Beech Cedar House was great for our skiing trip over the President's Day weekend. It's located very close to the slopes, and Ed was easy to work with, responsive and very helpful. The 2 King Master bedrooms and the 2 sitting areas were ideally laid out for our 2 families - spacious and looks recently updated. Beds were comfortable and clean, the bathrooms immaculate with good showers, and the provision of crisp white towels justified the higher cost of cleaning.
The kitchen is a good size, very well-equipped and reasonably clean. The large dining table was perfect for us all to sit down for meals. There were nice, modern appliances which all worked very well. Thank you to Ed and previous guests who left coffee filters, detergent and other little essentials!
The phone and wifi (instructions were laid out clearly) worked very well, and were essential as we all had ATT cells - completely non-existent service on Beech Mountain. Unfortunately, can't comment on the hot tub as we didn't manage to use it. None of us were familiar with the use of one, and after a long day skiing, it was a bridge too far for us to work out the extensive sheet of instructions provided.
We fully recommend Beech Cedar House for your ski holiday. The half a star is for the little touches that would have made the house excellent - eg. some towel and toilet paper holders would be nice, and some sort of storage for wet ski boots, extra mats. There is also limited parking (max 3 cars) on quite a narrow country road. Also a side note that there are a couple of steep, narrow bits to get to/from the house, so 4WD or snow chains are essential on icy snowy days on Beech Mountain.
