Oceanfront trail approximately 1/3 mile from Grand Champions. A number of Wailea beaches can be accessed from the trail, although we recommend taking the 2 minute drive to the closest beach, Ulua, as the return to Grand Champions is uphill. And, once in your car, (perhaps with beach chairs, umbrella, towels, cooler, etc.) there are many beaches available to you within a 5 minute drive. Try a different one every day or return to your favorite, perhaps one with not a building in site, again and again.

Retired from medical career and got younger in Maui. Love the active lifestyle, mostly centered around ocean activities. Have had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the traditional Hawaiian outrigger canoe community, spending many sunrises on the ocean with the whales or turtles. We love sharing all we have learned about this amazing island and culture.
Weather, privacy, lush landscaping, open space, no cement high rise buildings, wide boulevards, spectacular coastline, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES, close to the 'end of the road'. Close to nearby Kihei, but a world apart in beauty, space and quiet Yet, easy access to all this fabulous island has to offer.
The lush tropical landscaping is reminiscent of the greenery enjoyed by staying on the North (rainy) side of the island, but we have more sunshine than almost anywhere on Maui. This complex, with it's individual buildings, rather than high rise cement structures, scattered around 12 acres and, as you can see on the google map, away from all road noise, offers a real feel of being at home in a beautiful tropical oasis with Maui's best beaches just a few minutes away.
And the location of this unit we found to be quiet and private away from the golf course, pool and parking lot.
We had a horrible delay in our flight...18 hours....so when we arrived, it was so easy to get to your place and relax. Great amenities...rice cooker was a plus for us.

We loved being able to walk down to the Wailea Shops, and loved being able to walk through the grounds of the Grand Wailea and to the beach. Beautiful views and perfect apartment!
We are still here actually, and wondering if we should just go ahead and book for 2015's vacation...it's that awesome here. Half an hour to 45 minutes to the airport, a bit less for Costco, 10 minutes or less to Kihei, a minute or two off the highway...the location cannot be beat. And this unit is QUIET. Perfect for those who need R&R (that would be us right now). Fantastic WiFi, and free calls to the mainland are much appreciated, as were the washer and dryer.
Gail has been absolutely wonderful during the bit of chaos that Hurricane Ana created (and never really delivered, but who knew?). She was great with sending us emails about what to do in certain instances with a hurricane, and even swung by one day to make sure all was well, and that we didn't need anything. We didn't, by the way...the apartment has emergency flashlights and candles and whatnot in case the power goes out. Which it didn't, even in the thunderstorm last night.
We have stayed in many VRBOs and this, by far, is the best equipped one we've had. The kitchen is fully stocked, and there was even a cupboard with everything from salt and pepper to balsamic vinegar and EVOO. Lots of linens, pots and pan, dishware, wine glasses....Saran Wrap....seriously, we lacked nothing in the basics. A stop at Costco for food was all we needed. The ONLY thing I can think that would be of benefit is one of those brooms that have a foam side. The bamboo floors are spectacular and a regular broom isn't as good to keep them swept up. But not a big deal, I suppose.
The beachware is of unbelievable good quality. Chairs, umbrella, coolers, towels... even some aloe vera in the medicine cabinet.
The bed is extremely comfy, we slept like logs every night. And sipping that morning coffee on the seems-like-it's-totally private lanai, surrounded by trees and flowers, is something we are going to miss. A lot.

We enjoyed your secret garden 1 bedroom unit. The ammenities were great amd the balcony view beautiful! Quiet and peaceful. Nice for a getaway or a vacation suite for visitors.
The Secret Garden condo is absolutely beautiful! We loved the peaceful, quiet garden setting, and found that the unit is spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished with timeless, yet modern, decor. The king-sized bed with high end linens and the completely equipped kitchen made for a most pleasant and comfortable stay. The lanai overlooks the most gorgeous scene of tropical flowering trees and plants that we lingered over breakfast each day, just drinking in the beauty. The apartment was perfect, and I would not change a thing- especially the furnishings and decor. Tasteful and certainly up-to-date.
We appreciated the many amenities of the unit, including the beach chairs, cooler, and beach towels.
Gail was a wonderful hostess, sharing much information about the property and the area both before and during our stay. She had suggestions for many wonderful and unique experiences that the tour books do not include. She was thoughtful and helpful and we are thrilled with our choice of location and property rental. Mahalo for an amazing stay!
We enjoyed our stay. It is close to Kihei. It was quiet and the condo was clean. Some of the furnishings could be updated, but it was a nice condo. I would only recommend washing the sheets without a strong scented fragrance detergent. It was very strong and made it difficult to sleep. The owners communicated everything to us and we found the condo easily, and they had all the condo information readily available. Everything went smoothly and was an easy transaction.
We very much enjoyed our 1 month stay in this beautiful condo. It is spacious, well appointed and in a peaceful and tranquil location. When we made a couple of requests to the owner, she responded quickly and satisfactorily. For us, it was in walking distance to the shops at Wailea and walk-ways and paths by the beaches, but one needed to take a car to carry chairs etc. to stay on the beach. We loved exploring the many beaches around Wailea and although it was high season we could always find a parking spot at one or the other. The owner provided a lot of information and good tips for restaurants, activities etc. on Maui and we found this very useful. There are good restaurants for lunch and/or dinner within walking distance of the condo and many places in Kihei just a few minutes away by car. For grocery shopping, Costco is about 20 mins. by car but there are other supermarkets in Kihei although more expensive.
Nearby access to the beautiful Wailea Oceanfront Trail. Secluded away from all busy roads. Walking distance to all of Wailea's Five Star hotel properties.
Try a morning of traditional Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe paddling on Tues or Thurs morning in north Kihei. An experience of a lifetime. Ask me.
