Located just 8 miles from St. George, each summer enjoy Tuahcan Center for the Arts, live musical spectacular, world-class entertainment in the Snow Canyon State Park. This outdoor amphitheater has 2,000 seats & 1500 foot sandstone cliffs as a back-drop. Also enjoy St. George Musical Theater with dazzling live song and dance productions. In nearby Cedar City enjoy Utah Shakespeare Festival. Shakespeare & contemporary productions at this acclaimed regional theatre June thru October. Also in Cedar City, the Utah Neil Simon Festival (Mid July thru mid-August) offers Tony Award-winning plays.
Exploring and Entertainment: Everywhere you go in St. George see the outstanding & unusual multicolor rock formations & majestic mountains. Easy day trips take you to these colorful destinations. Lake Powell: 160 miles, 2 hr. 30 min. Zion Canyon National Park (main): 43 miles, 45 min. Kolob Canyon section of Zion Nat'l Park: 27 miles, 45 min. North Rim Grand Canyon: 154 miles, 2 hr. 45 min. Cedar Breaks National Park: 78 miles, 1 hr. 30 min. Brianhead Ski Resort: 84 miles, 1 hr. 30 min. Bryce Canyon National Park: 132 miles, 2 hr. 30 min. Las Vegas: 1 1/2 Hr.
Ski: In the winter, Brian Head transforms into one of Utah's great ski resorts, with excellent powder and runs! It is located at a high elevation where deep snow falls throughout the winter. Snowmobiling is popular in this area. Summer activities run from late May thru mid Oct. Utah mountain biking at Brian Head resort's flat tire festival. Navajo Lake is on Cedar Mountain about 22 miles east of Cedar City via Hwy. 14. Stop at the Zion Overlook; hike the Bristlecone Pine Trail (1/2 mile) or Cascade Falls (1 mile); mountain bike the Navajo Lake Loop trail (12 miles); fish, Duck Creek and Aspen Mirror Lake; and explore Mammoth Cave. Cedar Breaks National Monument: An amazing concentration of limestone formations created by uplift and erosion in a three-mile wide amphitheatre setting.
