About The Owner

hi, originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Washington DC has become my second home twelve years ago when I came to study at Georgetown University. I live in this wonderful city with my two boys Alexander and Christopher, only few blocks from the rental property. We spend every weekend at a museum (Air and Space is the favorite), hiking through Rock Creek Park or on a fifty year old carousel in front of the Smithsonian Gardens and we hope that all our guests enjoy this vibrant city as much as we do. Why The Owner chose Dupont Circle

As a single mom I need to provide for my two boys. I love to travel and so do my kids. Most of the time I travel out of DC and the situation helped me see that just as I love to leave the city and to explore other places, there are people who come to visit DC to spend time with their families. My two boys, my family, are the best critics of any place, as no furnishings are safe from their play and no vase is sacred to them. Our places are luxurious but ready to be used. I understand what most travelers need to feel comfortable since I have traveled extensively around the world to Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Europe . Please come and share your vacation time in our home. I promise that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. This is the reason I bought my rental property.

What makes this condo unique

From our apartment in the heart of Dupont Circle the access to all the tourist attractions, world famous restaurants, great bars and the biggest selection of privately owned galleries is just steps away. The metro stop is only a block and a half away, next to Starbucks. The 14 Street buses run directly downtown from our bus station at the end of the block; every two minutes during rush hour and every six minutes other times. The White house, The Mall and The Smithsonian Museums are less than a mile away; about fifteen minute walk or few metro stops.

Great Stay

We had an excellent stay at this location. The kitchen had everything we possibly could have needed for the stay. We ate breakfast and dinner here every day with no trouble or inconvenience whatsoever. Bed was extremely comfortable.
We had no trouble with the location, but we also aren't afraid of some walking- it's also jus a block from a metro station, making it really convenient.
Would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to several people already.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Wonderful Location

I will try not to repeat what the other reviewers have said. The location, as others have said, is excellent. You are about fifteen or twenty minutes from all the tourist attractions via the subway, which is only about two blocks away. The neighborhood itself is very safe, which is never assured when staying in DC. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The apartment is well-furnished. The only overnight parking I could find was about six blocks away, but maybe I missed something closer.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Lovely apartment in a lovely area

We stayed at this apartment for two weeks and I could not recommend it highly enough. It was in a great area and only minutes from a supermarket, Starbucks and metro. In the two weeks we spent in Washington we simply walked everywhere we wanted. The apartment was clean, and very comfortable. Also, the owner and her assistant are very kind and quick to answer doubts. I would definitely stay there again and have no reservations in recommending this apartment for anyone willling for a comfortable stay in DC.

Great Washington DC Location

We enjoyed our stay in Washington DC. The unit we selected is located 2 blocks from a metro stop and enabled us to travel everywhere as we did not rent a car for our 9 day stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable, especially the queen sized bed. There was plenty of drawer and closet space for clothing and personal belongings. The neighborhood was relatively quiet for sleeping, except for an occasional siren,etc. (city sounds) The kitchen was well appointed with microwave, coffee pot, toaster oven and plenty of dishes for daily use. Wireless connection allowed us to use our computer to check out many leads on sights to see. The flat screen TV was great for weather updates, etc. The neighborhood corner market and an organic supermarket several blocks away provided us with quick and convenient grocery options. Many wonderful restaurants are within easy walking distance and easy to get into without reservations. The property owner was responsive and helpful in answering our questions and helping with suggestions. All in all, it met all of our expectations for a confortable place and was a good value for the neighborhood area. We would highly recommend it to others wanting to spend time seeing all of the sights in DC.

There is only one usable sleeping accomodation. The 'fold-out couch' is too short and has no mattress. The television was inoperable on our last evening. We found nowhere serving a full-breakfast within a reasonable walking distance. There are several 'fast food' restaurants, but no 'sit-down' restaurants or diners for an all-important first meal of the day.

the fold out couch is a queen size. There is a foam top to go on the top of the folded out sofa in the closet. That is reality.
There are at least five delicious restaurants within FEW blocks away serving breakfast :
Busboys and Poets(1.5 BLOCK) , Point Chaud Cafe & Crepes().5block), Cafe Collage(0.5 block), Whole Foods(5 blocks), Commissary (5 blocks),....
If you had pressed a wrong button on a tv and could not get the tv work again, as well as not finding breakfast place in spite of my folder and guide books of DC in the apt, why not just pick up a phone and call me? I did not hear from you once. I live 5 blocks away in the same area and love to give recommendations, especially on the small businesses our area is known for.
