Greetings to all our prospective guests! My wife, Valerie and I are pictured here in Mykonos, where we celebrated our 30th anniversary (2009). We have 4 adult children and reside in Marlboro, NJ.
Woodstock is magical. There is something in the air - an extraordinarily positive vibe...good karma, a pervasive sense of peace, harmony, balance...a true restorative respite from the hustle and bustle of 21st century life!
There are so many lovely and unique homes in Woodstock, as well as inns, lodges, B&B's, etc. What we feel sets our home apart is that it offers a truly unique 'getaway-from-it all' experience, unlike any other to be found in the area; a style/decor that is a distinct departure from what we see day-in, day-out in our everyday lives, or even in our travels. When you arrive at our home, the vision seems precisely as you would expect to find in a rustic mountain lodge log home. It is a celebration of nature...the glorious creatures that inhabit it, the natural (sustainable) products it provides, and last but not least the extraordinary artists and craftspeople who thankfully continue to this day to maintain the time-honored traditions of creating hand-crafted, rustic furniture and furnishings out of nature's materials/materials gathered from nature, e.g., branches, twigs, bark, stone, etc., left in their most natural/least adulterated state - in the style of the Adirondack 'Camps.' Throughout the house, you will find many examples of their work, e.g., beds made from logs, tables made from branches, twigs, bark, chairs/stools made from hickory limbs, twig & bark framed mirrors, etc., as well as numerous touches of whimsy, e.g., genuine antler door knobs, pulls and handles, antler chandeliers/light fixtures, and all sorts of items celebrating the animals of the American wild, e.g., lighting fixtures with images of moose, elk, deer, bear, wolves, elk antler rack above the fireplace, animal-themed coat hooks, dinnerware, etc. In short, we've strived to recreate a type of rustic, cozy mountain lodge of our dreams. Perhaps you too have dreamed of how nice it would be to have a little log cabin getaway place somewhere? If so, we would love to have you make our not so 'little' home your Home Away From Home! [All antlers, antler products, etc., used in our home were naturally shed...what looks like leather and/or animal skins/fur is faux - no animals were harmed!]
My girlfriends and I stayed in the house the first weekend in February for a ladies weekend away. We had a wonderful time and the house was absolutely beautiful – everything we hoped for and more. The house is even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures. There were 9 of us and each one of us had a bed to sleep in/share, with plenty more space had there been more of us. The large dining room table was perfect for us to have breakfast together and the couches and table in front of the fire were perfect for snacks, wine, and games. The house is stocked with everything you could need including condiments, coffee, teas, aluminum foil, scissors, lighters, etc. There was plenty of firewood for the fire and Valerie was a phone call away and very helpful with any questions that came up. There are 3 showers in the house – each of which was amazing in their own way. The shower in the master bathroom was a huge open rainfall shower – true luxury. We enjoyed some Brick Oven pizza from Rick’s and had a fantastic dinner at Bear Café. The town is quaint with lots of shops and cafes to enjoy. The house is secluded and cozy up on a hill overlooking a beautiful woodsy yard (if you have the option to bring a car with AWD in the winter, I’d highly recommend bringing that. One of the ladies couldn’t make it up with the snow and parked at the bottom but the rest of us had no problem). We will have to come back when it’s warmer to take advantage of the grand wrap around porch and the screened in porch/sun room. Thanks again for a perfect relaxing weekend away!
The house and surroundings were wonderful. The whole family loved our visit.
Rick and Vicki were wonderful hosts. They were in touch with us well in advance and followed up in a timely manner. Their home is majestic -- the pictures really can't do it justice. We took a trip with a large group to celebrate a birthday and more than enough room. It's close to great restaurants, wonderful hikes, and is secluded. The kitchen and table are large and spacious, outdoor space is lovely. Highly recommended for the Catskill area.
My family and I were lucky enough to rent this beautiful home when we were attending a wedding up in the Catskills. Only problem was we had such a short time to enjoy it! This house is even nicer than the pictures show and the area is beautiful. The owners were great and really helpful. They made an iron magically appear at the side door when we realized we needed one for wedding clothes. They were great from beginning to end and provide everything needed for a relaxing time. We will definitely try to rent this one again when we can spend more time enjoying the house. Prefect house for chilling with family or friends. Highly recommend this one!
The images seriously don't do it justice. A beautifully maintained home with everything you could possibly need for an amazing stay. Can't wait to go back!
Upon arriving at this house you walk around in awe. This house is just as amazing on the inside as the outside. There is not one detail that is overlooked to go with the log cabin decor. All of the furniture looks like it is made of trees, the high hats way up high have pine trees on them, the kitchen cabinet handles are deer antlers and the beds look like something out of the flintstones! Even the dinnerware has deer on it. My favorite was the master bathroom where the shower is all stone and you feel like you are outside while taking a shower with the huge overhead and side shower heads. Everything in the house is immaculate. We were 4 families with teenagers who haven't gotten together for a while and enjoyed catching up on the front deck, and when it started raining we switched to the screened in porch where we would eat our breakfast in the mornings. The atmosphere is so relaxing. Its a wonderful place to spend time with friends and just chill. I could go on and on but its better to be surprised when you get there.
