|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Just a 5 minute walk to the white sugar sand beaches of Anna Maria Island. This newly updated and open floor plan provides great entertaining areas throughout the house including the new paver pool deck. New to the rental market in August of 2012.
The rooms in this house are all of nice size. Kitchen is well equipped except for knives. The living room has three sofas and two recliners, all quite comfortable and clean.
The MBR bed is quite comfortable but the beds in the other two bedrooms are old and squeaky. Linens and towels are ancient and should be replaced. Some sheets had holes in them. Pillows are stale smelling and we washed two to freshen them.
There is a huge security light outside the Q sized bedroom window which made that bedroom quite bright all night. The shade on that window is simply a privacy shade and not room darkening.
New pool was lovely, in sun or half sun all day which was very nice. There is a nice table with umbrella and four chairs which became our outdoor living space. There is a terrific outdoor shower, enclosed, clean. There is a small, non-functioning fountain which was filled with water and leaves and was probably the source of the mosquitos we experienced. At the least, it should be turned on its side to drain the water.
Because of the bed situation, we would recommend this house only for a couple who will be comfortable in the MBR.
Our family of 4 enjoyed this charming 3 BR house immensely! We most enjoyed having so much space a full house offered. House would be perfect with kids and grandparents too even, for 6 total. There are 3 couches and 2 lounge chairs in living room. The windows and lighting offered so much natural sunlight, which was inviting. The house was on a nice quiet street, yet one could walk to the trolley stop, or the Sandbar restaurant or the breakfast place across from it. Beach was only a short walk away as well. We would definitely come back and would recommend this house in a heartbeat to anyone who plans on traveling to AMI! We had 2 days great weather and 2 days cloudy/rain (but even used the heated pool, with no issues). We enjoyed a trip to the Mote Aquarium and took their "Sea Life" cruise on the Sarasota Bay... a must see, especially those traveling with kids. St. Armand's Circle also offered shopping and a variety of restaurants as well. But with a house, you could certainly plan on many meals at home. Also, Karen, the owner, was so very nice and very accommodating, especially with our travel times. We met friends from home while there, who have been coming to AMI for years, and they rented a smaller cottage.. they were in awe of our space. As previously mentioned, limited cleaning supplies available so I suggest doing an inventory when you arrive and getting once you are there. Also no hair dryer found (I forgot mine), so bring a travel one with you. We loved our few days on this island. If we ever come back to AMI, we will definitely be renting this house again! Wonderful vacation!
What an amazing vacation! The island is unbelievably awesome!! We're most certainly coming back! The property was wonderful! Perfect location, extremely quiet despite being on the corner of a major thoroughfare. We didn't use the pool .....#1 the weather wasn't really optimum for swimming in November. #2 I don't think the heater was operating bc it was freezing, our wading in the ocean was much warmer.
The owners were great in assisting with having the propane for the BBQ replaced when we mentioned it was empty, although the grill needs a new grease flame cover thingy bc it's melted and doesn't allow for much flame.
The bedrooms were well appointed and the beds were luxuriously comfy and soft. The 2nd bedroom has some exposed wires but nice. The two twin beds in the 3rd were perfect for my little girls who loved having their own room.
The kitchen was a nice size and very well kept......loved the ice maker in the refrigerator! !! And the stove was perfect for cooking for the 5 of us! Having the dishwasher allowed us more fun time than hand washing as did having the huge washer and dryer!
The North bound trolley stop one street back was very convenient, although riding the Monkey Bus was great too! The big garage provided storage for the bikes, tag-alongs, & trailer, while keeping them safe and secure at night or when we were off island.
Overall we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this rental! We'd like to stay again but plan on coming back with others so will be looking for larger accommodations for a larger group.
Quyana cakneq (Yup'ik for Thank you very much) Karen for sharing this home with my family. You've opened our eyes to marvelous advantages of vacation rentals! Thank you again!
Love.. Love...Lovely home, beautiful pool, lush tropical landscaping everywhere!! The home is very spacious, well kept, beds are very comfortable (especially the master bedroom) about two blocks from the beach on a QUIET residential street, couldn't hear cars or any noise and we stayed on a busy holiday weekend. We visit AMI every year, and this rental has it all. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Note to owner/renters: There was no cleaning products (may want to bring your own)
This was our first trip ever to AMI and it exceeded our expectations...both the house and the island. The home is spacious, provides everything you need, and the pool was perfect. We really enjoyed the short 5 minute walk to the gulf and beaches...like an old-fashioned week at the beach. The island businesses were friendly and affordable, the restaurants and cafes were locally owned and fabulous. Easy to get around and thank GOD there was a Publix...being from Atlanta, we really appreciated that! Will definitely return if you'll have us!
I have been visiting Anna Maria Island for probably around 40 years. I grew up with in an hour so it was a regular get away for my family. Nearly 25 years ago my wife and I relocated to Atlanta for work. I now have an 18 year old son and 16 year old daughter that have been visiting Anna Maria since they were babies staying in various places over the years. All four of us agree that his home is probably our favorite place we have stayed during all of those years. The pool, the garage (where we stored our kayaks when not in use) and the landscaping were great. The large, open layout of the home is what we loved most. The pictures don't do it justice!
