No detail has been spared to make your stay on Charming Chandler Lake a week you will always remember. The cottage is situated on a great fishing/swimming lake with 100 feet of sandy beach front. The hard sand bottom lake has a gradual slope so it is very swimmer friendly. Chandler Lake is also well known as one of the best fishing lakes for blue gill, perch and bass in the area. It has many coves for you to explore and right in front of the cottage is a small sandy island you will love to visit. Imagine roasting marshmallows in the beach fire pit every night under the clear star-filled nights. Sit on one of the 3 decks and watch the ducks and loons drift by in the evening while the sun sets.

Amenities: The walkout basement has a recreation room with deluxe air hockey, mini pool table, board games, and separate room with a full size futon. Off of the walkout is a covered porch with seating. This cottage has new kitchen cupboards, hardwood flooring, carpet, paint, all new bathroom fixtures and tile, lighting...we really renovated this one! The cottage is fully furnished, decorated in the north woods theme and sleeps 8. We have a Queen size bed, set of bunk beds, futon/bunk bed, full size bed and a full size futon in the basement bedroom. In every bedroom we have new mattresses and new quilts, sheets and pillows. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee maker, microwave, all pots, pans and dishes. We have cable TV, VCR with over 100 movies, CD player, phone and a new washer/dryer. All towels and linens and paper products are provided. We have a rowboat and life jackets for your use.

Activities: On the beach next to the new dock is a fire pit, chairs and picnic table. We have 3 decks, all of which have wooden patio furniture or Adirondack chairs. Across the road from the cottage is a public park with miles of wooded walking trails and a playground. Just around the corner is a family restaurant that is the local hangout that has the best pizza in town. Also, a small grocery/convenience store is within 1 mile. The cottage is only 15 minutes from downtown beautiful Traverse City. Close by you will find great shopping, dining, fishing, sailing, golf, tennis, jet skiing, hiking, biking, wineries, horseback riding, skiing, snowmobiling, and the VASA Trail. Also within 40 minutes are beautiful lighthouses, Sleeping Bear Dunes State Park, Interlochen Performing Arts Center, and many other quaint towns in northern Michigan as well as Mackinac Island, about 2 hours away.

Golf: We have many great golf courses with 30 minutes of the cottage including the world class Grand Traverse Resort's Jack Nicklaus' Bear course which is 15 minutes away.

The cottage was very cozy, relaxing and was prefect for our group gathering. The guys of course loved fishing in the lake and we caught plenty of fish too. Everthing you need is provided in the house. The owners were very helpful and nice, even checked up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The only thing we didn't like was one 1 bathroom for 10 people. Overall, the place was awesome with plenty to do for every age in the family. Hope to be renting this place again soon. :)

My kids, grandkids and I spent 3 fun filled days in this cottage and it was perfect for us.

Our overall first impression was warm, cozy and inviting and this proved to be true throughout our stay.

While small, the cottage is laid out well and provided ample space for 5 adults and 4 children. The dining room table was large enough to give us plenty of room without crowding. I worried over only one bathroom but even that worked to our satisfaction.

We enjoyed the firepits (on the beach and in upper yard), the row boat, the nearby hiking trails and playground and the overall get away from it all feeling.

Take whatever food and drink you might need and enjoy Northern Michigan at it's best.

The only folks I would not recommend this cottage to are the aged and/or handicapped. While the cottage is basically on one level, there are many, many stairs (to enter the cottage, to the beach etc., etc.)

We would go back!!!

Charming Chandler Lake - It is.

We stayed at this cottage for a couple of weeks in September and it was perfect for our needs. The view was as beautiful as the pictures show and we enjoyed several evenings of sitting around a small fire on the lake.

The home comes with all the amenities you need in a kitchen to prepare meals, just bring along favorite food items and condiments, etc. We went to the local farmer's market in town for produce and we were set.

The front bedroom overlooks the lake and has full-size bed, two middle rooms have bunk beds and back room has a queen size bed. Bath was simple but worked for the two of us.

Chandler Lake is about 10-15 minutes south of Traverse City, so it was easy to access the local library, shops and restaurants of downtown TC, yet we got to come home to the country after our outings.

If you need Internet access, there are many places including the library that offer free access.
