Very pleasant and enjoyable ski vacation

We had an very enjoyable time on our annual family ski trip staying at this VRBO home. We have enjoyed VRBO homes in our travels and this home/duplex did not disappoint. The beds were quite comfortable, and we enjoy the home away from home atmosphere so close to the mountain. My boys stayed upstairs in the 2 bedrooms and it worked out great. We were able to park our rental cars in the garage and out of the snow and the kitchen was well appointed. The only thing we would have liked to have is a hot tub. The unit next door had one, but we did not want to share.
The owner was very hospitable and his staff were very professional and helpful. Wendy was very great to work with. Her suggestions on ski rentals, and the lift tickets we purchased from her saved us quite a bit of money; some of the best service from owners we've ever had in a VRBO home.

Vacation/Rental Nightmare!! Steer Clear Do Not Rent from UBVR

I brought my family for 10 day trip to Utah. What we got was a never ending problem. This was the 1st DUPLEX they put us in. The adjacent neighbors were very loud. The dwelling was poorly staged/incomplete and missing many items. During our stay we had 3 major water leaks. The last, flooded the master bedroom suite. The owner pulled the carpet up and put large fans in but never fixed the plumbing that caused the leak? We were forced to relocate in the night. The next DUPLEX UBVR moved us too again had very loud neighbors UBVR had no control. The noise persisted at this point we had had enough. We cut our vacation short and left early. IT was that bad!! Do not rent from UBVR they promise the moon and stars but do not have the authority or control to deliver. After everything we went through they offered us approx. $350 on a future stay. WOW, where do I sign up, give me some more-NOT!! The worst part they have absolutely no sense of what they put us through. $350 make me laugh. Keep your money I will just make honest posts concerning our experience to help other avoid the same!!

Owner's Response: This guest did not stay at this unit, he stayed in our adjoining unit, which was a new unit we just furnished and got ready for occupancy. We made it clear to this guest it was not fully operational yet (fully stocked, supplied), but his dates were fast approaching so we agreed to let him stay here at a great discount. Nevertheless, thank you Mr. Hutz for expressing your side of the story. As is always the case, there are two sides. Rather than focusing on the negative, suffice it say that we mobilized our maintenance man, a plumber, and the owner of the home to swiftly resolve the flooding caused by the toilet due to a main line clog. The owner was slow to respond, causing the feelings of "no control". As the management company, we immediately offered to move the guests, they accepted. The only other home available was our downtown upper/lower duplex. By this point, it would have been hard pressed to please the guests no matter where we placed them after all they had been through the previous night. Nevertheless, we determined it fair to refund 2 nights in lieu of a terrible 1 night inconvenience ($350 refund).
It is important to set clarify that the plumbing in this home has since been snaked and is operating appropriately for all future guests. We do have control of our homes, and we will always exhaust every option to please guests no matter what. Unfortunately, however, those efforts are not always pleasing to guests as was the case during this guest's stay. With over 10,000 guests who stay with us each year in 40 vacation homes, 95% are satisfied and we very rarely have such dramatic maintenance problems causing guest displacement. But, like any property, they do happen, and you do your best to resolve them and make it right with guests. Rest assured, you are in great hands staying with us. But, whenever staying in adjoining duplexes, there can be that chance of neighboring noise that we do not always have control over. To avoid the problem altogether, we always suggest renting the entire duplex for privacy or one of our individually free-standing homes we offer.

Our stay here was fantastic. The service we received was very good. The company really went out of their way to make us happy. The location was the best feature. The entrance to the Big Cottonwood is down the street a mile or so and only took just minutes to get on the park and ride bus and go up the canyon. We really enjoyed the convenience and made for 3 great days on the hill.
The home is furnished with comfortable recliners and couches and a large TV. The beds are comfortable with nice bedding, The kitchen is adequate and works well. All in all, we had a great time and would stay again. Utah's Best Vacation Rentals is a good company and treats you well.

Convenient, Well Appointed

This home was a great accommodation. It was well appointed and worked out well for our group of 7. Everyone slept comfortably, the sitting area was comfortable and made it nice to gather. The kitchen was adequate, although the fridge had a problem cooling. We called and they really took great care in getting someone right out. We loved the privacy and saved alot cooking our own meals. We loved how close it was to the mountains. Thanks Nelson.
