Discover a bit of nostalgia in our quaint, knotty pine cottage on peaceful Lake Ann, a 527 acre lake that is great for fishing and boating. The sandy lake frontage provides great swimming for young children or they can play in our sandbox. Enjoy beautiful sunsets during family singalongs and marshmallow roasts at the lakeside fire pit. A dock and anchorage are available for your boat, and our rowboat. Enjoy a tour of the lake on our paddleboat. Walk to the Village for dinner or an ice cream cone, hike at the Ransom Lake Nature Preserve, or bike at Lake Ann Pathway.

Lakeside Pines offers a warm, rustic, relaxing atmosphere with two bedrooms that sleeps six to eight people. (One queen, one double, one twin bed, one double futon, and a queen hide-abed.) The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, and condiments for your convenience. Washer and dryer included. Special care has been taken to furnish our cottage with the extras to make it a comfortable home away from home for you and your family

About Betty McCaghy

My husband and I bought this cottage when our three boys were young. We spent many weekends and summers vacationing here and have wonderful memories of times spent together at this wonderful location.

Nearest Motorway : Almira Road (Hwy 610) and Lake Ann Road (Hwy 665) at 1 Miles

Lake Ann is located in the heart of northwest Michigan. Five miles away is the Interlochen Arts Academy, home of the Interlochen Arts Festival that provides over 600 artistic performances throughout the summer.

Fifteen miles east lies the resort town of Traverse City, home of the annual Cherry Festival, the Traverse City Film Festival, unique shopping, and numerous fairs and events throughout the year.

Travel approximately 17 miles northwest to experience the scenic Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, encompassing numerous lakes and rivers as well as the massive coastal sand dunes and bluffs. While here, be sure to visit the 140 year old historic fishing town of Leland.

Other nearby activities include golfing at Mistwood, a championship golf course, frolicking in the outdoor waterpark at Crystal Mountain or indoor at the Great Wolf Lodge. Sightseeing, canoeing, wineries, antiquing, gambling, shopping and numerous other activities are available.

The perfect vacation

We have been vacationing at Lake Ann for most of the past 40 summers. We love this lakenot only because it is clean and quiet and loaded with hungry fish, but also because of it's wonderful location...close to the entertainment in Traverse City and Interlochen and it's close proximity to all of the beautiful towns along Lke Michigan. This was our first time at Lakeside Pines, but it most certainly will not be our last. This cottage is the perfect combination of roomy yet cozy. Betty has seen to it that all the amenities are provided. I had brought up a whole tub of "stuff" that I never had to take out of the tub. It even has a nicely stocked medicine cabinet. We loved every minute of our stay and my daughter and I both got very weepy when we had to leave.

If you are looking for a nice quiet get away with all necessary amenities including a supply of condiments, you can end your search here. This little place has everything you need.

We were delighted with the entire experience (well, the weather could have been a little warmer).

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!

We have vacationed at this cottage many times now and we always have a wonderful experience. The Lake is super clean and shallow for many yards in, making it safe for young kids while providing lots of fun for the adults. The cabin is very cozy and deceivingly spacious fitting quite a few, which makes it feel like family retreat. We play games, have 'fire-nights' with smore-making, lots of good fishing, swimming and sight seeing. It is very close to Traverse City so we usually end up going out for a family dinner or two in town. What can I say? We LOVE it there!!! The owners are incredibly kind and accommodating to the renter's needs.
If you are thinking of a very relaxing/fun/clean vacation spot with or without kids...this is your place.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage! The location was wonderful and the cottage had everything we needed to feel at home for the week. The water was beautiful and clear, nice breeze, and beautiful sunsets. The neighbors we're so kind and friendly, we felt right at home! A welcome note and phone call from the owner to confirm everything we needed was there, such a special touch. The cottage is a short walk to the village and we made the daily treck. The lake is not busy, so you don't have the hassle of crazy boats into the wee hours, and not lots of boat traffic to fight if you bring your own! Great lake for fishing, and just playing around in. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to rent again if our travels brought us back to Lake Ann.

Excellent for Families

This cottage was perfect for our age 4 and under children. The water was crystal clear, warm and shallow. So many toys and games for the kids to play. We all enjoyed fishing, bonfires, sunsets, Traverse City shopping, and sunny days. Wonderful family memories were made and our expectations were greatly exceeded. Thank you, Betty!
