Wonderful 3BR 2BA Beachfront Cottage

Enjoy the magnificent sunsets overlooking Lake Michigan in a cozy setting among the trees and dunes! This cottage has been recently updated and offers privacy and miles of beach walking, hiking in the woods, mountain biking or road cycling.

The cottage is a split-level home with the master bedroom, full bath, family room, kitchen and dining area on the upper floor. There is a wonderful screened in porch off the master bedroom with table and chairs (for dining or game and card playing) and a comfortable futon for sleeping. Master bedroom has a king bed. Downstairs is a full bath, a bedroom with two twin beds, and another bedroom with a bunk bed that is a full size bed on the bottom and a twin on the top (perfect for a couple or three children). Carpeting in master bedroom and downstairs is new in 2010 .There is a garage to store bicycles.


Amenities:
Kitchen is recently renovated with granite countertops, new dishwasher, stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot and coffee grinder. Kitchen is open to family living area. There is a picnic table on the deck for eating outside, as well as a charcoal grill. Washer and dryer are on the lower level. The cottage is fully stocked with linens, towels and dishes. Renters supply paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) There is a television with VCR and DVD players and library of movies. No cable or satellite. There are some beach toys as well as lounge chairs.

Cottage also comes with supplies if you have small children (ie. a pack-n-play, baby gate for stairs, and a feeding chair that clips onto dining table).

We have two children, so there are also various toys and games to play.


Activities:
This area boasts the best of swimming, beach walking, dune climbing (there is a substantial dune just across the street that offers spectacular views of the lake and woods), hiking in the woods, mountain biking or road bicycling, antiquing, golfing at any of the numerous well-acclaimed golf courses, shopping, or dining in any of the famous local restaurants. Besides swimming in the lake, kayaking is fun to do and there are places to rent kayaks in Harbor Springs or Petoskey. Halfway between Harbor Springs and Mackinaw City, it is easy to do day trips to Mackinac Island (the only place where no motor vehicles are allowed), Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point or the Soo Locks in the Upper Peninsula.

This cottage is conveniently located next door to Great Rentals listing number 2969 and makes a wonderful two house combination for multiple family gatherings or celebrations if planned for in advance.

If you'd like to roam a pretty, rustic beach, collect unusual rocks, watch incedible sunsets, be rocked to sleep by the sound of the waves, this is the place for you and your family. There is privacy, ample room, in this well kept, cottage right on Lake Michigan. The layout of the cottage is very conducive to enjoying the beachfront as much as possible. I loved listening to the rain and sleeping in on the sunporch on a very comfortable futon. Hummingbirds travel back and forth from feeder to feeder on the deck and the scent of pine is pure aromatherapy. You can tell a lot of love went in to making this cottage so comfortable and aligned with the landscape.

Vacation Paradise on Lake Michigan

This was our 3rd summer renting and plan on continuing the tradition. Beautiful in every way from the lake to the layout of the cottage itself and the many amenities available outdoors to enjoy your stay. The cottage is exactly as described - loaded with all you need. The location is central to easy day trips to Mackinac, Harbor Springs, and Petoskey and the biking in the area is wonderful. If you are looking for a place to kick-back, relax, and enjoy your family in wonderful surrounds, this is it!!

Wonderful Cottage on the Lake

We have rented a few cottages but this one is the best! This is the nicest place to stay. Gina and the caretaker were very helpful. It is a clean, well-loved cabin in the woods. Unlike other cabins in the area, this cabin has trees that allow for privacy from the neighbors. The cottage has all of your needs nested in the trees. The upstairs master bedroom was perfect for me and my children because it has a wonderful sunroom attached. My two young boys were able to sleep in privacy right next to us in a very comfortable futon. The sound of the waves at night would put us all to sleep. The view from the kitchen and livingroom was spectacular.

We were able to push the downstairs twin beds together to make it a nice double bed for our Aunt and Uncle. Everyone was comfortable and happy!

We visited Mac City and St. Ignace but mostly stayed home and enjoyed the beach. We look forward to next year!
