from the owner. He is a very nice guy. Also, hard to use cells phones which made for a quite and peaceful stay. Cops and Donuts shop worth visiting and also the Amish shops. Loved it! Would recommend.
