This one bedroom apartment with one bathroom on the second floor of historic Art Deco building is steps from world class restaurants, avant-garde theaters, trendy cafes and the best shopping this city has to offer. The apartment is decorated with passion and attention to detail: classic modern furniture, color coordinated organic sheets, rugs, cotton linens, kitchen and bath ware.
The building features a small outdoor seating patio with gas grill, free washer and dryer (shared in the basement) and close proximity to Metro only block and a half away.
Garage parking is available near our unit for $20 to $30 a day.
Street parking is by permit only between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. We can get visitor's parking pass for you from a local police station for $40 for the stay, and you can park, day and night, on the street. The parking pass is for zone 1, so any street marked zone 1 on the signs is fine (quite a large area). Please note that during the season the streets get cleaned -please read signs clearly and visibly posted on each street when you must move your car for street cleaning.

hi, originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Washington DC has become my second home twelve years ago when I came to study at Georgetown University. I live in this wonderful city with my two boys Alexander and Christopher, only few blocks from the rental property. We spend every weekend at a museum (Air and Space is the favorite), hiking through Rock Creek Park or on a fifty year old carousel in front of the Smithsonian Gardens and we hope that all our guests enjoy this vibrant city as much as we do. As a single mom I need to provide for my two boys. I love to travel and so do my kids. Most of the time I travel out of DC and the situation helped me see that just as I love to leave the city and to explore other places, there are people who come to visit DC to spend time with their families. My two boys, my family, are the best critics of any place, as no furnishings are safe from their play and no vase is sacred to them. Our places are luxurious but ready to be used. I understand what most travelers need to feel comfortable since I have traveled extensively around the world to Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Europe . Please come and share your vacation time in our home. I promise that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. This is the reason I bought my rental property.
From our apartment in the heart of Dupont Circle the access to all the tourist attractions, world famous restaurants, great bars and the biggest selection of privately owned galleries is just steps away. The metro stop is only a block and a half away, next to Starbucks. The 14 Street buses run directly downtown from our bus station at the end of the block; every two minutes during rush hour and every six minutes other times. The White house, The Mall and The Smithsonian Museums are less than a mile away; about fifteen minute walk or few metro stops.
Great location with coffee shops, restaurants, etc., close by. Charming neighborhood with a lot of foot traffic. Farmers market close by in the spring/summer. Metro was only a few blocks away. I do have to say the bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept on at a rental. Only problem I had was an issue with getting the lock box open. Could use directions for the remotes and TV.
My family and I enjoyed our stay in this small but cozy apartment. It has almost everything including cooking essentials and ironing tools. Also, the location is great with walking distance to the bus stop and the green-line metro. The nearby Trader Joe and restaurants give you options to have meals before heading out and coming "home". The owner, Eva is very responsible. She helped us to get the street parking permit and replied any questions as soon as she could. Thanks much for that Eva! The only thing we disliked was the footsteps from upstairs in the early morning. But overall, we like the apartment and will consider to stay again in the future.
My family and I could not have asked for a better situation. Excellent apartment, amazing neighborhood, wonderful restaurants, and a Trader Joe's right around the corner! We will be back. Thanks Eva.
Good points: Getting in and out was simple. The apartment was pretty much what I expected from the listing. All the essential things--bed, bath, kitchen--were fine. Good TV with apparently hundreds of channels. The recently renovated kitchen was especially nice and fully equipped. The location is excellent. An amazing amount of DC attractions are within a reasonable walk (say 2 miles), and the green-line metro is just a few blocks away. Groceries are nearby at Trader Joe and slightly farther at Whole Foods. Lots of popular restaurants and bars are on 14th street. The wifi worked (although sometimes seemed to chug).
Caveats: We were there during a cold snap, and the apartment was very warm. To be comfortable we actually had to open windows, and I noticed others in the building doing the same thing. While the apartment was completely satisfactory for two adults, it would seem very tight with 4 adults. maybe two additional small children would work. The unit is oriented on a north-south axis, so the back units (with even numbers) are facing north, and so there is little natural light except in the bedrooms (on the back). They are, on the other hand, away from the street and so probably on average quieter (but the early morning trash trucks can be loud on the north side early in the morning). the views on the north side are pretty grim. There is some noise transmitted between floors, including just footsteps. If you were unlucky and your upstairs neighbors were loud, it would be unpleasant.
Overall: for us it was comfortable and convenient; the price was reasonable. I expect to be staying here again in the future.
Great little apartment, perfect for couples! Fantastic location with the metro station nearby. Great place for people who are interested in a bit of night life when visiting DC. Eva is easy to work with and very responsive. Trader Joe's is around the corner. We did not rent a car, so parking was not a problem. We did Car2Go, and it worked out fine. For those new to DC, look up the rail line to and from Reagan National airport; it's way cheaper than a taxi and there is a stop within blocks of this apartment. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this apartment to others.
This flat had no heat. When we asked Eva about it, she said we didn't need heat since it was warm that day. It was 63 degrees in the day, and in the 40's that night. Eva said she "knew" it was 72 degrees in there. How? There was no thermostat, and we could see our breath in the bedroom. No - it felt closer to 60 degrees. She said there was a small heater in the closet we could use. It didn't help at all. Also, some of the sheets were dirty. What do we pay a cleaning fee for? I would not suggest anyone stay there if they want heat in the flat. If you don't want heat though, and you don't mind your sheets a little dirty - it was great, and with an awesome location.
