Location!Location!Location!! - This home is just a half block from the magnificent Gulf of Mexico beach, seven unbroken miles of white sand beach! Historic Pass-a-grille is the narrow (just 1 block wide) southern end of St. Pete Beach, a barrier island at Tampa Bay. There are no large streets to cross ....the beach is just three houses down our short block. And, the intercoastal waterway is just two houses away at the other end of our block. Location!Location!Location! Accommodations: Six Bedrooms, 4.25 Bathrooms, three Kitchens, 4 Living Rooms and Sun rooms, several Decks, and a two story Children's play house and jungle gym. 10 Beds: 1 King, 4 Queen, 2 Double, 1 Single, 1 Queen pull-out couch, 1 Double Futon. Sleeps 19 in beds and, in a pinch, a few more on cots/couches. This property is on a double lot. The House with Master Suite over one wing are on one lot and the detached Cottage is on the second lot.
A six foot high wooden fence and thick tropical vegetation give a great deal of privacy. The House: 1. This two story home has a larger bedroom with a king sized bed, a single bed and a balcony over the garden, 2. another large upstairs bedroom with two double beds, 3. a downstairs bedroom with a queen sized bed, 4. a second downstairs bedroom with a queen sized bed, 5. upstairs and downstairs full bathrooms,(and a 1.25 in the attached Master Suite/Apartment) 6. a large living room, 7. a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast table and kitchen deck, 8. a sun room off the main deck, 9. and a dining room. Our home comfortably sleeps 11 in the bedrooms, and possibly several more on living room and sun room couches and cots. The Master Suite: The Master Suite is located on the second story over a wing of the house and connects to the house by a hallway and door. It has a separate private entrance via stairs from within the compound.
The Master Suite has a bathroom with a large tiled shower, a large dressing area with a second sink/mirror, a kitchen, living room area, and a bedroom. Sliding glass doors along the entire west exposure, facing the garden, and large windows along the entire east exposure fill the apartment with light. Our Master Suite comfortably sleeps four to six with one bedroom (queen sized bed) and a pull-out couch bed (double). Possibly 2 more guests could be accommodated with cots. The Cottage: Our cottage is a very large studio/efficiency. There is a large room with a cathedral ceiling and a separate bathroom with shower. The large room has a sleeping area, dining/sun room area, and a kitchenette. The queen sized bed and queen sized fold-out couch will sleep four. Additional cots could accommodate a larger family. The cottage can comfortably sleep up to six persons. Light fills the cottage from a wall of windows to the east (opening to the Jacuzzi-Spa), a skylight, and other windows.
Ski: The Master Suite and cottage are entered from within the compound entered through a locked gate. The Master Suite connects to the House via a hallway and locked door. We have private parking for several cars - a Must at the Beach!!! You do not need a car. Enjoy the ambiance, privacy, and economy of a private home with hotel amenities close at hand! The Tampa International Airport is just 30 minutes away and the airport limo will drop you at our door. Great seafood restaurants, a large deli, and a marina are within two blocks. The historic Eighth Avenue Pass-a-Grille shopping district, fishing, and restaurants are a 15 minute walk south on the beach, and the beautiful Don Cesar Hotel and Beach Resort is a 15 minute walk north on the beach. Boats to Shell Island and Egmont Key, deep sea fishing, dolphin and sunset tours are just a 15 minute walk away at the Merry Pier. The Tourist Trolley stops a block away, giving easy access to all of St.
Golf: The cottage is hidden in foliage....a jungle of tropical plants! With a cathedral ceiling, the warm glow of varnished pine paneling, 'heart of pine' wood floors, and a few oriental rugs, this is a very private and cozy place to stay. The House, Master Suite and Cottage are fully furnished and each has cable TV. Central air and heat are in the main house and apartment and there is a wall unit in the cottage. There are numerous indoor ceiling fans and there are outdoor overhead fans on the main deck. All linens are provided and we have a laundry room with two large washers and dryer. The three kitchens are fully equipped and have microwaves, toasters and coffeemakers. Local managers, Rosemary and John Quinlan, live nearby for advice and assistance (St. Pete Beach, Florida). See their phone number and email link below. Entry to the house is from the front door on the street or from within the walled compound.
Guest Book: Pete, Treasure Island, Madeira, Redington Shores, and Clearwater Beaches. Tours pickup at the Don Cesar Hotel for all major Tampa Bay and central Florida theme parks and attractions. The world famous Fort DeSoto National Park - always rated among the 'Top Ten' Beaches in America - is immediately to the south of our island. We have a two story tree house and jungle gym for children to enjoy. The Mountcastles are working overseas with their five children, five to eleven years old. This property is child friendly. Families are welcome!! Our idea of a great day starts with a 15 minute walk down the beach or down the seawall on the intercoastal waterway (Pass-a-Grille is only one block wide!) to the quaint Seahorse Restaurant for breakfast... morning paper, seagulls screaming, and salt air - cannot be beat!! A lazy day on the beach is always a delight. A soak in the hot tub and an afternoon nap in the shade in your own tropical garden is truly relaxing.
