This house sits on high ground that is 25 feet above sea level; accordingly, there was no damage or flooding from Hurricane Sandy. 99% of the homes in Ocean Grove experienced no damage from the storm. The far end of the Ocean Grove Fishing Pier and 40% of the Boardwalk were damaged. FEMA money came thru so the Boardwalk was rebuilt and reopened on July 3, 2014. The Fishing Pier will be rebuilt in the Fall of 2014. The Boardwalk on our side of town was protected by the dunes and experienced no damage. Additionally, none of the businesses in the village of Ocean Grove experienced any damage. Bottom line, Ocean Grove is alive & well. In fact, Ocean Grove is thriving as many refugees from other towns that were damaged by Sandy relocated to Ocean Grove.
