This home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, 1,515 square feet and was originally built in 1902. It was completely remodeled in 2009. It was designed to maintain its old world charm while providing modern day amenities. This home is one block east of downtown Austin. It is bright and airy with ten foot ceilings throughout, vaulted ceilings in the master bedroom and many windows for natural lighting. A mere five blocks away from Austin’s famous Sixth Street entertainment district and within walking distance to fine dining, coffee houses and art galleries, it’s easy to say that this home is in a fantastic location. Did we mention that the University of Texas at Austin is a short 1.5 mile jaunt where you can enjoy all of UT’s athletic events? If you are coming to Austin for a convention, you’re in luck! This home is a short five minute walk to the convention center.

This home is located in an eclectic neighborhood. This area immediately east of downtown Austin is home to many local artists, musicians, unique establishments and renovation projects. There is a church across the street and many long time residents on the block. All the neighbors are wonderful and friendly. If you are looking for a “Leave It to Beaver” neighborhood, this may not be for you. There is a fairly steady stream of homeless people in the area. If you are noise sensitive, you should know that this house is just half a block from I35. From the master bedroom, you will hear the traffic at a low level. Bring your ear plugs if that might bother you! If you are looking for an enchanting dwelling with close proximity to everything Austin has to offer, this is definitely the place!

What a wonderful home! Clean, comfortable, and recently designed and decorated. Perfect walking distance for those who want to be downtown but also close to all the cooler restaurants and bars in East Austin. Cristina was great. She called to check in on how we were enjoying and also offered up local spots to eat at.
John and I love living in Austin, Texas. John works for the Austin Independent School District and I help people buy and sell real estate. We decided last year that our house was too fabulous to keep all to ourselves. It’s been a pleasure sharing it with the wonderful people who have come through Austin.
This area of Austin is experiencing more residential and commercial growth than any other part of the city. Located only blocks away from the genteel downtown of Austin, it had been overlooked and neglected for decades. The Victorian and early 20th century homes that filled the streets were dilapidated and close to demolition. I, along with other early real estate pioneers, saw the value in the location, charming houses and tree-lined streets and began to actively seek out properties to save. This particular property showed promise due to its clean lines and large tree covered lot. We were able to do a complete remodel and today the sunny, cheerful facade is a particularly attractive addition to a diverse neighborhood.
This home is 10 minutes from the airport and is within a mile of several quality bars and restaurants and Austin’s much acclaimed Lady Bird Lake. The convention center is a five minute walk away.
We love taking advantage of everything Austin has to offer. We chose to move to the city center from our home in the country, in order to better feel a part of the life and vibe of an urban neighborhood. Walking over to the local coffee shop for a cup of tea in the morning, riding our bikes downtown at dusk and eating Mexican food at our favorite restaurant down the street are simple pleasures that are now afforded us. Even sitting on our porch, drinking a glass of wine and watching the world go by, is one of the most enjoyable parts of our day.
This house is a true retreat from the frenetic downtown area that lies only blocks away. Once visitors leave the city center, cross the highway and drive to our street, the heartbeat of the city changes. The traffic, heat and noise downgrades to a steady hum and birds can be heard again. Sitting in the back porch swing, you can really get the best of both worlds; being part of the excitement, yet slightly removed.
The house has a spacious backyard that is very inviting. Located right off the gourmet kitchen, the pecan trees shade almost the entire property and the water fountain is a soothing addition. The open floor plan and separate master suite is perfect for small groups, as each couple is afforded their own space.
A favorite weekend event is walking on the hike and bike trail by the lake that is less than a mile away, getting off the trail just after mile marker four and going to Jo’s Coffee for breakfast. You can meander back home through downtown and make mental notes about all of the restaurants that are so close to the house. Seeing the city on foot is a whole different experience.
