First let me start off by saying we had a wonderful 4 night stay at this cabin. It snowed our first night coming into the cabin, but still got there with no issues. It was nice having the security gate up front because the high winds caused lots of unexplained noises. :)
The inside of the cabin is every bit as beautiful as the pictures show, and the abundance of board games was nice for the family. We also LOVED the wood burning fireplace. Every other cabin we looked at had gas. The Kroger down Wears Valley Road (don't go over 35 on this rd it's a speed trap) sells bundles of wood, but we had to use starter logs to really get their wood going.
The view is awesome, and it is one of the few lots that doesn't require you to drive up a steep driveway.
Nice distance from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but far enough away to feel like you're out away from it all.
All in all we had a great time.
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because of the living room furniture. It was not very comfortable. And, the hot tub cover looked like it was falling in on the hot tub, so we decided not to mess with it.
One suggestion: We have experienced in other cabins we have rented is that they have spices and some other essentials around the kitchen. I would imagine this is primarily due to people purchasing them and leaving them behind, but it sure helps out when cooking so you don't have to go buy all new spices for limited use.
All in all a great time and would definitely rent Appalachian Sunset again.
