We stayed here for a week and, overall, it was positive. Pat and the staff we dealt with at Ali'i Resorts were wonderful. The location is as described - steps away from an incredible beach and close to shops, restaurants, etc. The unit was clean but the pictures do make it higher end than it actually is. A few of the linens and furnishings are not as pictured. It was great to have all of the conveniences of home and the complex was fairly quiet (aside from some road noise, Kihei is a pretty busy spot). The lanai was wonderful, and even the partial ocean view was breathtaking. Also, we usually had the pool to ourselves when we wanted it. There are a couple things to keep in mind about this suite. First, it has very hard tile throughout. This is great for sweeping up the sand that will inevitably be tracked in but it was not ideal for our incredibly active infant. Second, and we should have realized this from the pictures, there are only showers and no bathtub. Finally, there is a small green space right outside the master bedroom and the birds will probably wake you up. This was fine for us because we're up with the kids anyway, but not ideal for night people. Locally, we enjoyed eating at the Kihei Caffe. Surprisingly, Denny's actually has the best loco moco. Get them to do it with the fried rice!
