This villa was completed in December of 2009 and has all of the amenities that make it a perfect paradise vacation residence. Its sophisticated design is unequaled on the island. It includes a contemporary style kitchen unlike any on Caye Caulker and the owners have left nothing out. Everything along with the art deco details of the rest of the house is truly a chance of a lifetime to enjoy. The view from almost any spot in the house is just plain perfect but the veranda is priceless. The turquoise Caribbean views are ever changing and can mesmerize you as you sit with your favorite beverage and enjoy the changing scene. From the sunrise peeping over the Caribbean and your morning coffee to the water taxi's going back and forth to the afternoon and the fishing boats coming in, then the pink and blue clouds of sunset arrive. It's spectacular.

The house offers the second floor villa with 2 bedrooms(1 king and 1 queen) and 2 baths and the detached apartment offers a complete living area and the third bedroom. This bedroom has a king size bed and it has a living room/dining area/ complete kitchen and a huge ground floor veranda with a hammock, table and chairs. There is a laundry room and a private lap pool on the second floor.

And if you love to fish, you can often catch bone fish right off the dock or if Captain Bill is on the island talk him into a fishing or snorkeling trip or an adventure of your dreams.

I purchased this property in the late 80's intending to one day build and use it as a retirement home. Just last year it was completely remodeled from a little home on stilts to a very livable house. With all the comforts and amenities. The location is the key to the true beauty of the property as the afternoon breezes off the Caribbean fill the house and make almost every evening one to remember.

The upper house is as advertised. Very nicely done, full kitchen, large television in main living area. The beds are good, but the pillows were horribly uncomfortable. The couches and chairs in the living room were comfortable, but we're dirty and smelled like sweat. The top floor patio is great, with sweeping views. The pool was a nice addition and was warmed during the day. The barbecue is very old, and could not heat up enough to cook anything, so don't plan on using that. The downstairs apartment is of a much less quality than the top floor. We only used it for sleeping. One very important piece of information that would have been nice to know, is that the house is the owners' primary residence. This is not a true vacation rental. When we were there, we had minimal privacy. The owners sat on the back of their boat and faced us the entire stay. Supposedly we were supposed to have a private dock, but with the owners eating, sleeping, and living right there it's not too private. Also, we were strongly encouraged multiple times to not use the airconditioning. Unfortunately we were also told not to leave the windows open at night when sleeping due to safety issues. So the only option for comfortable sleep was to use the a/c. This listing should not include a/c if the owner begrudges the renters for using it. Also the owners were constantly walking in and out of the lower portion of the home which further decreased the feeling that we were renting a place that would give us privacy. Finally, the check out process was disappointing as we were told that we had to be out by noon for the "cleaning crew" despite our flight out leaving at 2:30. Anyone who has been to Belize knows that times are flexible, especially when it means your renters will be left at the airport sweltering. We were told "you can leave your bags outside and walk to town while you wait. I have had better check out service at a holiday inn. For the price they are charging, you would do much better to rent a room at one of the ocean front hotels/condos.
Owner's Response: These guests were informed that we had had a near death medical emergency and were unable to go cruising as planned and would be staying on the boat at the end of the dock. I had been in a diabetic coma and would need medical care daily. Parts of the 2 bedroom, 2 bath boat face shore but we had no desire to stare at them or bother them in any way. Any other problems that they had, like pillows could have been solved so easily just by mentioning it to us. We have lots of pillows and I'm sure we could have switched. We want every person who stays there to have the best time ever and we tried not to have our medical emergency bother their holiday.

This is the most luxurious home on the island. WE LOVED it here. Lenny & Bill were fantastic, even arranging for fresh lobster tails to be delivered to our door. The house was very comfortable with aircon and good beds, the large kitchen was beautifully equipped. The pool was fantastic staying remarkably cool in the very hot weather plus you have your own private dock from which you can jump straight into the sea. Ben dived the Blue Hole which he thought was unbelievable. We loved the laid back life on Caye Caulker and hope to return one day.

You Must Stay Here if Visiting Caye Caulker

We ( 6 thirty somethings) rented the entire house (the villa and banana cabana) in April 2011. It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The banana cabana (downstairs house) is a comfy, fully equipped home. It is has a nice island theme and living room, bedroom and bath, and full kitchen. Also an outside, covered porch with hammocks. The Villa (upstairs house) is an open, modern floorplan with full kitchen, two great bedrooms (a wonderful master), two baths, open dining room, and laundry. The whole upstairs opens up to the upper patio, which is to die for. A hammock, tables and chairs, an ocean breeze, and best of all, a perfect lap pool. It is open and airy, but has cold AC if you need it, which we didn't. The location is perfect. Just one minute, by bike, from "downtown" shops, restaraunts, and bars. It is beacfront, has a great dock for fishing or swimming, and a great yard around. Kim, the property manager, was super helpful and friendly...he even had bikes waiting for us when we got there. We had a great time, and ARE going back to the same house next April.

One of the most unique and beautiful places we have ever stayed!

We stayed at this wonderful place two years before this property was remodeled, and it was amazing even then. The location couldn't be more perfect, just off the beaten path, if there is such a thing on Caye Caulker, and right on the water. If you were any closer to the water you would have to be floating! Facing east, it allows for breathtaking sunrises over the gulf, truly a signt to be seen. Since the island is so small, everything is within a short stroll. Our trip to Caye Caulker was the best vacation we have ever taken and our stay at this unique and beautiful property was a big part of the experience. We couldn't recommend it higher!
