I have successfully owned, operated, and managed rental property for eighteen years. I am actively committed to providing honest tenants with good housing.
Larry Frandson purchased this house in 2005
The Log Home has the BEST view of Lake Mille Lacs. This property is genuinely unique in its location and in the Log construction of this home. The entire interior is wood logs and knotty pine tongue and groove wood.
Staying at the Log Home is very relaxing. Sitting on the deck overlooking the lake listening to the birds and watching the wildlife is very enjoyable. At night a fire in the fire pit or in the fireplace is a great way to wrap up the day at the Log Home.
Thank you Larry,
We had a very enjoyable time at your Log Home. You have a very beautiful house on the lake, the view was spectacular. We would love to rent out again next year. Thanks again for allowing us to stay at your home.
Have a Great Day
The house is very large, plenty of room for all 10 us who stayed this past weekend. Awesome views from the decks and lake side windows. The lower floor bar area was great, loved playing pool. The wood burning fireplaces were very nice and made that big house feel cozy. The kitchen and bathrooms are a little dated, but everything worked just fine. We would love to come back in the summer!
I wanted you to know that my family and I had a wonderful time at your home. It was comfortable, beautiful and the view spectacular! It was everything the description said it was. We enjoyed the deck, used the BBQ, played pool and other games, watched movies and even used the fire pit one night. I could not be more pleased!
A wonderful place for our girls winter getaway! Great owner and property is private, well maintained and lots of room inside! Hope to come back someday!
We stayed at the log home, a family group of 15 people ages 9 to 79.
The home was clean and ready to go when we arrived. The pictures and descriptions are accurate. The home is on a high hill overlooking Mille Lacs lake. It has a large deck the entire length of the house with plenty of seating, we had brought extra folding chairs also. The view is fantastic, we saw eagles, float planes, loons and always fishing boats, also used the propane grill. There are steps going down the steep hill to the dock in the lake. Swimming is good for older children and adults, there is no "beach" for young children . The water is very clear.
The house is very large, 3 bedrooms and bathroom up, 2 bedrooms and bath down, and large master bedroom and 2 bathrooms on main level. The dining area has 2 tables pushed together, and seating for 3 at the counter, so we could all eat together. There were plenty of plates, glasses, etc, the dishwasher came in handy. There were dish clothes and towels also. There is also an empty room on the main level you could use as another bedroom if you had an air mattress.
The lower level has a large wet bar with 6 stools and small fridge and microwave which the kids loved to play restaurant. Also 2 couches and a chair, and 2 other tables with seating, again our whole group could easily fit for nightly bingo games. The pool table also got good use.
There was plenty of parking for our 6 vehicles, also put a motorcycle and fishing boat in the garage. The garage appeared orderly, must have been straightened up since last review.
We did not fish Mille Lacs as there are many smaller fishing lakes around. If we had put in at Mille Lacs we would have used the slip at Terry's Harbor.
All bed linens were provided, you do need to bring bath towels and wash cloths, hand towels and bath soap. We also needed to get extra toilet paper for the large group.
We took advantage of the near by casino for the adults, they have a great arcade for kids. We knew someone staying there, so the kids could use their pool also. There are numerous golf courses nearby, and mini golf in Garrison. The kids also liked Paul Bunyon land near Brainerd. There is shopping in all the small towns around the area. Grocery stores are at the casino and in Garrison. For a good time take your group to bar bingo and $1.50 burger night at the VFW in Garrison (Thursday nights).
We had a great week, the place was perfect for our age range. Thanks!
What the website says:
•Wheelchair accessible. We didn’t find that true because of all the steps. The only bedroom that didn’t take steps to get to was the master.
•The lake is 70 steps away from the lower level doors = narrow winding stairs down to the lake. Which when we counted was actually 88.
•Lakefront = Rocky shore but sand and gravel 12 feet from shore. There is no actual beach or swim area. There was rickety dock to fish off.
•Linens provided are true. Be sure to check your rental agreement because towels are not provided.
•The deck is the best part of the house. It had a spectacular view of the lake. The deck was very large and enough room for all of us. You could grill and look at the lake. It was great to watch the eagles. They nested in the tree next to the house.
•The kitchen and dining room was a great space to entertain. There was enough room for all of us. At one time the most of us there was 12. People came and went all week. The kitchen did have all the things we needed to cook.
•Some of the bedrooms were small, but that was okay since we were only sleeping in them. There is a bedroom in the lower level without a window. Not sure if this is legal. Though the twenty something crowd liked it. They got to sleep in late.
•We didn’t feel like this would be a good house for kids as there really is nothing for them to do. And with all the steps there is no place to put up a baby gate. The yard area was pretty small. Not enough room to play bags. And the driveway is very, very steep. Not a place for kids to ride their bikes on.
•The garage looks like someone’s personal storage area. There were a lot of items that looked broken down and junk lying around. It was very dirty and messy. There are a lot of mouse droppings in there and didn’t feel comfortable leaving our vehicles in it. We didn’t want the mice nesting in our vehicles.
•We were unsure as to who provides the toilet paper. When I texted the owner, he never responded. The property manager said the cleaner is supposed to have it there, but there wasn’t enough.
•There was 1 window air conditioning unit in the top floor for the entire house. One of the ceiling fans in the upstairs bedroom had a blade missing. A lot of the oscillating/box fans were broken.
•There is a boat slip that comes with the rental at Terry’s Harbor just a mile down the road. The boat we rented was safe there.
We had fun even if the house wasn't what was expected.
We rented this log home as a mini-family reunion. There was plenty of room for all of us. (13 of us kids and adults). Kids loved swimming in the lake. View is AMAZING from the deck. Owner was extremely helpful. Cabin is beautiful and very private. I would recommend this rental especially if you have a larger group.
