George Hill Cottage is one of the most spectacular properties on the SummerMaine roster – a stunning, architecturally designed Maine “cottage”, the house sit on serene Alford Lake, among ancient pine trees and the peace and quiet you can really only find in Maine.
The property sits on 76 private acres with thousands of feet of water frontage and a private dock – details like a large front deck, a screen porch with a propane fireplace and an outdoor shower make Georges Hill the kind of place that guests will remember forever.
Designed by famed architect John Silverio, the Georges Hill Cottage is made to feel classic and comfortable with cathedral ceilings, a floor to ceiling granite fireplace, comfortable furniture and decor and a true open, airy feel. This is the place where bare feet are welcomed, but a late afternoon cocktail party with a small group of friends and family is perfectly suited.
The main floor has a large open living space, shared by the kitchen, dining area and living room.
The kitchen has a large center island with stools and all high end appliances and cookware.
The dining area is directly to the right of the kitchen with seating for 7-8 people.
The living room is dominated by a stunning granite fireplace and has a comfortable, slipcovered wrap-around couch. There is a wall mounted television to the left of the fireplace.
Access to the front deck – with a grill and plenty of outdoor seating – is from the main living area, by stairs from the yard or via the screen room, located directly off the kitchen. This room, complete with a fireplace, can be used as a screen porch by opening the windows or can be a sunroom when the temperature dips.
There is a half bathroom with a full laundry directly off the entry way.
The master bedroom is on the first floor offering views of the water and a private, en suite bath. The master has a fireplace, a king bed and a wall mounted television. The bathroom is beautiful with a full tub/shower combination and heated towel racks.
The bottom floor has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a den area. The master on this floor has a queen bed and views of the water – the bathroom is just outside of this bedroom.
The den has two oversized chairs with ottomans and a flat screen television with a DVD player.
The third bedroom has a double bed for two and a twin bed – this room also has views of the water.
On the third floor there is office space and bonus room, accessed by a sturdy catwalk. These areas are ideal for a play area for kids on a rainy day or as a place to set up an office if work during vacation is necessary. Or, if air mattresses are acceptable, a portion of the space can also be used as an additional bedroom.
The property has access to the water and a private dock and float – the area is great for kayaking, canoeing, paddling boarding and swimming.
The property benefits from a dedicated caretaker and professional landscaping and offer WiFi and satellite television.
Hilltop boasts a private deck, full custom kitchen, hardwood floors, a propane fireplace and views of Penobscot Bay. Amenities like a full sized washer and dryer make this feel more like home while the stunning pool offers the amenities of a hotel resort.
Fully furnished and expertly decorated, the master bedroom has a queen bed and a full bathroom with a over-sized shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and overlooks the dining room area that can seat up to 4 people. There is a roll away bed for an occasional overnight guest. The condo is equipped with WiFi and cable television as well as a large flat-screen television.
The deck has a small propane grill and comfortable outdoor seating.
The condo is minutes to both the beaches and the mountains and is close to Camden, Rockland and the St. George Peninsula (Port Clyde and Tenants Harbor). This centrally located home away from home is ideal for a short or long term stay.

Paper goods: a starter supply of paper goods (paper towels and toilet tissue) will be available upon your arrival. Typical amounts are 1 roll of paper towels and 1 roll of toilet tissue per bathroom.
Cleaning requirements before check out: Please strip all beds and leave all used towels in the tub. Please remove all items from the refrigerator and wash dishes. All furniture and furnishing MUST be returned to the original location they were in upon check in. Please bag all trash and leave in receptacle provided.
Check in and out times: Check in is 3:00 PM and Check out is 10:00 AM. Early check in/out are not allowed in the high season. Guests who have not vacated by 10:00 AM will be charged $25.00 every 15 minutes after 10:00 AM.
