We offer luxury furnished apartment with availability throughout the year.

This one bedroom apartment with one bathroom on the second floor of historic Art Deco building is steps from world class restaurants, avant-garde theaters, trendy cafes and the best shopping this city has to offer. The apartment is decorated with passion and attention to detail: classic modern furniture, color coordinated organic sheets, rugs, cotton linens, kitchen and bath ware.

The building features a small outdoor seating patio with gas grill, free washer and dryer (shared in the basement) and close proximity to Metro only block and a half away.

Garage parking is available near our unit for $20 to $30 a day.

Street parking is by permit only between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. We can get visitor's parking pass for you from a local police station for $40 for the stay, and you can park, day and night, on the street. The parking pass is for zone 1, so any street marked zone 1 on the signs is fine (quite a large area). Please note that during the season the streets get cleaned -please read signs clearly and visibly posted on each street when you must move your car for street cleaning.

About Eva

hi, originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Washington DC has become my second home twelve years ago when I came to study at Georgetown University. I live in this wonderful city with my two boys Alexander and Christopher, only few blocks from the rental property. We spend every weekend at a museum (Air and Space is the favorite), hiking through Rock Creek Park or on a fifty year old carousel in front of the Smithsonian Gardens and we hope that all our guests enjoy this vibrant city as much as we do. Why Eva chose U Street Corridor

As a single mom I need to provide for my two boys. I love to travel and so do my kids. Most of the time I travel out of DC and the situation helped me see that just as I love to leave the city and to explore other places, there are people who come to visit DC to spend time with their families. My two boys, my family, are the best critics of any place, as no furnishings are safe from their play and no vase is sacred to them. Our places are luxurious but ready to be used. I understand what most travelers need to feel comfortable since I have traveled extensively around the world to Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Europe . Please come and share your vacation time in our home. I promise that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. This is the reason I bought my rental property.

What makes this condo unique

From our apartment in the heart of Dupont Circle the access to all the tourist attractions, world famous restaurants, great bars and the biggest selection of privately owned galleries is just steps away. The metro stop is only a block and a half away, next to Starbucks. The 14 Street buses run directly downtown from our bus station at the end of the block; every two minutes during rush hour and every six minutes other times. The White house, The Mall and The Smithsonian Museums are less than a mile away; about fifteen minute walk or few metro stops.

Worked out great

The location was perfect for our purposes in DC. We would gladly stay here again. We were able to walk to the places needing to go to. Note though, that this unit is not meant for more more than 2 people. It is tiny and thus privacy was lacking. However, Eva was easy to work with and there were no problems at all. The unit was spotless, no bugs, everything one could need was in the kitchen, but window in bathroom needs new privacy. While showering, I felt like someone was watching from another building. Trader Joe's just around the corner for most anything one would need. Restaurants such as Le Diplomate and Pearl Oyster Bar also within walking distance. Wine shops, boutiques, and other things to do. A bit of walk if going into the heart of DuPont Circle. Only issue is with parking which is not a fault of Eva's. It seems useless to get a parking pass from the police department because there is no parking on the street unless you get damn lucky. We parked about 15 minute walk from the apartment, but you don't get in and out privileges there, which for us wasn't an issue. I spent 20 minutes driving around to find somewhere close enough to park just to unload and load the car back up with luggage.

Negligent Management

We will not stay at this apartment again. The owner was out of the country (I guess they don't have adequate e-mail capabilities in Europe), and is generally a horrible communicator and does not seem to care about the well-being of her guests - only about alleviating herself of any direct accountability for issues.

Specific problems that we encountered:
1) We had to email the owner multiple times to ask if the apartment had a Pack-n-Play for our infant son and to get instructions for checking in.
2) We did not finally receive check-in instructions until *2 days* before our arrival. The owner's complete and unedited explanation for this was, "Sorry for the delay - I am in Europe."
3) The apartment had no running water for the first day that we arrived. This was due to a water main break in the street, but when we emailed the owner about the problem her complete and unedited response two full days later was, "The water was off because of WASA, not because of anything in the building. Enjoy your stay." We're not sure what WASA is. We are sure that infants and people in town for a wedding need running water. Some help or at least sympathy for our situation would have been great.
4) Apparently Eva double-booked us and another family in the same unit. The other family knocked on our door to ask if we had the wrong unit because they were booked in the same location. They too, could not get a hold of Eva and were stuck trying to reach the cleaning service representative, who does not speak English, hoping she could help sort it out because "Eva was in Europe."
5) We paid the required cleaning fee but the check-in instructions that we received two days before arriving still asked us to start a load of laundry before leaving. The unit doesn't even have a washing machine, so we simply ignored this one. (Sorry, Eva.)
6) We saw a roach in the hallway on the way out. Not inside the actual unit, but still gross and definitely inside the building.

On the plus side the location was great and the unit was nicely furnished. Next time we are in DC we will look for a unit in the same area and a better owner.

I am sorry, about several things.
First of all, I have made an exception to accommodate you and your baby for 2 night stay only (I have a 3 night min).
Prior your reserving the apt, I confirmed I'll have a pac n play for your baby.
I have emailed arrival info to all my guests - yours is perhaps still in your spam.
I had left detailed phone recording on my phone while in Europe, incl. two emergency contacts, both avail. 24/7; you called neither of them.
I did re-send arrival info while in Europe the day after you emailed me - yes, I was on email ONLY once a day while on vacation in Europe.
Water was shut off on the entire block for few hours that day - WASA is DC water co. According to my cleaner, there were few "WASA" trucks on the street while the water was off, a good hint something might be going on.
The building is sprayed monthly and I pride myself on cleanliness of my apartments. I assume you saw a water bug - DC was built on swamps so please educate yourself, instead of providing untruthful info.

Great VRBO choice! 4.99 stars!

Location! Location! Location! We could not have asked for a better location for our DC visit! Our group of four adults rolled into DC from the GAP-C&O Towpath on our bikes. We chose this particular listing because it could accommodate four people, was near a bike shop, Fed Ex, grocery store, and Metro Line. We were not disappointed. The owner was great to work with and provides a clean, safe, easily accessible property. While the convertible bed was a bit hard, the owner has made provisions that make it more than acceptable; some people may be a little more high maintenance and find it a hassle to use a futon pad or inflatable bed. The well-equiped kitchen, laundry, nearby restaurants, and general location made this a great VRBO experience!

DC Vacation

We had a great stay at this comfortable apartment. The apartment is exactly as described in the listing and Eva was easy to contact via email and phone to answer any questions. The apartment is a few blocks from the awesome DC Metro which we used every day to head to the various DC attractions. We also enjoyed the numerous restaurants in the surrounding neighborhood which are all within easy walking distance. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

Family Vacationers

This apartment was the perfect option for a weeklong stay for our family of four. We were out and about seeing sights, but it was so nice to come home and relax with everything we could possibly need provided. It was a busy week but also relaxing because we were able to chill out in a nice place when necessary. The location was fantastic - easy, safe walk to metro stations. We drove to the city and parked our car, but never used it. Lots of places close by to eat and Trader Joe's one minute around the corner. Everyone we met in DC was nice and helpful. It is a fantastic family vacation with so much to do. I would absolutely return to Eva's if we go back to DC!
