COZY RETREAT-ON THE WATER, AMAZING VIEWS, GREAT BEACH!

Coupeville House Rental Photos and Description

Beach Home...2BRM and a Murphy 3rd BRM, 2 full baths plus half bath

Relax and enjoy the beach, winter storms and spectacular views (Olympic Mountains, the Keystone ferry making it's way across the Sound) from the deck of our spectacular 2275 sqft contemporary beachfront home. This home is 40 feet from the ocean at high tide on Admiralty Bay and is surrounded by 1600 acres of State and Federal protected nature preserves. Total solitude.

This ' NO SMOKING' home is perfectly suited for 2 or 3 couples, or a family with kids AND dogs. The two bedroom suites each feature a queen size bed. The home also has a queen size Murphy bed. WiFi & Satellite TV. The living room/dining room, and kitchen covers the full width of the house with very large windows and sliding glass doors to the deck for maximum views of the beach and water. The kitchen features everything a gourmet cook could want plus there are two outdoor barbecue areas (one with a fire pit overlooking the water). Our home is heated by 2 gas fireplaces and electric heat in bedrooms. Recent full bathroom addition (2012) with tiled accessible shower, including bench and grab bar. New carpet installed throughout house in 2013.

Snapshot: Our home is located in the middle of one of the largest bird sanctuaries in the Pacific Northwest and overlooks the Keystone Underwater State Park on Admiralty Bay. Go for a walk, jog, or a bike ride. There are miles of trails at nearby Fort Casey and Ebey's Landing, as well as the beach just steps from the deck. Take the nearby Keystone ferry over to Port Townsend for an afternoon of sight seeing and shopping. Explore the historical pioneer sites in Coupeville, head to a spa or gallery in Langley. On occasion during the summer, the jet Prowler squadron based at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station will practice touch and gos on the airstrip about one mile away. You can park at the end of the airstrip and marvel as they roar overhead, or watch them circle around from our deck.

From the 800 sq ft deck (or the living room) you can watch cruise ships, aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, oil tankers, sail boats or cruise ships any time of the day. The view of the Olympic Mountains across the water is spectacular! This beach front property is a second home and is available on a limited basis, both summer and winter.

Amenities: Amenities: Washer/dryer, WiFi, HD satellite TV, DVD, fully equipped kitchen with all staples, microwave, dishwasher, all linens and towels provided. The house is fully wheel chair accessible. A library of assorted books and games is available to those staying at our house. We also have a high chair, play pen and toddler bed available. Fishing poles and golf clubs are also available.

Hiking, golfing, fishing, crabbing, shopping, boating, art galleries, many fine restaurants, sightseeing, snorkel and/or diving (one of two underwater state parks is immediately adjacent to our property.) Many local farmers markets offer fresh fruits and vegetables as well as handcrafted items and a bit of “Whidbey Wisdom and Folklore” as well.

Location: Our home is located on the waters edge of Admiralty Bay and Ebey's Reserve - one of the largest National Historic Reserve areas in the Western United States. We are close to Coupeville, a short ferry ride to Port Townsend and scenic drives to Langley, Deception Pass and Anacortes. There is ample shopping from clothing to fresh vegetables ( in season ) at the local farmers market. You history buffs will enjoy Fort Casey, as will the kids. The Canadian border is only an hour away, and trips to Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia are a must.

Island County Hospital with complete medical and emergency services is only a few miles away.

Magical Weekend

We just experienced a fabulous weekend here. My wife, daughter and our 3 grandchildren stayed Saturday and Sunday night. We had such a good time I must LIST the things we saw and did:
1. We had GREAT weather. It was so warm that we were able to sit outside in light jackets, and the kids were in T-Shirts.
2. The sunsets and sunrises were spectacular. The sun going down behind the Olympic Mountains was a religious experience, and the sunrise the next morning was equal to that. We could actually see Mt. Rainier on the horizon, over 100 miles away.
3. We saw an ORCA swim by not more than 25 yards offshore right in front of the house, and then we saw a sea lion not more that an hour later.
4. The size and number of huge cargo ships going by in front of the house is astounding. We saw cargo ships up to 900 feet long, and even more tugboats and pleasure craft. It is a SPECIAL treat to watch nuclear submarines go by on their way to Bangor Submarine Base.
5. The WIFI and TV reception is great, and there is a very large TV in the living room, plus one in the kitchen, and excellent WIFI coverage everywhere in the house and even in the yard.
6. We built a HUGE fire in the outdoor fireplace, and enjoyed it until the last spark went out. The kids roasted s'mores and the adults enjoyed drinks. The fire threw so much heat we had to take our jackets off. There is NO shortage of driftwood to burn, all you need to do is walk a few feet and collect it.
7. The two indoor fireplaces are propane, just turn the switch and you get instant heat and a beautiful fire beside which you can sit, relax, read, and doze.
8. You can actually WALK to the ferry from here, it is about 1/2 mile, and spend a couple of bucks for a ticket and get a nice ferry ride to Port Townsend. This is a funky little town, and lots of fun to explore.
9. Be sure to visit Fort Casey, and see all the history it has to offer. It is a WW1 fort, and one of the BIG guns is still there, and all of the land and buildings, including powder magazines, gun placements, and even a lighthouse to explore.

Great Getaway on Whidbey

If you want to get away, this is the perfect place to do it. It actually seems a lot farther away from the Seattle metro than it is.

The description was accurate. The house offers anything you need. It has a well stocked kitchen. Everything is well maintained. The outside deck faces south, so watching the ships come out of Seattle is pretty cool. You can walk to the Ferry to Port Townsend and spend the day there also. You have only one house to your left facing the water, then a state park. A few houses to your right then another part of a park and the ferry. It is quiet and relaxing

Very close to Coupeville, where we ate out a few nights, so even though it seems remote, it is not.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place to be.

The house is well laid out to enjoy the fantastic view from inside or outside. Eagles, seals, and ferry boats make for great viewing. Two enclosed outdoor spaces for a dog. Very well stocked kitchen, excellent for cooking. The house is much bigger than we expected, very spacious with large rooms. Great all around!
