Live in Charlotte, NC about an hour and a half away from Lake Lure and try to get there every chance I get and make sure everything is well maintained for my guests and my family.
Wayne purchased this cabin in 2007
The very first time I was in Lake Lure I purchased this cabin. It was so lovely I just happened into a realtors office and that was that. One of the best things I ever did.
You will find this cabin to be more like staying at a friends home than a rental. Because I stay here every chance I get it is well thought out and very well stocked and comfortable with attention to detail.
Yes, sadly this is our last day here. We have loved your cabin. My wife and I have rented places such as this all over the South Eastern and South Western U.S. and we firmly believe that your cabin is the best we have rented. In terms of provisions, it is superb. No one has provided as much as you have.
Thanks very much for making your cabin available, we have had a very enjoyable time.
Everything was great at the cabin! We had a wonderful time and hope to come back often. The extras you've added since our last visit in 2005 were really nice. Our visitors were very impressed and hope they have a chance to stay there in the future. Thank you for providing such a fantastic place with reasonable rates for a truly wonderful family vacation!
We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. It was very spacious and beautiful. We loved the view from the back porch. We've stayed in North Carolina 3 times now in 3 different cabins and this one was the first one we've had with a spectacular view. We also loved having the front yard level and that the cabin was easy to get to, which we had run into problems with the last cabin that we rented. Our 2 dogs loved running around the porch and running through the leaves at the bottom of the back yard. The stairs getting to the backyard are a little treacherous at first, but within a day or two the dogs were running up and down them as well. The back yard was very steep for me a first, but I also got used to it. We love the area and there is plenty to do. Highly suggest going to Biltmore Estates for their Candlelight Christmas and driving to Bryson City to ride the Smokey Mountain Railroad and Grandfather Mountain is fun too. Thanks so much for letting us and our beagles stay at your cabin.
We stayed at the cabin for a week and were not disappointed! It was our first vacation in years and we were a bit apprehensive about renting online, but on our arrival we breathed a huge sigh of relief! The cabin was exactly what we had hoped and exactly what we needed! It is a beautiful space with amazing views. The website was completely accurate in describing the home, amenities and area. We grilled most of our meals on the deck while taking in the view. Though we cooked at home for the most part, there were many restaurants in the area to choose from (in all price ranges) and so many things to do! Definitely a nature lovers paradise! We would definitely come back! The cabin is great for short or long stays. Thanks for entrusting my husband and I, and our dogs with your beautiful cabin!
We really enjoyed our honeymoon getaway, the cabin was beautiful and very well equipped with everything we needed. We loved the fact that we were able to bring our two dogs with us. The peace and quiet was great, the views are beautiful, we had a great time and being close to everything, we look forward to returning in the future and we will share our experience there with people that we know. The backyard worked well for our dogs, but was a little to steep for my wife but we loved the porches. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.
great view very comfortable all the little things were there plenty of things to do awesome
Wayne's cabin was quite lovely. It was clean, comfortable both sitting in the living area and sleeping. I honestly don't give high points when it comes to sleeping, but the king bed was super comfortable and my back never bothered me. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with dishes, pots & pans and gadgets. Not that you WANT to do a lot of cooking on vacation since there are many things to do in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our trek up to Chimney Rock and over to the Hickory Nut Falls and our trip to the Biltmore on the edge of Asheville, which is a nice 35-40 min drive from the cabin. The beach and water were quite clean and we enjoyed a lovely summer day there. We also rented a boat and took it out for a spin around the lake. This was a wonderful family vacation which have given us great memories for years to come. My teenage daughter commented as we drove through Chimney Rock the evening of our arrival "Oh, great, Mom. All my friends get to go to FL and the beach and you bring me to the NC mountains." Well, her tune sure changed by the time we departed. She said it was one of the best vacations we've taken! And, we were able to have our "furry" children with us! Thank you, Wayne, for letting responsible pet owners enjoy vacation WITH their pets. We'll definitely come back! P.S. My favorite moments were sitting out on the deck in the mornings reading my book, listening to the birds and drinking my coffee while gazing at the stupendous view of the mountains. My wish is to be able to see that view in the Fall and even in the Winter. So peaceful - and oh, so powerful!
