This modern log home offers the charm of stained log walls and the cozy feel of a country cabin--a perfect getaway for all. We are within 20 minutes to Mt. Shasta Ski/Board Park and 30 minutes to Shasta Lake. Convenient to Castle Crags State Park or the historic towns of Castella, Mt. Shasta City and McCloud. Under mature timbers, the rear deck overlooks the best fishing hole in town. Complete with a full kitchen, gas bbq, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot/grinder, washer/dryer, WI-FI cable TV and CD stereo. Take a quick drive or short walk to town where you will find local markets, gourmet restaurants, coffee bars, and a micro brewrey.

Professional fishing guides are available for beginning or advanced instruction/guide on this blue ribbon fishing river and other local lakes and streams

We grew up in Dunsmuir We decided to build a vacation home in Dunsmuir so our family could gather for the seasonal activities. It is a perfect place to gather with friends and family to enjoy all seasons.

What makes this house unique

Rafting/tubing, swimming and fishing right out the back door. A quick drive to water ski or boat on Shasta Lake or the many other local lakes. Conveniently located to trails and mountains for hikes or exploration. The waterfalls are abundant and breathtaking. Mt. Shasta Ski/Board Park is within 20 minutes and the lift tickets are reasonable without traffic issues-- night and cross country skiing is available too. The community offers scenic drives to historic railroad, timber, fishing and health conscious points of interest.

Great Stay!

We stayed two nights in this log home. It was fantastic experience and the whole family and friends enjoyed the stay. Our kids also had lot of fun there and they were excited to stay in such nice log home. Also Dunsmuir is excellent location for access to Mt Shasta and other places. Mike was easy to work with in the whole process and very responsive. Had wonderful vacation! This log home will be my choice when I visit Mt. Shasta again.

Wonderful Dunsmuir Vacation Home!

My family & I had a wonderful stay at the Marshall's log home in Dunsmuir. We were visiting family in Dunsmuir so this was the perfect location for us. Our girls loved hearing the train go by. The listing photos do not do this home justice! It is spacious & bright with lots of windows. Our girls LOVED the upstairs loft area & big bedroom. We loved the spacious back deck overlooking the river. The home was very clean & well-maintained with lots of extra pillows & bed linens if needed. The washer & dryer were great to have as well. The Marshall's were very helpful during the whole process & the transaction was very easy. I would definitely recommend this home to a friend or relative :)

Great Place to Stay!

I just returned from a trip to Dunsmuir and stayed at this cabin for two nights. The location is perfect as its within walking distance to some nice fishing spots, including one right off the back deck. You can also easily walk into town, which we did both nights for dinner. The cabin is very clean, spacious and well appointed. The booking, payment, and check-in process was easy and stress-free. Highly recommended.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time in the log home. It was fully equipped and very clean. It was private and very accomodating. The log home was neat because it definately gave it that cabin-like feeling. It did not seem like just a regular home rental. It was great. Dunsmuir is cute small town only a few minutes from the city of Shasta and Mt Shasta.The owners were very helpful in the rental process and made it quick and easy. Thanks for letting us stay there. We had a wonderful time!

Fantabulous place!

8 of us stayed here from my Chico-Oroville Outdoor Adventurers Meetup group last Winter for a xc sking and hiking event. The home had everything and WAY BEYOND expectations! We all loved staying here!
From booking to stayjng here, and communication with the owners is most memorable in a positive way.
Thou I brought some of my own pans to cook our gourmet type meals, the kitchen was better stocked with every kitchen gadget than my own home! In addition there were spices and other things that one might need if grand cooks as we are. We were prepared and did not need these additional comforts.
Being right next to river, a large deck with a barbie make our weekend perfect during our stay!
If you are thinking of staying here, may I suggest that you do!
I am planning on a returning trip here with my meetup in 2012.
Enjoy this wonderful place and a big thank you to owners for opening up this wonderful place to stay at!
