The house is great, and the location couldn't be better. It was easy to work with the owners, and while you're never really sure how well stocked the kitchen will be in these kinds of places, this one was quite nice, and even had decent pans and knives! The only downside to mention is that it wasn't clear (to us) that the "rec room" should probably be more accurately called "the garage", and of the 4 queen beds, one is in there. As that's where the bikes are also stored, there is a bit of a musty odor in that room. And another queen bed is in the downstairs living room which connects most bedrooms to the house - not a private place at all. But if you don't need those beds or don't care about those things, then there are no downsides for you. :)
GREAT beach access.
There were certainly enough dishes, glassware & silverware which was nice.
Lots and lots of clean linens and towels - a huge PLUS!
A bit shy with the laundry and dishwasher detergent.
There were a total of six beach-cruiser bikes, of which two were ride-able (others were missing chains, inflated tires, or were rusted). Just a small investment in maintenance by owners would be nice as it appears prior guests weren't held accountable for not following established rules for bike use.
WARNING: Make very sure the Parental Controls are on before you let the younger ones flip channels on the TV's as there was a wide variety of adult-themed channels available for the viewing - just reading the titles of the shows available to watch on the screen was problematic.
All in all, quite adequate and I would refer to a friend.
WOW... what a place, the space was incredible, I think next year we will not need the cottage. All loved the place, from the college kids to the kindergartners.. The access to the beach was perfect, bikes in the garage, and the BBQ for steak dinners!.
The Sunset beach house & Cottage made this into a true relaxing vacation. Julie you were great to work with ...See you next year!
We enjoyed our family reunion at Sunset beach house over Christmas 2012. The house was clean, plenty of great views, wonderful master bath, amazing front deck. Path to the beach is short and not muddy. The hot tub was clean and protected from the elements. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pans/dishes/great gas stove. House had plenty of lines and use of the wash machine as well. We also rented the cottage behind the main house and were pleasantly surprised. Great for dogs. Everything is like the pictures so you wont get any nasty surprises. Very easy and straight forward working with Julie. Can't wait to rent it in the summer.
This is our second stay at the beach house and even better than the first since we were able to experience a bit of summer on the coast. The house is wonderfully kept, clean, spacious and classy. Our group of friends love the layout and many amenities like the hot tub overlooking the beach. Such close access to the shore is a definite pull for me and the sunset views in the evening are gorgeous. On our second stay we were able to catch the metor shower and made many wishes that night. Julie, our contact, is always nice and professional and ready with answers to my questions. Her communication is also a big reason we came back to this place. I'm sure it won't be our last.
We stayed over our Canadian spring break with two families for a total of 11 adults and kids. Listed as four bedrooms but we were able to use the garage as a great sleeping place so everyone had their own sleeping space. Lots of washrooms and two distinct spaces for adults to hang out in and kids to hang out in. Everything was well marked and explained. The beach space was great and our kids loved the hot tub. Excellent rental for us and would gladly go back.
