Our condo is located at Dauphin Surf Club on the Gulf of Mexico. Dauphin Island is located 3 miles off the Alabama Coast, 33 miles to the south of Mobile, and 120 miles to the east of New Orleans. Swim in the pool, walk on the beach, or take in some of the activities on Dauphin Island. For golfers, there is a beautiful par 73 course right on the beach. Charter a boat for some of the best Deep Sea Fishing on the Gulf Coast. The island's public beach has a 450 ft. fishing pier. You can also take a historical tour through Fort Gaines or visit the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. The 160 acre Audubon Bird Sanctuary is home to many different species and a 'stop off' point for hundreds of bird species. There is a variety of stores, bike and kayak rentals, charter boats, and a nice jogging and bike trail. Dauphin Island is accessible from I-10 using exit 17, State hwy 193 to the south. Driving, one will encounter 2 stop signs for the 23 mile trek to the Island.

Slice of Heaven

The owners are very helpful and prompt in communicating. They are kind enough to provide a list of things to do and places to see. Excellent location if you want to be away from it all. I spent a week with a girlfriend and her daughter (Aug 3-9). Perfect weather for any activity. A short drive from all attractions on the island. Also a good location for all the other things to do in the area. A safe and clean unit to live in for the week with a short walk to a private beach and the pool is nice too. It felt like our own little slice of heaven. Everyone is so nice (locals and tourists) that it makes you feel right at home. I recommend seeing the sights and attractions (what little there may be) for they really make you appreciate what there is in and around Dauphin Island. Take your time to enjoy the little things too. The only downside to visiting a place like this is having to come back home to the "real world".

Wonderful snowbird retreat

My husband and I rented this condo sight unseen from Illinois. We stayed for the month of March and it exceeded all our expectations. The owner was very accomodating before we arrived, and the condo managers went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The condo suited us perfectly, small enough to manage easily but large enough to have family and friends visit during the month. The Dauphin Surf Club was quiet, well maintained, with friendly neighbors, mostly owners. We walked the beautiful, empty beach every day, biked the entire island, took day trips to Mobile, Ft. Morgan and Fairhope, gorged on wonderful fresh seafood and just relaxed. By the time we left, we really felt like locals. As new retirees, we really enjoyed this location for our first great adventure. We truly had the most excellent experience. We would recommend this property to anyone who wants a quiet, low key getaway.

A Wonderful GetAway

The owners are really in tune with what is needed for your week get away from all the rush of normal life. We camped out at the condo and beach the whole week for no other purpose just to slow down. Its just breathtaking to walk out your door and enjoy the gulf breeze. We will be returning again!
