This flat is situated on a pretty, private garden square in Notting Hill Gate. It is extremely quiet because there is almost no traffic, even though it is only moments from bustling Portobello Market.

This colourful, exciting area has many pubs, restaurants and trendy cafes. You will find traditional fish & chip shops alongside a huge variety of ethnic food. If you want to update your wardrobe, you can find the latest trends on the market stalls or browse in upscale boutiques.

Take a 10 minute stroll and you will be in the middle of leafy Kensington Gardens. Kensington Palace, home to generations of British Royals, is located within the park. A quick tube ride and you will be in the West End with its theatres, restaurants and glittering shops

Hello. We live in London. Our girls go to school here. We own many flats in London and take great care in looking after our guests whilst they are here. This flat is one of our favorites and is quite unique in London.

We chose to buy this flat because it is in Notting Hill Gate which is a trendy part of London and also is know for Portobello Market.

What makes this apartment unique

This property has everything you would want in a flat. It has a lovely private balcony overlooking a private garden square for the residence who live around this square. It has a Victorian fireplace which works! The balcony faces south so the sun shines directly into the flat. The bedroom is in the back of the flat over a court below which makes it very quiet at night.

As a long-term travel agent in the US, I recently worked with the owners of this flat for a one-week stay in London for my clients. They offer several unusual amenities that make this a good fit for anyone looking for flats:

First, they have several properties to choose between, so that offers you choices to fit your clients' budget.

Second, they include a transfer from Heathrow to the flat which is always well received after an overnight flight from the U.S. Once clients have found their way around London, they can easily make their own return to the airport for their flight home at the end of the stay.

Third, the owners are very happy to assist their guests with any required information that may help them find their way around the city. They are even willing to stock groceries in advance for their guests for just the cost of the groceries to allow their guests to make the maximum use of their time in London. In 35 years in this business, this is the first time I have seen this offer. I was happy to find this option and will hope to send further clients their way! Thanks, Liz and Carl!

Terrific Hosts and Great Location

This flat was in a beautiful location. The bus stopped right near the house and we could take that or walk to the underground in just a few minutes. It is a nice, safe, quiet neighborhood with a park across the way. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful in suggesting ways to get around and places to eat etc. We only needed to contact them to arrange arrival and departure and all of our calls were answered immediately. They live right nearby so I am certain if I had any problems(which I didn't that they would be equally responsive). The apartment had everything we needed including hair dryer, iron, linens and whatever we needed in the kitchen. We never ended up cooking as we were out from morning till night each day. The double bed was quite comfortable and the sofa bed was fine for me but probably more suited to kids as it is not that big. Overall I felt it was great value for the money. The Location was wonderful and it went smoothly. I would not hesitate to rent this apartment again when I go back.

Great Location, Comfortable

Comfortable, two-flight walkup. Beds adequate, kitchen inconvenient to use, but roomy and airy. Many bus routes practically outside the door, and tube only a few blocks away. Shops and restaurants very nearby.

Great flat, great location

Our stay at the flat in Notting Hill was super. Carl was very obliging and helped us a lot.

The area is wonderful for walking, near good shopping and on a quiet street. It is everything the listing states. We enjoyed it very much. Kitchen was splendid and having the use of a computer and cell phone was very handy. We'd love to go back. We were there 8 nights and would happily have stayed longer...

St. Stephens Vacation

We’ve stayed at St. Stephens apartments for six nights in September 2012.

There were four of us- two adults and two kids. We absolutely enjoyed our stay.

The owners were promptly responding to our emails and answering all our questions. They proved to be rather flexible and easy to deal with.

Upon arrival we were greeted with bottle of wine, which we really appreciated, especially after transatlantic flight with two kids.

The apartment has met all of our expectations. It was spacious, bright, and smartly planned. The high ceilings provided additional light and air. The fireplace was very lovely (although we didn’t use it) and we enjoyed having cup of tea or glass of wine on the balcony overlooking St. Stephens gardens.

The room’s interior was simple, but stylish. The bathroom was clean and roomy with a working towel dryer. All the necessary appliances were available- from kitchenware to the dishwasher and washer and drier. We slept with open windows and enjoyed quiet nights and fresh air. (attention poor sleepers- the pillows were great!)

The neighborhood was very nice and friendly. One of the tube lines was within 5 minutes walk and another (which we used more often) within 15. The bus stop was right across the street. There were plenty of restaurants and grocery stores around with the closest one being right around the corner.

Overall, we would certainly recommend the St. Stephens apartments and we’ve already gave the owners information to couple of our friends who are considering trip to London.

St. Syephens Gardens 1 Br Apartment/Flat

This is the second apartment that we have rented from Liz and Carl of Londonrentalflats.com. Each time it has been a pleasant experience. This particular flat was exactly as the pictures. Everything worked and if we needed any assistance, help was immediately given. The location is quiet (a bonus for London) and only a short distance from scads of restaurants, shopping and the Underground (Westbourne Park). We highly recommend this property.
