Largest island in the Bay of All Saints, Itaparica has 240 square kilometers. Destination trendy in the past, has its advantages: quiet environment reached in just 20 minutes journey by catamaran from Salvador and beautiful view of the capital. The island is divided into two municipalities. What gives its name to the area guard colonial mansions and buildings dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, as the church of San Lorenzo (1610), Fortaleza de São Lourenço (1711), Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy (1622) and Fountain of Bica (1842).
