FULL OCEANFRONT KAILUA KONA CONDO RENTAL ON WHITE SANDY BEACH

Kailua Kona Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Welcome To Our Oceanfront Kona Vacation Rental Beach House! We think it’s the best place we’ve ever stayed, and here’s why!

This Kona vacation rental house is right on a small, beautiful, sandy white beach, perfect for couples and families. You can watch dolphins and sea turtles from both the upstairs and downstairs lanais.

And this townhouse is so easy to live in! The unit has approximately 2300 sq. ft. of centrally AIR-CONDITIONED space on two floors, plus 400 sq. ft. of lanai space. And, the house was JUST remodeled! The kitchen has new granite countertops, a new stovetop, and a brand new microwave and oven. All the bathrooms were remodeled with beautiful travertine, quartz tiles, and granite countertops. New carpeting and paint throughout!

Sliding glass doors open onto two oceanfront lanais that overlook the beautiful white sand beach, the black lava rocks, the surf, and sea-life including dolphins, sea turtles, and seasonal whales.

This particular Hawaii vacation condo is unusual in that there are only 8 units, two per building, and all are oceanfront. The complex is very private and easy—no long hauls from the car or to the water. There is covered parking adjacent to the unit, and the beach starts at the bottom step of the deck!

The living room and master bedroom have full ocean views and you can hear the soothing sounds of the surf. The spacious master bedroom is a king-sized suite containing a bathroom with a whirlpool tub and separate shower, and it opens up onto an oceanfront lanai.

The second bedroom upstairs is large and has its own bath, two twin beds, and a futon sofa that converts to a double bed. It was originally two small bedrooms that were remodeled into one very spacious bedroom with a large sitting area and desk. This is why our unit has three bedrooms and the others in our complex have four, even though the square footage is approximately the same for all the units.

The downstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed and a full bathroom. It can be entered either through the house or through its own entrance, and is perfect for grandparents, a nanny, friends, or families with more than two children.

Just a short walk of about 100 yards down the beach from us, there is a hidden protected cove with resident, rather inquisitive sea turtles. Although Hawaii State law prohibits humans from approaching sea turtles, the turtles themselves seem to operate under no such restrictions. On every trip, they have swum up to check us out (and, I suspect, to see if we happen to be carrying any seaweed). This is one of the most magical experiences we have ever had as a family, and look forward to it each year.

There are lots of amenities, too, including a fully equipped kitchen featuring a Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer and koa wood cabinets, washer/dryer, air-conditioning, whirlpool tub, BBQ grill, linens, beach towels, beach toys, boogie boards, FREE unlimited high speed internet access, wireless internet access, FREE unlimited local phone calls, cable TV, iPod player, stereo (with vintage Hawaiian CD’s), CD player, and DVD and VCR players.

The Ali’i Gardens Marketplace is just across the street and down about 3 blocks. It has over 50 merchants who offer handmade products, Kona coffee, incredibly fresh produce and flowers, snorkel rentals, shave ice, and lots of other wonderful things.

Kailua-Kona is only 2 miles north of our condo and features shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Magic Sands Beach is 1 mile south and offers the best waves in town—it’s great for body surfing and boogie boarding. Kahalu’u Beach is just 2 miles south, and is one of the best snorkeling spots we’ve ever been to, especially for children. It’s protected and shallow, and filled with fish, many of which are quite tame.

And, of course, there’s all of the other great stuff Kailua Kona is famous for, including Swimming, Snorkeling, Diving, Boating, Kayaking, Sailing, Surfing, Windsurfing, Parasailing, Tide Pools, Seasonal Whale Watching, Luaus, Wildlife Viewing; Submarine Rides; Hiking, Biking, Golf, Tennis, Fishing, Shopping, Restaurants, Cinemas, Sightseeing, Museums, and Horseback Riding.

Now, if our words haven’t yet convinced you why we think this Hawaii vacation rental is really great, we’re hoping our photographs will!

Aloha and thank you for considering our home for your vacation.

We're a family in love with Hawaii! We looked at houses for almost 15 years before we found the 'perfect' vacation home-- we LOVE this house and the coastline it inhabits.

Marty purchased this condo in 2003

First of all, we love the location. The protected cove just down the shoreline is a perfect place to go with kids. It's easy and convenient-- something we really value when we're vacationing. Plus, it's very safe for children to go in the water there, compared to many places along the Kona coast-- especially in high surf. Sand is pretty rare, too, since most of the coastline is pure lava rock.

Second, we've been told by realtors that the unit has the largest square footage of any condo on the water in the Kailua Kona area-- by a long shot. We're pretty sure this is true because we haven't seen anything as large. This extra space allows everyone to spread out and be comfortable.

Third, we love being so close to the ocean. Many 'oceanfront' properties, while technically oceanfront, are so far from the water that you can't hear the waves. We also discovered, in our 15 years of searching, that a property as a whole might be oceanfront, but a particular unit can be very far from the water.

Fourth, we discovered the hard way that central air-conditioning was a necessity for our family. We first started traveling when our children were young, and were swayed by the ads promising that the 'island breezes' were all that anyone would need. Unless you had toddlers running around and weren't comfortable leaving the windows and sliding glass doors open at night!

Finally, the configuration of the house was perfect for traveling with extended family-- each group has their own roomy bedroom and private bathroom.

There were lots of other reasons, but we're hitting the space limit here-- suffice it to say that after 15 years of looking, we think we hit gold!

In the years that we've been vacationing in this house, we've been fortunate to have a number of wonderful experiences.

First, it was a perfect configuration to have extended family-- sharing the Kona experience with children and their grandparents is beyond description.

Also, the unit is so close to the ocean and the water is so clear that you can actually see fish swimming in the waves just before they crest (don't forget to bring your polarized sunglasses!). We leave our binoculars in the unit for guests in hope that they are lucky enough to spot some of the cool sea-life we've watched from the lanais, including sea turtles, spinner dolphins, manta rays, and whales. Seriously, whale watching from the lanai-- it doesn't get much better than that!

This was a wonderful condo for our time in Kona. We were traveling with four children and everyone had plenty of room to spread out! Our children LOVED the turtles and were regular visitors to the cove. We also had a lot of fun with the boogie boards (provided in the closet of the condo) at White Sands beach and snorkeling at Kahaluu Bay. It was a great location for the other activities we did (surfing, manta ray snorkel, Mauna Kea summit trip). During our time in Kona, a highlight was always returning to the lanai of the condo. The view (and sound of the ocean) from the lanais are amazing!

Perfect oceanfront condo

Our family group of six adults and one infant loved every minute of our stay in this gorgeous condo. Everything we needed, from extensive kitchen equipment to a large beach umbrella, was available. The condo was very clean. The parking spot is just steps from the door. The complex was quiet and the neighbors were extremely friendly and helpful.
Each time we thought about going into Kailua-Kona to have dinner or drinks, we realized that we had the best possible ocean view right from the lanai. We ate almost all our meals at the outside table and loved watching and listening to the waves. When it grew warm in the early evening, we were grateful for the central AC which let us sleep very comfortably.
We did manage to drag ourselves away from the condo to snorkel in several great places, take surfing lessons, scuba dive, tour an organic coffee farm, and snorkel at night with manta rays. We enjoyed walking to the nearby calm little cove and seeing the sea turtles. The location of the condo is perfect - close to the town of Kailua-Kona, but far from the touristy hustle and bustle. We appreciated the filtered water to refill our water bottles and the recycling available on site. Overall, we had a fabulous time and were sorry to have to return home and leave paradise.

This condo was perfect!

This condo was perfect! Everything it was represented to be, very nicely furnished, classy yet homey, of course, the location is the kicker! Fall asleep to the crashing of the waves on the lava coast, white sand interspersed through the black lava, such a beautiful, extreme island! And the turtle cove! It's literally just down the beach, and the turtles came to commune with us each time we went there. Protected from the ocean waves, you can wade out, barely thigh-deep, and turtles come to swim by you. We can't touch them, but they definitely touched us! I loved Chris & Marty's house, and hope to stay there again--I hope in the not too distant future! Only 2.5 miles from Kailua/Kona town, so not right in the thick of things, but easily accessible if you want to enjoy restaurants, shopping etc.
