The Elk-A-Way is a true log home mountain experience. A quiet location sitting on 5 acres of private land that backs to National Forest and Boulder County Open Space. Hiking, biking, x-country skiing and snowshoeing are right outside your door!

A short 10 minute drive will get you to Eldora skiing area, a great variety of restaurants and shops in Nederland and a huge expanse of more mountain activities including fishing, back-country skiing, Golden Gate State Park, Indian Peak Wilderness and only 20 minutes to casinos in Black Hawk.

Continue your adventure with a scenic 35-minute drive to Boulder; where you will enjoy a food and art utopia. Bring back your treasures and creative ideas to the serene quiet of the mountains to watch elk, moose and wild turkeys wander through your yard.

End your day by relaxing and enjoying the magnificent views from one of the 3 decks that surround the house or, in the winter, enjoy a warm beverage in the large great room while listening and watching a gentle snow fall.

Spring Break Winter Wonderland

What a wonderful long weekend getaway stay at the Elk-A-Way Cabin we had. My family drove from Grand Junction, CO to meet up with my brother and his family from OK. From the initial booking of the vacation rental to the checking out we had a great experience. The owner went above and beyond to communicate with us regarding the property before, during and after our stay. Everything we could have wanted was provided from a clean, well-organized and quaint cabin (large enough for ten plus people) with well stocked paper-products, linens and kitchen gadgets to a broad array of pantry spices. The property was amazing especially with ten inches of fresh fallen spring snow. Peaceful and secluded yet just a short drive into the enchanting town of Nederland (great coffee and baked goods at a local coffeehouse). If we had chosen, we could have gone into Boulder (just thirty minutes down canyon) for a larger town experience with shopping, fine dining and entertainment however we were so content with the surroundings at the Elk-A-Way we stayed put. The children enjoyed sledding down the driveway and exploring the woods all around. We will definitely tell our friends about the Elk-A-Way and are already planning on meeting up again in the summer.

Perfect Spring Break Getaway

This wonderful cabin was very comfortable and had plenty of space for our family of 10. We had everything we needed to cook and serve meals and were able to spend quality time together without a huge expense. The surrounding mountain scenery was stunning to say the least and provided many outdoor activities. If you enjoy hiking, biking, snow shoeing, cross country, sledding etc. and enjoy a quiet, peaceful setting this is the place for you. Nederland is only 5-10 minute drive and is a very unique Colorado town with lots of good food, coffee shops, friendly people, and fun activities for the kids. My wife and I loved the Co-op health food store and the kids really enjoyed the Carousel of Happiness. We definitely plan on coming back and hopefully will be able to stay longer next time.
