The Palisades Art House(ThePAH) is a sunlight flooded home, in the Pacific Palisades set up for creative people offering the ultimate Californian living experience. Located in a magical setting in the lofty hills of the Santa Monica Mountains, surrounded by tall bamboo, situated between two state Parks (Will Rodgers & Temescal Canyon). ThePAH has an 180 degree sunrise to sunset ocean view, featuring the famous “Queens Necklace” perspective of the Santa Monica Bay. On clear days Catalina Island seems to be only a stone throw away. The ambience is much like that of a fine Bed and Breakfast Inn, combining the best of hotel and home. Built in a modern architectural style the house offers large Studio-Rooms, private decks and patios on multiple levels. The living room is a bright open space with big panoramic windows, a master piece of a fire place and a beautiful kitchen area. It's a chefs dream! The house is very quiet and has a beautiful Zen backyard. Trail heads for hiking start just up the street and lead direct into the Santa Monica Mountain State Parks. It is in walking distance to the "Village".
ThePAH has the Pacific Ocean at it's feet and backs against the Santa Monica Mountain State Parks, a nature corridor of 55 miles by 10 miles stretching northeast with hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails. The Santa Monica Parks are full of wildlife. Here hikers can still encounter mountain lions, bobcats and deer, as well as many other swimming, buzzing, crawling, climbing, hopping and winged creatures. The parks are dotted with many waterfalls and beautiful waterholes you can swim in. It is said that after rainfall, the water streaming down the mountains is so clean you can drink it. The Santa Monica Mountains are a paradise for nature lovers and one of the best kept secret in the Los Angeles area.
The Pacific Palisades Village still feels like a tranquil and peaceful small California seaside beach town and is seldom discovered by the average Los Angeles visitor. Drawn to this area by its positive energy, fertile ground and beauty, Chumasch Indians inhabited it for thousands of years. Many sacred sites can still be felt and found around the mountains. In later days, it became home to many artists from all over the world, who were attracted by the same high vibrations. Non lesser then the German writer and Nobel Prize winner Thomas Mann chose the Pacific Palisades as his home town when he resided here during the second world war in his exile days. The same creative spirit is still alive today, with the many entertainers, super-athletes and artists living here that have made the Pacific Palisades their home. The Palisades Village has everything you would expect from a southern Californian beach town. Small quaint streets with a surf shop, a variety of eateries and hip boutiques. Every Sunday morning the stalls of a bustling market fill the town's center. Here farmers sell anything, from fresh strawberries to exotic flowers to popcorn. It is said that the Tamalis are the best in L.A.! Driving from the Pacific Palisades into Beverly Hills or Hollywood is nothing but a pleasure(avoid rush hours). It is as scenic and exciting as it gets. Cruising along Sunset Blvd. with your top down is a blast, passing many famous villas and mansions(including Arnold's) owned by the many entertainers that have settled here on the Westside of Los Angeles!
