Good times at Happy Hours

Our family stayed at Happy Hours for two weeks and the house fit our needs exceedingly well. We have a three kids, including a baby, and Van and Tammy (the on-island hosts/managers) were helpful in sourcing a high chair and crib for us to use during our stay. The house and the grounds are definitely "as-advertised": clean, new and well-maintained. The ocean makes for a spectacular backdrop and view, but know that you'll not likely be doing much swimming or snorkeling here,or anywhere on the south shore of CB, for that matter. The beach consists of large stones and there's little sea life. Also, the beach is sadly cluttered with debris and garbage from Jamaica and Haiti. This is not the owners' fault, as this is ubiquitous on the entire length of the south shore, but it is certainly a blemish on an otherwise idyllic setting. The pool is absolutely wonderful. The depths are kid-friendly and it's well-maintained. We used it many times a day, especially when we were housebound while our baby was napping. Make sure that you rent a car as there are no amenities within a couple of miles (all of the services on CB are along the north shore of the island). We had no issues or problems of real significance during our stay at Happy Hours: the barbecue grill needs replacing because it is broken down and we never did determine whether we were responsible for consumables like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and the like (we ended up buying these ourselves). The dishwasher works poorly, but this is essentially because of the low water pressure on the island.
Overall, we were extremely pleased with Happy Hours and would recommend it without hesitation. The value quotient is high, as well.
