About Jane Livingston - Owner

I consider myself to be very blessed and fortunate to live in a country where we can enjoy our freedoms. I am a lucky mom to a wonderful teenage son. I find the world and people fascinating and relish the time I can spend traveling and exploring.. I love to travel, experience the world and spend time outdoors.

Jane Livingston - Owner purchased this house in 2011

Why Jane Livingston - Owner chose Estes Park

I worked at the YMCA of the Rockies one summer while in college and I almost stayed rather than going back to college. I think Rocky Mountain National Park has some of the best hiking in the world. I love being by the water and soaking up the outdoors while listening to the soothing sounds of the river and taking in the spectacular rocky mountains. The energy around our home and along the river is awesome and being so close to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park is wonderful.

What makes this house unique

We are 1.5 miles to Rocky Mountain National Park and less than that to a grocery store and shopping. Relax by the river while reading a good book and being mesmerized by the spectacular beauty of the mountains and the sounds of the river. Sit on the river patio while fishing to your heart's content. Soak in the hot tub after hiking or snowshoeing while watching and listening to the river. Enjoy a soothing, peaceful steam shower anytime you desire. Relax with your morning cup of coffee on the patio taking in all the beauty. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck as the sun sets behind the mountains while cooking those fresh caught fish on the grill.

Great Home and Location

  • 5 of 5

I had a large group that included two small children staying in the home. We loved the location, amount of space, and amenities. The children enjoyed being able to run around indoors (it was winter and cold) and we appreciated being so close to both downtown Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park. The home is setup very well for families with children as the back bedroom has bunk beds and a small living room area with toys and games. The kitchen was very well stocked and even had two coffee makers. I've stayed at many vacation homes and this one was by far the best!

Dancing Bears Delighted Everyone

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at a fairly slow time of the season and a debated on which location to stay. I am so glad we chose Dancing Bears! It was perfect! It felt secluded but, was close to town. We were celebrating 50th birthdays for 2 in our group and had a wonderful time enjoying music, pool, ping pong and board games. Mostly we just enjoyed the great room table talking, reminiscing and enjoying company. The setup is great with one big room and bedrooms at the opposite so early risers aren't disturbed by noise. We tend to spend a lot of time in the kitchen when we vacation and I was worried it wouldn't be 'open enough'. It was fine, it was the center of the home and the pass through for conversations and hugs. Location was great too...I came in from Chicago, another from Seattle and a couple relative came from Ft. Collins, Boulder and Longmont for 1 or 2 of the nites. It made a perfect place for locals to come up to say hi and not take a lot of time off work and for us on vacation, we enjoyed the week. I can't wait to go back in the summer and enjoy more of the river (it was frozen when we were there).

Our Family Reunion Shangri-La

  • 5 of 5

Our family of nine adults came from various parts of the U.S. to our favorite Estes Park. It was the first time we all have been under one roof and in a rental home. I can't begin to say how much we ALL enjoyed it! We absolutely loved how close it was to the Big Thompson River and spent some wonderful time on the porch visiting and enjoying the amazing wildlife. We weren't prepared for the abundance of supplies that were there in the kitchen and were quite pleasantly surprised since we brought a lot of our own. We appreciated having such a nice washer & dryer so that we were able to wash the bedding when one daughter & partner left and the other & her husband arrived. The beautiful long table in the Great Room allowed us to have some of our dinners & nightly evening conversations comfortably inside after dark. In addition, we appreciated how nice and clean the entire place was. My sister in law said she would use her dishwasher at home if it were as quiet as yours. :) This year we were celebrating her & my brother's landmark birthdays. She turned 60 & he 70 this past summer. No one wanted to leave!! But our time together came to an end and we all parted and returned home with wonderful memories. Thank you for making your home such a lovely place to vacation for so many vacationers.

A Winner!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Estes Park for our family vacation. I had no idea where the property was actually located except that it was on the Big Thompson River. We found the location to be excellent. It felt so secluded and from the house you couldn't see anything but the river, beautiful trees, a meadow full of elk and mountains in RMNP. However, everything the town had to offer was minutes away! The home was so big and comfortable with everything we needed for a delightful stay. The backyard area had steps down to the river with two benches at the river's edge. The elk may not always be in the same place but one day there were about 30 across the river. Amazing! I know I always worry that a property that I want to rent may not be as nice as it sounds. Let me tell you with utmost sincerity, that this property is as wonderful as it sounds. Do not hesitate to go for it!! You will have a very memorable time in a wonderful home in a delightful area of Colorado!

Great for large family gatherings!

  • 5 of 5

Great for our large group and family reunion get together! Plenty of open, common spaces and yet, areas for quiet and relaxing indoors and outdoors overlooking the river. The outdoor spaces (deck, patio, riverside patio) were especially nice to enjoy the wildlife and sounds of the river! Close to town but feels like you're in a remote mountain location. Nice perks were the hot tub, Xbox game setup, and ping pong/air hockey/pool table for kids big and small!
