One of the most exclusive residential areas in London, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is a shoppers dream. Start with the high-end English cult department store, Harrods, and meander your way along to Knightsbridge and further on to the upmarket boutiques along High St Kensington and Kings Road. If shopping isn't your thing enjoy some quaint cultivation at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. Take a step en scéne of the Merchant Ivory film, 'A Room with a view' at the Linley Sambourne House as well as a visit to the home of Diana, Princess of Wales at Kensington Palace. Heading Southwest you can enjoy the very popular and trendy Portobello Road Markets. And, if you're around at the end of August don't miss the famous street party, the Notting Hill Carnival.
