This is Honua Kai Unit # Konea 112. This is a brand new, 915 square foot (plus 300 sq ft Lanai/Garden) GROUND FLOOR Two (2) bedroom condominium in the new Honua Kai Resort Konea Tower – the newest condominium resort to be built in Kaanapali (2008).

Only the Ground Floor units offer tall 11' ceilings, oversized lanai's, and very quick and easy access in and out (from the Lanai or condo door) ... no elevators needed. The lanai opens up to lush lawns & walkways with views of the mountain and resort and it has a private relaxing Koi pond off the lanai. My unit is conveniently located in the middle of the resort, within just a few steps to the Konea interior court yard or a quick close 1-2 minute walk to the resort pools and hot tubs. Our room is also close to the fitness center.

Included are many owner supplied extras such as beach chairs, a beach umbrella, an ice chest, boogie boards, games, beach towels, a guest book, a pack n play, etc.

It has a King Bed in Master, Queen sofa sleeper in living, and Queen Bed in the Den converted Bedroom and is perfect for up to 6. All rooms have their own flat screen TV's (cable w/ On Demand). A Blu-Ray DVD is available in the living room. Wireless Fast Internet is also included free of charge.

We love Maui and after staying at Honua Kai for the first time in 2009, we feel in love with this place. Having a young family of our own, we have always struggled to find a nice condo with all the amenities we were looking for. Honua Kai was that place. We purchased this unit first off because it was a ground floor unit, which in our opinion is the absolute best for children. It has quick and easy access to the outside, the pool, and everything else. It has its own Koi pond which our kids love.. and is right next to the Gym, so theres no excuses. We just love this place.

Perfect family condo

This resort and condo was amazing for my family. My almost 8yo son had the best time at the pool and really enjoyed the water slide!
Being on the ground floor made it so easy to go in and out without the hassle of walking thru the hotel and waiting on elevators. My favorite part was sitting on the patio each morning and watching the sun rise with my coffee.
The unit has all the essentials in the kitchen, so preparing meals was not a problem (if you like to cook in your vacation). We also used the resort provided Viking BBQ's on 2 occassions and had a blast visiting with all the other people bbq'ing out there!
The unit has plenty of room to hang out, but really, who stays inside when your in Maui? :)

Nice Condo with Great Lanai at Lovely Resort

While it was a little tight for our family of 5, the savings over the 2 bedrooms outweighed scrunching together. The bathroom was huge but a lot of wasted space. So nice having a kitchen even if you only have coffee and snacks. Wifi was super fast. Closet came with some beach stuff but it has been pilfered. The Honua Kai bellman offered my kids boogie boards for the week which was super cool! We especially loved the lanai for having meals or just chilling. Thanks so much.

Wonderful Condo

As instructed, we contacted Monty (property manager) upon our arrival at OGG and our condo was ready by 2:30 pm - thank you! We were happy to see that it was just as pictured on VRBO: Spacious, clean, and modern. The ground floor lanai was large and mostly private as the gym is to the left (no outside access) and a seldom used walkway is to the right. The unit is very quiet. Both bedrooms were a good size and the bathroom was very large. Washer/dryer were convenient. We had more than enough room for the 4 of us. My only suggestions: replace the hard cooler with a soft pack w/ shoulder strap and steam clean the couch (had a few stains). Also, we did not have any cleaning supplies (windex, etc) but left some behind. You will not be disappointed with this unit, it is gorgeous!

Rental experience, resort, condo unit, owner, and rental manager were all incredible!

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Everything was fabulous regarding our experience with Brandon's 2BR/1BA ground floor unit at Honua Kai! We would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

BOOKING EXPERIENCE: We have booked vacation rentals for trips for many years now, and my dealings with Brandon (the owner) has been one of the best. He is attentive, clear, precise, professional and prompt. The rental information packet is detailed, informative, and straight-forward. He is great with details, follow-ups, and answering questions/requests.

ARRIVAL EXPERIENCE: Actually the drive from OGG to Honua Kai was shorter than I had anticipated; but perhaps we got lucky with no traffic. Upon our arrival to Honua Kai, the wonderful rental manager, Monty, was there to greet us and to take us on the tour of the resort plus our rental unit. Monty was friendly, informative, and welcoming. Just the kind of ALOHA you'd hope you'd get upon your arrival!

RENTAL UNIT: This is a wonderful 2BR/1BA unit that's conveniently located on the ground floor and nestled in an extremely quiet area of the resort that was very close to BOTH the front entrance of the resort plus the pool/beach/Duke's. The unit was sparkling and spotless when we checked in. Brandon's condo is full of the amenities you will need for your stay- even all the extras like beach chairs, a cooler, sand toys, beach umbrella, etc. With little ones, it was a great option just to walk into your unit (after a full day of sun) through the lanai. Our kids also loved having their own "backyard" where they could run around for a while. A note on parking: if you self-park and actually utilize the underground parking, it's ridiculously efficient as you can practically park right below the unit, take the elevator and walk right around the corner to reach your unit.

OTHER: We would love to come back and stay again in this unit. We would definitely recommend this unit to anyone. The photos do accurately reflect the rental unit. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The owner and the rental manager provided top-notch service.

Fantastic kid friendly getaway

My wife and I took our two young daughters (2 & 4) to Honua Kai for a family getaway and had a fabulous time. This resort is about as good as it gets for family friendly fun in Maui. The pools (all 3) are great for young simmers and waders, and each has its own particular style and charm. Duke's restaurant is very accommodating and delightful and the grounds are immaculate and clean with top notch BBQ grills for your use.

The condo itself is excellent for a family of 4-6. This unit has essentially two bedrooms (one more like a den) and we felt we had plenty of room for our family. The unit is well equipped with all you will need for a great stay and the kitchen is a great option for when you want to stay in and cook (which was often with us with the kids). The ceilings in this unit were huge and it felt very spacious. There were 3 great TV's so lots of space to spread out and enjoy some movies. Also, this unit has a "massive" grassy back yard (compared to all other units) with access to the pond and waterfall, as well as another huge grass area in front of the exercise gym next door! And no, the gym did not create any disruptive noise (as we were worried when we first realized we were next door). And you don't have to go far to get a nice exercise break in!

The resort staff were very friendly and helpful and the location in Maui is great for families. We really liked the area and after seeing other resorts while there, we were glad we were at Honua Kai. The beach in front for the resort is clean and nice, but not the best, but you are close to many of the best in Maui.

I cannot recommend this location for families enough, it is well worth the money! Thanks to Brandon for his excellent service and great setup! We will be back again for sure!

Excellent time in Maui

We stayed with our two young children age 3 and 6. This unit was ideal for a family with children. It is centrally located on the main floor which means quick and easy access to all of the pools. This was great for those times we had to run back to the unit to grab something. The children enjoyed all of the pools at the resort, there are many.

There are 3 pools that our 3 year old could touch bottom in, the children's pool by Dukes, the pool with the pea gravel bottom, and the lady river pool's lounge areas. The resort is fantastic.

We have stayed at the Westin Kaanapali next door before and Honua Kai is better! We also have stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Lahaina and Honua Kai is way better!

This was our second visit to Honua Kai and our first VRBO experience. We will do it again, and I would definitely try to get this unit again. The "den" was perfect for our kids. They loved having their own room. The kitchen and laundry also came in handy. We ate most of our breakfasts and lunches in the room. That alone saved a lot of extra money.

It is a short drive to Lahaina's front street for shopping or to catch a tour from the harbour, or to Whaler's Village for shopping.

The unit was very clean and well maintained. It was stocked with most things you would need. We were let in in a convenient way.

Overall an excellent experience and an excellent condo choice.
