We are located on Dewey Lake in the city of Dowagiac Michigan. We are next to Magician Lake and very close to the Sister Lakes. There are many fresh produce stands and a wine tour is just minutes away.

My family and I just spent a week in this home. It accomodated 14 adults and 7 children. You have to cross a busy street to get to the beach and this home needs some TLC.

We had a family reunion at this house this summer and it was a blast. what a great thing to get everyone together under one roof. this house was reallly pretty and the water was clear and warm. we used the fire pit every night.

our group had a great time at this place. great lake, great deck, and really nice house. this place was clean and well stocked (ie towels, dishes ect.). We loved the fire pit and the grill.

Disappointed

We were somewhat disappointed in this property. For that amount of money, you expect a higher quality. We felt the website was misleading; the house is not right on the beach. There is a road between the house & the beach, which is a problem for us, as we had several small children. The idea that it was directly on the beach/lake was one of the main reasons we rented the house. The only window in 1 bedroom didn't open at all, which is unacceptable in a summer home. The remote control didn't work; again, this may seem small, but for that amount of money, it is a reasonable expectation. My father is 81 years old & cannot be getting up & down all the time. The showers were not very good. The house was not very clean & the gazebo was completely unusable; it was covered with bugs, spiders, dirt, and webs. Of course, the house & gazebo will have some bugs/spiders, but the gazebo looks as though it had never been hosed down or cleaned. The house also has a considerable rodent problem. There was no evidence of any effort to control that. The floors are extremely flimsy, noisy, and in the mother-in-law house, the floors are completely uneven, cheap, and actually wavy.
On the positive side, the beach and firepit were great. The raft was useless, because it was absolutely covered in goose droppings.
This is just not worth the money.

Rubi Property-a LARGE house

We are a group of 17 extended family members ages 2 to 67. We have been vacationing together for 4 years.
We found this house to be very spacious with an open floor plan in the main area- and we liked this.
We did all our own cooking and the house easily accomidated this. There was a shortage of large bowls, but plenty of pots and pans.
When we opened the house it smelled really clean. We found this to be true, except when we pulled back the curtains the windows were full of spider webs. Being a wooded property this can be a problem, but the cleaning service had not attempted to remove them from the windows.I addressed this with the owner and am confidant
this will be taken care of.
If you are a family that needs a LOT of activity within minutes this may not be the location for you. Activities can be found 25 to 30 minutes away.
The lake was very nice- we took a boat and 2 jet skis with us and totally enjoyed them.
8 of us are golfers and enjoyed inexpensive golf 12 minutes away.
We are going to reserve this house for next summer.
It was wonderful for us!
