Welcome to EKO Farm in the heart of Waimea town. We are a native Hawaiian owned and operated business. Our farm of five acres is diversified with a field of protea flowers, citrus and fruit orchard, koa tree forest and vegetable garden, all grown organically. Our flock of pasture raised hens provide us with fresh eggs. Our goal is to grow as much of our own food as we can sustainably and responsibly. Our flowers and extra produce are sold locally at the Waimea Homestead Farmers Market on Saturdays where you will find every type of produce to stock your pantry. We live in a separate home on the property and would be happy to help make your stay a memorable one.

Owner Tommy was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. My wife, Micci, and I have been living in Waimea since 1983. I'm a retired police officer of 28 years. We love to garden and travel in our free time. We also love to swim and kayak at the best beaches twenty minutes from our farm.
The Owner purchased this house in 1988
After living in Hilo for 30 years, I wanted to see what it was like to live in Waimea. My Hawaiian heritage is from Waimea and it has always been a special place to me. We love growing flowers and organic fruits and vegetables.
Bikes and kayaks are available for our guest. Guest are provided with a welcome basket of coffee, fresh flowers and our famous homemade jams.
Spent a great week on Tommy and Micci's farm. Great accomodations, great hospitality, in a great location. Mahalo for the great experience.
My daughters and I stayed at Eko Farm cottage for 6 weeks. We Had a great experience there. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and cozy. Tommy and Micci are very sweet people to talk to and they are very helpful. Micci's strawberry jam is so good and their eggs are delicious. The cottage is located in the center of the Kamuela town (but very peaceful and great view of Mauna Kea) that short drive to the shopping center, farmer's market and great Waimea playground.
We cooked all our meals at home. The kitchen has everything you need. It was perfect for my family to stay for the summer. Ou daughters enjoyed playing with their dogs every afternoon running around the farm. After staying at Eko farms for 6 weeks, we feel like we are Local. Tommy And Micci, thank you for your hospitality!!! Hopefully, we will see you again next summer... We miss being there already...
We stayed for just two nites in mid-April to kick off our two week tour of the island. We wish we had stayed in Waimea and at the Eko farm a bit longer. The other reviews here are spot on--you are met at this beautiful farm just a mile or two from town by Tom and Micci with nothing but Aloha, and the fully equipped and clean cottage is stocked with jam and coffee and some fresh eggs, and fresh flowers abound, The hosts also left us some amazing fresh fruit. We ate it all! The bird song in the morning (roosters included!) was just incredible. We loved having a cup of coffee and an early morning walk around the farm. The cottage has everything you might need and more and we felt it more a small home than a vacation rental. Waimea (Kamuela) is also simply beautiful, and just a short (20-30 minute drive) from some of the best beaches on the island. Also within an easy drive are Hawi and the Pololu Valley and the Waipio Valley, all well worth a visit. We would definitely stay here again (for more than two nites!) on any future excursions to the big island.
We thoroughly enjoyed our month long stay in the ideal house. Everything was clean comfortable, we felt right at home immediately. Tommy and Micci made us feel very welcome, with a basket of coffee, fruits, fresh eggs and Micci's wonderful homemade jam. They have put alot of love and work into their land and are rewarded with its wonderful harvest, which they eagerly offer to share. The house is very private, and it was wonderful to awake in the mornings to the sounds of the birds, chickens and neighbouring farm animals. The queen size bed was very comfortable with plenty of towels and fine linens supplied. We cooked almost all of our meals in the kitchen that is fully equipped, and it was nice to have a washer and dryer on site, and even a private clothesline. The town offers wonderful farmer markets where you can get fresh baked breads, fruits and vegetables. We loved our morning walks around the subdivision of small farms - about a 2 mile easy walk with very few vehicles. Spencer Beach is just a short 15 minute drive down the hill, which is a beautiful little beach (our favorite) as it's not as crowded as some of the other Island beaches. We would pack a lunch and spend most days there. Thank you Tommy and Micci for making our stay one we will always remember. We love Waimea.
We had a great stay in this lovely little cottage! All the privacy and modern conveniences you need in an open, clean, and pleasant space! My kids loved naming the chickens and picking loquats off of the trees! Micci was generous with her produce and anything else we needed. We loved our stay here. It is close to restaurants, beaches, and cools off nicely at night. We would stay here again in a heart beat. Thanks!
From the moment we opened the door to our cottage it was obvious we made the right choice. Fresh flowers, fruits and homemade preserves added that extra touch and made us feel truly welcome. The property is impeccably clean and well cared for. We arrived in the middle of the night so it wasn't until the following morning when we truly saw the beauty of this property. Staying here you truly get the rural character of Hawaii, with the added benefit of having all the town's amenities close by. We appreciated having a well stocked grocery store that was close by and open late it made things very convenient.
Tommy and Michaela were a pleasure to deal with from the very first e-mail. They were very willing to share their Native Hawaiian insight on the island. By chance on our only rainy afternoon we got the opportunity to share stories with the Aiona's, it is one of the more memorable parts of our trip.
There is no shortage of things to do in the area, how much you want to pack into a day is up to you. We enjoyed spending time on the deck in the morning, bird watching and admiring the scenery around us. Geckos among the vines were always good for added entertainment. If you are interested the tour at Anna's Ranch provides great history and insight into the rural history of the area. Be early and come hungry to the local farmers market. It was a delightful experience watching tourists and locals interact, the community has a great feel of family.
Explore historic Waimea town, home of the Paniolo Hawaiian Cowboy. Enjoy seasonal fruits and vegetables from our garden, visit local Farmers Markets. Beautiful scenic views of Mauna Kea Mountain. Minutes from must see Hapuna Beach State Park and other great beaches. Day trip to famous Waipi'o and Pololu Valleys or visit active Kilauea Volcano.
