Further details for this vacation house rental in Antigua, Guatemala

Set amid three magnificent volcanoes - Agua, Fuego and Acatenango - its superb yet sturdy colonial buildings have weathered 16 earthquakes and numerous floods and fires. Antigua is especially beautiful during Semana Santa, when the streets are carpeted with elaborate decorations of colored sawdust and flower petals. The city's churches have lost much of their Baroque splendor, the post-earthquake repair and restoration leaving them denuded of embellishment and elegance. However, many remain impressive, in particular La Merced, Iglesia de San Francisco and Las Capuchinas (now a museum). Casa K'ojom is a fascinating museum of Mayan music and ceremonies and related artifacts. On Sundays, visitors and locals alike gather to assess the goods for sale at the bustling market held in Parque Central. 50% deposit required at time of booking, remaining balance due 45 days prior to arrival. Cancellations made 45 days prior to check in receive full refund less $150.

We stayed at the Candelaria Suites from April 12st to May 1st, 2006 and had a great stay. The house and the complex it is located in is beautiful. It is within walking distance of everything in Antigua. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who wants a comfortable "home" kind of stay while on vacation. The house is well taken care of and clean.

Actually, the easiest way is to say this is that Toni and I are property managers. Antigua is fabulous and Andres is a delight [He and his friends stopped to say hello].

If you are hesitant, email me for details. Curt

In late summer 2004 we stayed in this lovely apartament. A great expereince! But best of all was the trip to antigua it's self. The Spanish Colonial architecture spread throught this cosmopolitan city was simply breath taking. Quite affordable too. The mezo sounds of both castillian spanish & (quiche') the local idian lenguage adds a great touch of culture to this former capital of this former spanish colony. Antigua is also one of the safest cities for tourists in Central America. Most of the stores & restaurants we went to had an english or german speaking staff. Antigua is without a doubt the most undiscovered tourist destination in Aatin America.

Me and my family visited Antigua last summer and it has been the most wonderful experience so far in all my years of traveling. My famiy and I try to visit a new place around the world each year and in 2003 we chose Guatemala. You will be impressed with the accomodations, you will feel like if you are a local. The house is neat and decorated "Guatemalan" style. The house is big enough for 7 people although it was only 5 of us. All the ammenities made it even more convenient since we got to go to the market and cooked new "Guatemalan Recipes". We had a blast! I reccomend this house 100% - it will be a phenomenal Central American experience! :)
Thank you to the landlords for giving us the opportunity to experince Guatemala in an exquisite way. We'll be back soon!
