Villa Playa Del Faro and Villa Isla Negra are identical and adjacent villas for rent in Mexico.
They are brand new, elegant oceanfront vacation rental homes located in the Yucatan Peninsula's Gulf of Mexico. These comfortable, spacious retreats are your home away from home, with beautiful ocean views and fresh sea breeze day and night.
Both villas are located in a quiet area with American, Canadian and British neighbors who live there months at a time. We are only 45 minutes north of the large, colonial city of Merida (population over 1 million people), which has an international airport (Code MID) featuring direct flights from Houston, Miami, Atlanta and Mexico City. The best connections are on Continental Airlines, offering 1 stop service from most US cities directly to Merida. You can also save money by flying into the resort area of Cancun, which is about a three hour drive from the villas. In addition, luxury buses often travel from Cancun to Merida.
Both villas have a unique design using Talavera tiles. They both have finished bathrooms, kitchen and stairway giving it a definite Mexican style. These are new constructions accommodating 4-6 people in each villa. Just a few steps out your door, your private gate opens onto a deserted white sandy beach that you can explore for miles. One can swim, snorkel and fish in the warm aqua-blue waters of the Gulf. The beach is peaceful with shallow waters and does not have sea grass. It is perfect for relaxing, swimming and collecting a variety of shells is always fascinating! At the end of the day, you will be amazed by the breathtaking sunsets, the sound of the waves and the blanket of stars above. This part of the Gulf of Mexico has not been affected by the recent oil spill in the north; the turquoise waters and white sands of the Yucatan beaches are still pristine and unpolluted. The quiet, warm Gulf breeze is made for delicious tropical nights!
Both villas have two bedrooms with a private bathroom with a shower and a balcony. The master bedrooms in both villas have an oceanfront terrace with a spectacular view. The master bedroom has a queen bed; the second bedroom has two queen beds. Downstairs, is the kitchen with an open plan dining area and lounge look out to the outdoor patio area with its outdoor dining set, long chairs and beach chairs. A terracotta and Talavera tiles charcoal barbecue with an inbuilt sink and cooking area are ideal for your ocean view barbecues by the pool.
Both villas are on a long white sandy beach, that is almost deserted for most of the year. The beach is just steps down from our terraces. You can walk for miles collecting sea shells and watching pelicans dive for fish. You will meet a handful of fishermen and one or two foreigners – otherwise, you will usually have the beach to yourself. Telchac Puerto is home to a large American Flamingo colony and other bird species.
You could stay in this area for a long time and not run out of things to do. The local people are very friendly and helpful, and will gladly assist you even if you do not speak Spanish.
We have an English speaking caretaker if you need assistance. She will meet you and show you around both villas.
Historic Merida is a city dating back to the 1600's with an amazing original architecture in the Centro district. Once can experience music and dancing and on Sunday mornings rent a bike and tour the city on several streets just for cyclists. You will love the fabulous restaurants and outdoor cafes in Merida, and the shopping is great!
In addition, one can visit modern Merida with its ice skating rink in the center of the mall, a fascinating zoo and VIP movie theaters with lounge chairs and cocktail services. If you are homesick, one can even find Home Depot, Costco, Wall Mart, McDonald, Sears, and Starbucks.
There is much to do near the villas including visiting Mayan ruins (Dzibilchaltun, Chichen Itza, Uxmal etc.), swimming in Cenotes (underground rivers), fishing, lots of shopping, or just relaxing on the beach. The area is culturally interesting and will provide you with insights into true Mexican life.

We are a professional Canadian couple in mid thirties. We spend several weeks per year at Villa Playa Del Faro and make sure that it is kept well maintained and comfortable for guests, our proprety manager take care of the house and the swimming pool every week, the Villa is cleaned even if it's not occupied.
The Owner purchased this villa in 2010
we decided to buy a Telchac for tranquility, a lot of activities and Mayan sites to visit in the area, friendliness of the people and especially for safety, we can walk around the city day and night, while feeling safe. The other reason, we are close to the beautiful colonial city of Merida, where we can enjoy a dinner in trendy restaurants, take a walk around downtown, going to the cinema or visit the zoo.
Just want to let you know we enjoyed your villa very much and had a nice time. We enjoyed the laid back town of Telchac and visited several other towns and ruins. Mauricio was helpful and prompt when needed. We also enjoyed the Quebec-Canada neighbors!
We have just returned home from a lovely 10 day stay at this beautiful "casa". The home was comfortable, well stocked and ideally situated! Thank you Imad for making our first "private rental" a pleasure! We really appreciated all of Mauricio's help too! Would highly recommend your villa to all of our friends as long as they don't want to be there when we do!!!
The house was beautiful. I view was spectacular! We did have a small issue with the A/C there was a small deposit for the electricity. We stayed for 7 nights. We went to Xcambo Ruins (right there) and to Uxmal and then to Lo-Tun. My kids loved it!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Villa, my only complaint was not having more time to enjoy it! The house is exactly as advertised and is beautiful. The view from the back patio is amazing to watch the sunset and put your feet up and relax. Property was clean, well maintained, and kitchen was well stocked. Would definitely recommend!
Our family of five just returned from a truly wonderful stay at this lovely villa in Telchac. Everything you could possibly need or want is available and easily accessible. We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful Mexican beaches, the amazing ruins and the fabulous food all while knowing that at the end of the day we were coming “home.” There were also days that we didn’t leave town and those days were spent collecting shells and fishing off the pier with the kids.
THE HOUSE: wonderful amenities, charming décor and incredibly comfortable. Located within walking distance of ANYTHING you may need. Well designed to maximize the breezes and the views. We needed WiFi and were incredibly happy with the ease and speed of the connection available at the villa. What you see in the photos is EXACTLY what you get … including that incredible view! The entertainment system in the house looked amazing, but we didn’t turn it on once because there was so much more to see and do.
THE PROCESS: This was our first experience renting through this site and it was an absolute pleasure. Imad was a consummate professional and patiently answered ALL of our questions. Once in Telchac, Ivonne was gracious and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
I would strongly recommend this property. We are dying to go back!! :)
I recently came back from spending couple of weeks in Telchac Beach @ Villa Del Faro. The rental process was nothing but a pleasure! Imad and France are two of the most polite people I ever deal with.
The Villa is located at a perfect walking distance from stores, restaurants and the main Plaza (Downtown Telchac) so you will have easy access to everything you need.
The Villa is absolutely LOVELY and WELL equipped! All you need to bring is your clothes and sunblock! If you are a cook you will find ANYTHING you need in the kitchen to make a nice meal!.
The house has two nice size bedrooms which was perfect for our family ( My parents took one bedroom and me and my 2 young kids the other one) The beds are nice and comfy and I must point they have the soften sheets!
The Villa also has hundreds of movies, a great selection not only for adults for also for kids. The TV system is amazing as well, so treat yourself to a movie night at night time, make popcorn and relax!
The Caretaker, Ivonne, was also very nice and very helpful as well as Gary (pool guy) who make sure the pool was clean and ready for us at all times!
I'm planing to return to Villa Del Faro for more amazing times!
Thank you Imad and France for letting us stay in your Villa!
