Artist's loft on Ile de la Cite overlooking the river Seine.
My lovely studio is in a 17th Century building on Ile de la Cite in the center of Paris.
We are part of the 4eme arrondisement and located on the river Quai or Bank of the river. It is in one of the oldest parts of Paris and right next to the Cathedral of Notre Dame.
Being right on the bank of the river means we have open unobstructed views of Paris.
It is a very, very quiet block without a lot of foot or car traffic. For the Cathedral you make a left going out the door and walk about a block and a half where you can't miss it. For the restaurants and cafes you just walk in any direction for about 5-7 minutes and you have Paris at your fingertips. It is a very affluent neighborhood with the courts, the "Hopital Dieu", and the "prefecture de police", making it safe and quiet, but arms length from everything you'd want to see and do. fyi - click on the map and you'll see what I'm talking about! :)
The apartment is located on the French 4th floor and American 5th, that is accessed either by the winding wooden staircase or our brand new elevator.
Although flooded with light, I have pull down black out shades to ensure a restful night's sleep. The windows are new and double paned, ensuring a really quiet visit.
If you choose to leave the windows open in summer you'll hear the bells of Notre Dame at 8:30 am or the boats chugging by. It is delightful!
There is a fully equipped kitchen with a two burner induction stove top(heats in a second!), full fridge, oven, dishwasher and combo washer-dryer. There is a full size uber comfy bed, and a delicious powershower making this place amazingly comfortable. I have a flatscreen TV,with the BBC, CNN, and various movie channels in English, (as well as a plethora of European channels), WIFI, and a telephone landline with free calls to the US, Europe and many, many other destinations ( we keep a list for you in the apt) that you will find on your arrival. I also have a sort of guide book for my guests, which includes favorite haunts and all sorts of useful info you may need. My lovely home is filled with art and antiques from the markets and auctions of Paris, Italy and my beloved New York. I just ask that you treat it with kindness and be respectful of my neighbors! I live in a very coveted part of town and I'd like to keep it that way! :)
Please don't hesitate to ask questions and a bientot j'espere!

Antique dealer and interior designer, based in Brooklyn, New York. I split my time between there and my beloved Paris.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2009
I have been buying and exporting antiques for my store and my design clients from Paris for years. It is a second home and a well loved one.
There are the most delicious restaurants, cafes, boulangeries, and fromageries in the area. Waking up each morning and seeing the seine, is so good for the soul. It is amazing to me to be dead center of Paris and have it be so peaceful. Dramatic and sexy, that's what this apt is to me.
